A 375 acre lake is popular with boaters and skiers, and fishing for bass, crappie, catfish and bream is excellent. Paddlers can rent canoes and kayaks to explore this beautiful lake lined with fragrant water lilies and tupelo trees. Guided pontoon boat tours are sometimes offered during events. The beachside pavilion, picnic shelters and group shelters are scenic spots for parties, reunions and other celebrations. Reed Bingham is less than six miles from I-75, making it a relaxing stop for travelers. It was named for Amos Reed Bingham who was instrumental in having the park established.

Visitors to this pretty park usually see abundant wildlife, including species such as gopher tortoises, yellow bellied sliders and indigo snakes. Nesting bald eagles are often seen in winter. American alligators are often seen sunning along the lake’s edge. During winter, thousands of “buzzards,” actually black vultures and turkey vultures, roost in the trees and soar overhead. Nearly 80 percent of the Coastal Plain’s plant community can be found along the park’s Coastal Plain Nature Trail, making this park’s habitat some of the most diverse in the country.

Reed Bingham State Park Campground

We love this state park park with its large wooded campsites, 375 acre lake and river for paddling &amp; fishing, 7 miles of multi use trails for hiking &amp; biking trails, playgrounds, and putt putt golf.  Home to gopher turtles, alligators,deer and seasonal home to vultures and bald eagles makes wildlife spotting fun. The landscape runs the gamut from coastal plain to pine forest.  Those visiting for the day may enjoy the catfish cabin restaurant just outside the park. Since the park is only 7 miles from 1-75 this can easily be a great overnight stop.  

Reed Bingham is located on route 37 which is an Agro-tourism road.  The route features vineyards, olive farms, boutique hotels, specialty shops, local produce, farms and two state parks....to name just a few places for you to visit. We also enjoyed biking to the Horse creek winery in Sparks, Ga just 7 miles away.  (This winery is also a harvest host).

Campground- sites are large and graveled.  Outer loop locations have more shade trees.  Premium sites have sewer in addition to water/30/50AMP picnics tables,fire rings and some with grills too.  There are no cabins.

The paddle in campground for 30 is pretty cool since it is its own island. There is also a nice group/pioneer camping and a couple of walk in tent sites that are on a little island with a bridge walkway.

There are rentals for bikes and paddling.  The beach for swimming is more of a wading beach and since I have seen the alligators in this lake i do not recommend swimming anywhere else on your own.

Paddling/Fishing is fun on the 375 acre lake.  The lake also connects to little river and it is a @ 3 hour leisurely up river paddle to Red Robin Boat ramp in Adel Georgia (aka Colquitt boat ramp) -&gt;if you have a way to drop off and paddle downriver to Reed Bingham it would be more relaxing.

The 5k running/walking route for the annual Little River 5k is easy to follow in the park for your activity pleasure.


All around fun campground 

Very fun state park, I live about 2 hours away from this park. It's in a great location. When we went it was cold windy and about freezed us but the park made it fun for us we rented a couple bikes, went fishing and they had nice bathrooms, that's always a plus. I'd rate this park a 4 out of a 5. Also the kayaking is great

Plenty of bicycling and relaxing to go around! Watch out for the gopher tortoises! They hiss!

Bicycling and Relaxing

Stayed one night on the way to Florida. Came in late and left early, so didn't get to enjoy a lot that they had to offer. They have a turtle habitat and nice lake area. Hope to visit again. Had a nice pull through site right by the bathhouse, which was very clean. Gorgeous Spanish Moss.

Beautiful Escape 

Reed Bingham State Park is located in Adel, GA. It has about 1600 acres including a 375 acre lake with many activities surrounding it. There is a dam with fishing as well as boating, swim beach and and island for camping. Off the lake are 2 camping loops with just under 50 sites. Ranging from water/electric only to full hook-ups. Prices run between $28 and $38 per night. There is also primitive group camping and Eagle Island camping in the lake if you wish to paddle over. Our family stayed here in December 2016 with friends. We were lucky enough to get 2 standard sites side by side so we could create a cozy awning to awning camp area for our families. The bathrooms and laundry were nearby (1 in each loop). There was a large grassy area in the middle of the loop for the kids to play soccer, set up the slack-line, etc.They also enjoyed the playground, climbing tree and mini-golf nearby. We went on some short hikes in the park. There are 7 walking and biking multi-use trails that are all under 1 mile. You can connect them together for a much longer hike. Overall, this was a great family friendly campground.

Lots of Lake activities

Nice and clean full hookups campsite with picnic table and fire ring. Park rangers and camp host are really nice and helpful. This park has a lot to do from different programs/ activities by the rangers for all the family, hiking and bike trails, swimming area, boat ramp, great for fishing, playground and putt putt golf. Campground bathroom is really clean and has laundry too.

One of our favorites!

