Strawberry Hill is a great getaway for residents of Albany, Binghamton and Syracuse (all 1.5 hours from the site) as well as college students studying at Colgate, Hartwick, Hamilton and SUNY Oneonta (all less than one hour drive). We're also the perfect camping destination for those visiting Cooperstown, New York; our 33-acre property is a short drive to the National Baseball Hall of Fame. Cooperstown Dreams Park and restaurants in the town of Cooperstown are also nearby. In the morning, you can stop by the family-owned Stagecoach Coffee (9.4 miles) for your java fix and pick up sandwiches to go. Otsego Lake and Canadrango Lakes are popular excursions with kayak and SUP rentals available. Other local attractions include the Fenimore Art Museum and several popular breweries including the Red Shed Brewery and Brewery Ommegang. There are two popular hiking trails within 1/2 hour of Strawberry Hill: The 3.6 Mile Clark Tower Trail and the 2.4 Sleeping Lion Trail in Glimmerglass State Park which offers views of Lake Otsego. (Clark Tower Trail also open to mountain bikers). In the fall, Strawberry Hill and the surrounding area is a beautiful leaf-peeping destination.

Named Strawberry Hill by my youngest daughter who loves to pick the wild strawberries that grow all over  the hill, our peaceful property offers three woodland campsites and campers are welcome to walk the property during their stay. Photos depict views around the site and the property.

Strawberry Hill Campsites each accommodate up to 6 campers with 2 on the Queen bed in the 10' x 12' Safari platform tent and up to 4 additional campers in the included pop-up tent. For parents with toddlers or young children, the spacious canvas tent can fit a pack-n-play or even a twin air mattress next to the Queen bed. The Queen bed is outfitted with a 5" memory foam mattress; if you plan to use the pop-up tent, please bring sleeping bags and consider mats or air mattresses for comfort.

The campsite also has a picnic table with a prep station, two Adirondack chairs, and a fire pit with grill top. A portable Tentrr Loo (camping potty) is also provided. Bedding and grill tools are available as a paid extra. The open-air views are about a 50 ft walk from your campsite.

Please Note: If you're traveling in a vehicle that does not have 4WD/AWD, you will need park near the main house and we will shuttle you and your belongings to the site in our UTV if desired.

The Space:
Our "Serene" campsite is our most secluded campsite on our 33 acres in Hartwick, NY. Minutes from Cooperstown - Baseball Hall of Fame and so much more - additionally we are close to Otsego and Canadarago Lakes. Great for fall foliage trips too. 1.5 hours from Albany, Binghamton and Syracuse.

This is an exclusive Tentrr Signature campsite. Tentrr partners with land owners to offer unique accommodations in beautiful outdoor spaces. Our campsites are off-the-grid which means they generally do not have access to electricity, wifi, or modern plumbing. Instead, they offer the chance to relax, unplug, and fully experience nature! 

Your Tentrr campsite includes a 10'x12' (120 square feet) safari-style canvas tent on a raised wooden platform. Inside the tent you'll find one queen bed with a memory foam mattress. The tent is big enough for the bed plus one or two extra sleeping bags on the floor. Aside from the canvas tent, campers can also use the extra 5-person pop-up dome tent that___s provided. You'll also have a 6-ft picnic table, outdoor fire pit, and 2 Tentrr Adirondack chairs.

Max Occupancy: This refers to the total number of campers allowed onsite with your reservation. 

Toilets: Every campsite is equipped with a camp toilet (we call it the Tentrr Loo). This is a simple wooden box with a toilet seat and a bucket inside. To use, line the bucket with a CleanWaste Sani-Bag supplied at the camp prior to use. Afterwards, simply tie the bag up and place it in a trash bag. CleanWaste Sani-Bags use a NASA-developed gelling/deodorizing agent that helps prevent spills and keeps everyone safe and clean.

Showers: Every Signature campsite comes with a Coleman Sun Shower. The sun shower has a reservoir that holds up to 5 gallons of water, potentially enough for multiple showers. It's constructed of heat-locking material that warms the water when it's left in the sun, even on cool days.

Interaction with Guests:
Upon check out, you should leave-no-trace of your stay and be sure your campsite is returned to its natural glory! While Tentrr does not charge a cleaning fee, we do expect campsites to be left how they were found. After you check out, take everything you brought in and be sure to leave your trash at the designated location.

