## Overview

 Lost Johnny Point Campground is located on the Hungry Horse Reservoir, high in the Rocky Mountains, west of the Continental Divide and just south of the Canadian border. Spectacular views and ample opportunities for recreation surround the campground. Lost Johnny Point Campground has 21 camp sites, 12 which are reservable and 9 for our walk-up visitors. The stay limit is 16 consecutive days. 
## Recreation

 Boating is popular on the 27,750-acre reservoir, and a concrete boat ramp is accessible from within the campground. Swimming and fishing are also popular pastimes, and anglers can expect to catch a variety of fish, including cutthroat trout.
## Facilities

 The campground offers 21 overnight sites for tent and RV camping. Each is equipped with tables and campfire rings with grills. Accessible vault toilets and drinking water are provided. The water is not a fill station but only for your water jugs so bring your RV water full. Campground roads and parking spurs are paved. An on-site host is available to answer any questions about the campground and surrounding area. The campground also offers first-come, first-serve sites as well. 
## Natural Features

 The campground is situated along the massive Hungry Horse Reservoir, which was dammed to provide hydroelectric power and flood control to the area. It is the 10th highest dam in the United States and provides a stunning backdrop. Home to lynx, grizzly bear and bull trout, the forest is a premiere destination for visitors.

 Lost Johnny Point Campground is approximately 18 miles southwest of the West Glacier entrance to Glacier National Park.
## Charges &amp; Cancellations

 Cancellations made within the 4 Day Reservation Window will be \"considered\" for a refund, by the concessionaire, of Camping fees only and will automatically forfeit the first nights fee. Day of Arrival cancellations must be turned in by calling Cheryl at 406-752-PWAI (7924) or 406-404-4164 to get the information to the campground Host. Lost Johnny Point Campground

A nice little spot near the water with trails with access down to the water. Spectacular sunset and sunrise views, and the stars are amazing. Outhouses nearby, camp host, and fire rings. Close to Glacier National Park.

Cozy little escape by the water

This was an adventure for our family. We arrived to the road that lead to the campground only to see we had to go over Hungry Horse Reservoir. I am not one to like bridges, but there we were. After crossing the bridge it takes about 4 miles to get to the campground. Be advised that this campground has 2 sections- first section is for first come and the next is for reserved sites. We had reservations but managed to not read the sign posted for walk ins and found ourselves a nice big site for our Montana 40’ 5th wheel im the walk ins section. The host was nice enough toshow us the other side but we figired the walk in section was better for our RV. It took some maneuvering but we settled.The campground is located in Flathead 
National Forest which is beautiful. Plenty of shade and a stream to admire. One vault restroom and a water spigot are available.You can run a generator from 6am-10pm. We saw a lot of people fishing and kayaking in the area. It takes about 15-20 minutes to get to West Glacier from this point. Overall a great experience.Be advised that this is bear country, all food must be stored!!!


Lost Johnny

Small campsites with nice wooded settling. Very reasonable access to the West gate of Glacier National Park. There is also dispersed camping in the National Forest along this same road for late comers or those who want a little more primitive and quiet experience.

Beautiful Hungry Horse 

Lots of traffic here. It’s not hard to see why - lots of services like wood and water, marvelous location both in ease of finding and where it is on this massive reservoir, and some campsites right on the water. It’s probably better for smaller groups and avid fisherpeople, because the sites aren’t that large or unique. This is all within the small reservable side of the campground, where all my pics come from. The first-come-first-serve side is even smaller but feels more private due to the extra tree cover.

Lots of People Have Made Up for Johnny

Lost Johnny Point is amazing.  Other reviews are  accurate. Paved sites mostly level.water and trash bins available. Stayed here in our 34RLSA 5er.

Usda campground 

This forest service campground has 
only 5 sites but well worth the 8 mile drive on a paved road. Lake/Mountain View’s are picturesque. 
Be prepared to share your site with mule deer as they wonder through the grounds. Vault toilet is available. 


Small but mighty

Had a great stay here. There are two campgrounds, one first come first served (good luck getting one of those) and one to be reserved through Recreation.gov. We reserved. Had a site right near the lake. No problem getting in with our 38’ MH. No cell service to speak of (good thing). No electric, water, or sewer. 
Spent a lot of time out on the water on the paddle boards. Kids and dogs all enjoyed the water and the views were fantastic. West entrance to GNP is only 30 minutes away. Heading back again.
