John James Audubon State Park Campground

**John J Audubon State Park** has some awesome architecture and the feel of old school parks.

Near Henderson, Ky off the Pennyrile Parkway and a stone throw away from Evansville, In.

The campground is at the front of the park. Not huge, and it was not crowded when we visited. Plenty of sites to pick from.

The trails are nice, there is only one that allows dogs. The onsite buildings are old school and have to be seen to be appreciated. Worth the trip or a nice stop off enroute somewhere else.

History now

I just want to start by saying this is a really neat park. The only problem that I have with it is if you have a dog there’s only one trail that is dog friendly. The campground itself is nice. Primitive is available. But nice campground.