If a Tentrr Host submits an incident report after your stay that details evidence of trash or damage to the campsite or the host's property, Tentrr reserves the right to charge a minimum cleaning fee of $50. Just make sure to follow the Camper Manual posted at your campsite and you'll be set!

Tentrr Signature Site - Fenimore Slope

OUR STORY

Camping for us is a way of life – creating time to slow down, living at nature's pace, enjoying family and friends, the excitement, the freedom...seeing the stars on a clear night, feeling the warmth of the fire on your toes, waking up in the morning to hear the birds singing or people laughing, and seeing those scrunchy, sleepy faces. Making these memories is what we strive for at West Canada Creek Campground.

The Campground, which is a privately owned by the Mouna Family, spans 17 acres with the beautiful West Canada river running through it. To top it off, it is at the foothills of the Adirondack Mountains. WCCC as it is lovingly known, was created and built to focus on giving families the opportunity to go camping in the Adirondack Mountains, making memories that last generations.

The Mouna's have a passion for outdoor life. When they began their search for a campground across both Canada and the USA, they fell in love with the campground as soon as they saw it. They wasted no time moving from Ontario, Canada to make their new home in Upstate New York. Owning a campground has been a lifelong dream and it is now a reality. Having recently taken over, Jason and Imrana look forward to continuing to make lifelong family camping memories with you.

West Canada Creek Campground

This 9,400-acre forested property, located in southeast Madison County, makes up the core of the Brookfield Trail System. Charles E. Baker, combined with Brookfield Railroad and Beaver Creek State Forests, contain 100 miles of connected trails. These recreational trails are open for hiking, horseback riding, snowmobiling, cross country skiing, snowshoeing and mountain biking. Several trails are open for ATV use by permit only for people with disabilities.

Primitive campsites are located at the Moscow Hill Assembly and Camping Areas, the Cherry Ridge Camping area, and other camping areas noted on the map. In these areas, camping is at designated sites only, except in the Moscow Hill Assembly area where there is room for RVs and trailers. Campsites feature picnic tables and fire pits. The Cherry Ridge camping area has potable water. Campsites are on a first-come, first-served basis. Lean-tos are also available for camping. See the map for locations.

At large primitive camping is also allowed. Campsites must be at least 150 feet away from the nearest road, trail, or body of water. Camping for more than three nights or in groups of ten or more requires a permit from a Forest Ranger.

Aside from the canvas tent, campers can also use the extra 5-person pop-up dome tent that___s provided. You'll also have a 6-ft picnic table, outdoor fire pit, 2 Tentrr Adirondack chairs, and a heating source to keep you warm and toasty at night. 

Group Camping: We welcome campers with larger parties, but the standard Tentrr setup only includes the canvas tent plus the additional pop-up dome tent. You may need and are encouraged to bring additional camping gear of your own if you plan on camping with a large party. 

Max Occupancy: This refers to the total number of campers allowed onsite with your reservation. You may have as many campers in your party up to the maximum limit that is set for the listing, but please note that the only bed provided as a standard amenity is the one set up inside the canvas tent.

As the name suggests, we are located on 40 acres of beauty! Your off-the-grid 20 ft. diameter glamping tent is set up near a small beaver pond at about the midpoint of our property. There is another large and deep pond that you may use our fishing boat or paddle boat on. Or fish from shore! There is an abundance of birds, frogs (they will serenade you), deer, heron, ducks, bald eagles and fireflies!

Battery or solar lights are provided. A rechargeable light/outlet combo is also provided. This can be used for cell phone charging, the lamp, the fan, etc. It can be recharged in your vehicle if needed. The toilet and shower are rustic - compostable toilet and solar shower. Should you feel the need for a "real" shower there is a wonderful facility in Cooperstown called the Clark SportCenter. Not only is it a state-of-the-art gymnasium, but you may also get a day pass and enjoy a nice sauna and shower.

Should you wish to have electricity we do have a generator that you may use, you will just have to purchase the gas for it. Be aware it will change the peacefulness of the spot. We have a portable Air Condition unit should you need it.

We do have cell phone service, but Wifi is not available. We provide you with 5 gallons of water to be used for cooking and cleaning dishes. It is ok to drink too, but you may want to bring bottled water or containers. We have great well water and there is an outside spigot next to the well house where you have access to as much water as you need.

