I spent the weekend here mid September. It was a nice place. Quiet and secluded. On the creek side, every campsite has trails leading to the creek. There is a vault restroom if needed, each site has a paved parking spot big enough for my truck and 25ft camper. I would say it could fit up to…
Close to Route 66, easy turn off …5-6 minutes up the road.
Great service, quiet. By a lovey pond and down a ramp to the river for canoeing or tubing. Nice shower house. Good stay!
We called ahead and arrived 45 minutes after their closing time. The gentleman at the office cheerfully guided us to our campsite. It is blissfully quiet. Nothing but icadas, crickets and quiet laughter from the camp next to us.
Everyone was nice that worked there. Didn't have any problems with the people around us but we were in the family area. Now camping is free if you float with them and it does get crowded on the weekends. We did drive down to the water where the party camping is and was super packed. The Grub Bucket…
This was a weekender for us. The campground is well organized and very clean. Kids have lots of fun activities waiting for them.
One great feature of this place, is the fact that they separated the 'Family' and 'Activity' areas from the older folks area. Oldies like us can enjoy the kids play and…
Great place to camp out and have a float trip. The next time we go we will be bringing our own grill as they did not have many options on site. The staff was friendly and helpful.
This was a pretty campsite with lots of trees and simple deer trails throughout. Sites are well spread out. The lake itself was filthy and smelly. Lots of trash and rotting fish on the shorelines. The campground website said they had WiFi throughout the campsite, however it was only available at…
We stayed at spot 95 and had a very quiet experience. The camping spots were large and private. There are bath/shower houses with hot water and flushing toilets. The rangers completely sanitized all facilities early in the morning and we were very happy with our stay.

Easy parking with convenient hookups. Primitive camping would be awesome because your closer to the river.
Super friendly people and plenty of things to do!
We love this campground. The staff is great and the campground is beautiful. It offers direct access to the Niangua River, and it is only a short drive from Bennett Springs State Park, where you can fly fish and pull trout from the river from dawn until dusk.
The float trips on the Niangua…

Although this is adjacent to the Interstate exit (and therefore more noisy for a Sportsmobile tent camper), it was excellent and we’d stay there again. The cement pads, clean picnic table and immaculate bathrooms, with separate private showers, were welcome after a long travel day.
You can’t go…
I have been hiking here twice but haven’t camped yet. The trails and the river make for some great scenery. Be wary of the water level, this can impact any hiking you might be looking to do, so be ready.
Great Stay, lots of people and we had some trouble backing our camper up but we were happy with our stay.
Alway have a fantastic time here- the staff is amazing, the place is great. We return every year and can’t say enough good things about them!!!
