Beautiful but too buggy to enjoy

Great place for kayaking and exploring. Beautiful sunsets. Campground was quiet, lots of families. Bathrooms very clean and well ventilated and were cleaned 3 times a day for COVID. Campground staff and rangers were onsite all the time and if there were any issues it was easy to get help. Unfortunately the bugs were so bad, it was nearly impossible to enjoy. No-see-ums bite all day long, bug spray helps with these. Deer flies bite from the morning sun until it’s dark and they are the worst at dusk. Fire smoke doesn’t keep them away and Bug spray does not help keep these flies from biting. The bites are painful and the flies follow you. It was awful. If you go before June or after September, you’re more likely to have a good time. Taking two stars off for bug issues, not likely to go back unfortunately.