I frequently drive from southwest Florida to Atlanta. When I’m towing my Casita I stop for the night at Reed Bingham State Park, about the halfway point. I never need a reservation &amp; I get to choose my own campsite which is ALWAYS a pull through. This is a small campground with a small store and a small lake. It’s lovely and clean but the sites are open with some shade trees. Restrooms &amp; showers are clean and that’s all I require other than electricity and water for a quick overnight stay. I wouldn’t stay here as a destination although it’s very peaceful and near Axel, GA, but it’s terrific and handy and affordable as an overnight stop.

A good night’s rest

Wonderful. 

The camp staff was very friendly and helpful but the obnoxious camp post put a damper on our stay. I hope they fix this. there were not a lot trees but lots of trails nearby. Nice bathhouse.

This beautiful hidden gem is just a stone’s throw west of Adel, Georgia. Accessible off of Interstate 75, this State Park is worth visiting. Activities you can enjoy are camping, boating, fishing, kayaking, hiking, swimming, geocaching, and picnicking. The staff are wonderful and the campground is well kept. They have bike a bike rental shop at the campground along with firewood and other necessities. There’s a shower house that is availability to all campers. We absolutely love it here!! So close to home but far enough to get away:)

Practically a Staycation!!!

Stayed in our RV several days over the course of a weekend. We were in the loop (1) that did not have sewer hookup but there was a dump station available for when we left. The newer Loop (2) has nicer bathrooms and showers and laundry as well as sites with sewer hookup. Some sites have more shade than others, we were at site 9 which was very shaded. Great kayaking available and rentals are available as well. Good hiking trails, too.

Well-maintained Park

Well kept campground and facilities.  Good place to walk short trails, biking, boating and fishing.  There is a miniture golf and playground within sight of the campground.  Good place to get together with family and friends.

Great getaway!

We stopped here enroute to an event and for a smaller State Park Reed Bingham was nice. There is a huge lake to play in and plenty of Fisher folk .
The staff said there were alligators but we didn’t run across any. There were several intertwining trails which had some interesting fauna and wildlife. Cool kayak/canoe trail to check out too. 
The campground was about half full, with pull throughs and level sites available. Not much shade but with fall weather it was very comfortable. Lots of sand. 

Enroute

My wife and I are on our way to Florida from Nashville. We are not in a hurry and stopped north of Atlanta for a couple of nights at Red Top Mountain State Park. It is a great park. 

We arrived around 4:00 pm and the office was closed but we knew what our campsite number was in this park.  The park was a little farther off I-75 than I thought it was but to be honest my wife made three reservation. What a huge surprise when we pulled up to the park.  A dam and lake and a very clean area.  Driving past this area we came to a playground which was very well kept. On a little farther was the campground.  From what I saw each lot is a pull through and very, very spacious and clean. The trees had moss growing in them and there was a gentle breeze blowing.

I want to come back and spend more time here! This place is so inviting and peaceful. 

Reed Bingham State Park

Four friends and I took a road trip for spring break and our second stop was Reed Bingham. We were supposed to camp on the paddle in site but recent rains wouldn't let us. They were very accommodating and gave us their pioneer site, with it's only personal outhouse, and a 20% refund. The pioneer site was a lot of fun. The downside of the park was their Georgia camper patches were very sad looking an unraveled (they look a lot better at other parks. We don't know why but if you're a patch person buy them at Stephen C. Foster) and they sold us wet wood so were weren't able to get a good fire going. We had bought two and we asked for a refund for the one we didn't use and we got it.  Fun hiking too with good bathrooms at the entrance but again, because of the rain, some of the trails were closed so out hikes were cut short. Obviously the rain isn't their fault, it's just something to keep in mind if you go after it's rained. All in all a good place to camp.

Accommodating and good camping but has wet firewood and sad patches

We enjoyed this park so much. We’re from this area so as far as sights and sounds and activities, it was all fairly familiar and routine BUT this place is so nice and well kept that we had an unforgettable time anyway! Every part of it is beautiful, clean and maintained. The staff was welcoming and even accommodated us changing campsites at the last minute. The kayak trail down the Little River is so much fun and good for beginners. The Coastal Plains nature trails are in great shape, well marked and enjoyable. Great place to stay.

Awesome site

Wonderful State Park in southern Georgia! Chose our site from the pictures and it was perfect. Sites in lower loop one were spaced out and the back in sites were tucked into the woods, just the way we had hoped. Most sites are gravel and ours was well maintained and level, with a new large picnic table and fire pit with grill cover. The basic cable was a bonus! Restrooms were older but clean and well stocked. The upper loop 2 had a brand new bath house, and both had laundry facilities. The park itself has TONS of open green space! Great quiet weekend getaway.

Beautiful end spacious state park

We arrived on Easter Sunday and stayed in our 5th wheel on site #1 for three nights. It was easy to get in but make sure you take the right to the check in area. We tried the little hut and had to swing around to get into registration. 

  

Our site had water and electric and we were very close to an older but clean bathhouse. A newer larger bathhouse was a very short walk away. 

  

Our site was kind of in the middle of things but did not feel too close or crowded.  Our camp host was friendly and helpful. 

