This campground is located 24.5 miles west of Creede on Forest Road 510. It is completely hidden from FR 510 and has 21 sites with parking spurs, tables and a fire ring in each. 2 vault type toilets are provided and potable drinking water comes from a well. This campground is only open from Memorial Day weekend to just after Labor Day weekend. Garbage cans are centrally located. Firewood is not provided. A host is stationed at the campground which is usually only about 1/3 full. It is adjacent to North Clear Creek which is great for fishing. Some sites are in sunny openings, while some sites are screened and shaded with small aspen/spruce/fir. This is a good general area to observe and take pictures of the aspen colors in the fall, and maybe see a Moose. North Clear Creek

One of my favorite campgrounds! For the last few years the camp hosts have been amazing. We have had bears around the campground and even woke up to mama and baby moose walking through the campsite. Down the road are the beautiful North Clear Creek Falls. A few more miles down the road is Browns Lake. During late May and very early June you catch a lot of trout on the bridge that crosses the dam.

Nice campground! 

What’s great about this campground is that it is not crowded and quiet! It is also about a 5 minute drive to one of the bigger waterfalls in Colorado - North Clear Creek Falls. It has everything you need - picnic table, fire ring with grate, 2 restrooms, and water. Some sites are better than others, but since this campground isn’t very popular you can actually drive around and pick out a site you like. The best sites are the ones closest to the creek or in the southern loop (on the right when driving in).

Clean and perfect river views. Mot much as far as hiking though. Fire pit, picnic table and grill at most locations. Fresh water and toilets are convenient. The falls are outstanding!