Real dishes, pots and pans, utensils, some seasonings, a cooler, camp coffee maker, wine glasses, corkscrew, matches, firestarter, soap, dish soap, and probably a few things I missed, are all provided for you. You basically need yourself, your clothing and your food to cook.

The yurt (bell) tent is located near the old train tracks. The Rail Explorers have pedal cart excursions that go out several times a day. Check out thier site. If you choose to take this excursion you will get 10% off when you use a code I will give you. On Saturday evening there is a Blues/Music Train that leaves from Milford at about 7 pm and goes all the way to Cooperstown for a 3 hour evening of music and fun. You get to hear and see it go by unless you decide to take the ride. It is fun!

The fall is the best time to visit! Crisp mornings, beautiful nights for campfires, changing of the leaves, less traffic in the area.

In the 1800's it was a celery farm, later a sheep farm. It has been in our family since the 1950's. We have enjoyed the serenity and beauty for years and are happy to share it with others. Your site is currently the only one of two on the property, so if you want privacy, this is it! The two sites are not next to each other

No matter what kind of camping you’re into; seaside, mountainside, lakeside, even city side, New York has it all. There’s a countless number of places where you can pitch a tent, park a car, or rent a cabin. Camping in New York also means you’ve always got a ton of activities nearby, like swimming, hiking, fishing, canoeing, even mountain biking. 


Some of the best camping in New York can be found in the Finger Lakes. Here you’ll find places like the Hickory Hill Family Camping Resort that offers themed weekends, as well as spa services, mini golf, wagon rides, and swimming pools. One of the more popular Finger Lakes destinations is Watkins Glen State Park, which has 19 waterfalls within a two mile walk. The park also has an Olympic sized pool, hot showers, and restrooms.

Welcome to this hidden woodland retreat in the heart of the historic Mohawk Valley; made famous by the American novels ofJames Fenimore Cooper. Minutes from Cooperstown and the Baseball Hall of Fame, Fenimore Art Museum, Farmers Museum; and the world famous Glimmerglass Opera house. Enjoy relaxing local hiking trails and natural views or explore local fare and museums before returning to a rustic evening of campfire cooking and relaxation. Briar Hill is adjacent to cow pasture in the valley, the sound of cows lowing in the morning should be expected.

Briar Hill itself is a distinct locale - referred to in the historical botanical writings of Susan Fenimore Cooper, grand-daughter of the towns namesake. Ms. Cooper noted that travelers would often have to double-team the horses to ascend Briar Hill; which was reputed to always be covered with tangles of wild blackberries - and still is. 

Susan Fenimore Cooper, is still known as the first American naturalist author, and here you can camp atop a hill whose cultural value and reputation precede the American Revolution.

We ask that you do your part as well - maintain social distancing, clean up after yourselves, and leave no trace - so that everyone in our camping communities can enjoy these cherished outdoor spaces. 

To limit the potential impact of community spread during the Covid-19 pandemic, we are encouraging our campers and hosts to adopt self-check in procedures whenever possible. To make self check-in easy, Tentrr provides a map to your site and driving directions in an email sent out a few days before your reservation. Please refer to this guide to get to your campsite. As a reminder, it is good practice to give your host a head's up on your estimated arrival time a few days beforehand. If you need any assistance, you can reach out to your host through the contact information provided in your confirmation email.

Tentrr Signature Site - Lake View Retreat

Settled in a valley along Red Creek in Cooperstown NY, only 2.5 miles from the Baseball Hall of Fame and Lake Otsego, we provide a special accommodation experience. It's like a private cabin in the woods (even though the cabin is a safari style tent). You'll also have private access to beautiful Red Creek for relaxation, exploration, swimming or fishing.

The campsite is located in the lower woodlands.  There is a 200 foot long dirt road down to the site that allows you to park at the campsite if you have an SUV or truck. For small cars or if you don't want to drive down to the campsite we have a parking spot in the upper woodlands with a cart you can use to move your supplies to the campsite.

Our Tentrr site is nestled in a private, 32 acre parcel at a high elevation above Cooperstown. Our site is near the top of a seasonal road called "Pink Street Spur". The road is very rough and can be wet in spots so be sure to drive very slowly and use the median to drive on where it gets too high for your vehicle's chassis (keep to the left and keep your right side tires on the road center).  If you want to park right next to the tent, you will need AWD/high clearance vehicle. Otherwise you are able to park, and walk to the site.  Please explore the trails within the blue boundary marks and use all the firewood you please. Enjoy your stay!