  

We enjoyed walking and biking on the trails. It's not particularly strenous but long boardwalks lead through a beautiful swampy area. We went out kayaking on the Little River and when we got back into the swampy area it was stunningly beautiful and peaceful. The trees almost looked like they were suspended in the air. (Not crazy about the gators though since we were in an inflatable kayak!) Bought a fishing pass for a day but no luck catching anything. 

  

A morning walk revealed a tree full of buzzards that swooped in and out of the trees. 

  

The jet skis and boaters can get kind of noisy if you're not into that kind of thing but except for Easter Sunday, a busy day, it wasn't constant. 

  

Didn't seem to be any park wifi though there was TV cable. Got a decent signal on Verizon phone, poor signal on AT&amp;T hotspot and excellent signal on TMobile hotspot. 

  

We would not hesitate to come back. Enjoyed our stay!

Enjoyable stay

Quiet state park with full hookups, power &amp; water and grassy tent sites.  Gopher turtle reserve with great hiking trails.  2 shower houses, mini golf and canoe rentals on lake.  Fishing with state license.  Walmart, McDonalds,  Burger king and sit-down resturants in town (about 7 miles).

Nice quiet and not far off I-75

Snagged a last minute campsite at Reed Bingham for the 4th and loved it! Our loop had full hookups which was a wonderful bonus. Love the cable for evening wind down. The site was clean and backed up to the woods with huge oaks and plenty of shade. Plenty of space between sites so even though it was full, we had lots of privacy. We will be back!

Awesome holiday weekend camping

Stayed here 2 nights in a pull through site (#5) and we were happy. The site didn’t have much shade but we used our awning and it was fine. The sites are fairly large. All have picnic table. Our site had water and 30amp electric but Loop 2 has full hookups.

The park has miniature golf, volley ball and hiking trails. Also there is a big lake if you have a boat. All in all it was a nice stay.

Nice park!

We’ve stayed at Reed Bigham twice and have enjoyed it both times. It is a very large park on a reservoir that is divided by the Little River.  There is a public beach and numerous shady picnic sites and shelters. We stayed in  loop one which features water and electric while loop 2 has 50 amp full hookup sites. They also have a mini golf course. The campground is a gopher tortoise preserve and there are several nests in the campground Our site has a resident tortoise that has his burrow under one of the landscape timbers.  The restrooms are clean but have seen a lot of use and need updating

Great park 

We stayed two nights, site 33, as just a way break up a long drive to FD Roosevelt SP from Orlando. What a pleasant surprise, lots of nice hiking trails one that follows the Little River and then connects to other trails. If you go bring a kayak or canoe and fishing gear none of which we had with us this trip. Great restaurant  "Catfish House" within walking distance of park entrance but you might as well drive as there's no alcohol served. Their sign says theyre only open Thurs.-Sat. We had...you guessed it, catfish. They have other food choices but ordering anything else would be like asking for ketchup for your steak, which they also offer.

Peaceful Halfway Point/ Future Final Destination

This campground is absolutely beautiful. Our site was very shady. Didn’t see much wildlife, but we did see a beautiful campground. Bathhouse was extremely clean. Tons of room on our site too. 

Absolutely beautiful

Wow!   This park is awesome.  Site 34, pull thru, FHU with gravel site.  Site is very large.  50 amp.  Camphost was excellent.  Restrooms are so very clean, as is the entire park.   Very well maintained.  Picnic table, fire pit, and grill.  We rode our bikes over the dam.  Nice ride.

They have a boat ramp, lake and river for paddling. Plenty of walking trails with all sorts of natures. We saw some deer and a gopher tortoise on our walk. Apparently there's a swimming beach on the lake somewhere. Almost all the sites seem to be pull through which was very convenient. We used this place as just a relaxing place to crash on the way to our next destination. Would be a great place for a family reunion. Sites have FHU and fire pit and garbage hanger. Volleyball and baseball style field on premises as well as other pavilions and gathering spaces. 

Variety of activities 

Stayed for one night and would have enjoyed several more. Good sized sites, nice trails and
live oaks, a playground. Add 5 bucks to the cost of booking, because there is a 5 dollar park fee. Still reasonable, cheap actually for what you get. 8 to 10 minutes off of 75, but worth it for the quiet and beauty compared to roadside stops.

We stayed here for just 1 night on the way back to Tennessee.
Half of the campground was closed due to renovation. The other sites are almost all pull through sites, which is very nice of you have a bigger camper. 
Each site had a picnic table, firepit, water and electricity. 
The bathhouse and showers were very clean. 
Unfortunately we had no time to do any of the activities like hiking or kayaking. The lake looks very inviting for fishing or boating. 
We also saw several Gopher tortoise dens but unfortunately no tortoise. 
We would love to stop again and explore the park.

My family and I stayed here our first night with a camper without any camping experience. The facilities were great and hooking up was a breeze! I will be going back for a more extended stay but we just wanted to spend a night away with our new camper for this one.
