Great stopping point along the way

We used this as a stop headed north . Its in a commercial area and set back in a wooded area. Very nice clean park that has alot of nearby shopping.

Brite Lake đź‘Ť

Brite Lake is a small lake but you can definitely catch some fish! You can camp right up to the water which was awesome! It does get a little windy at times but nothing too crazy đź‘Ť

Cute and Quaint

We loved Selby Campground! There are not many camping spaces and they are pretty close together but still great spots! There are picnic tables and fire pits on each one. There is one porta potty like bathroom with two toilets. We didn’t use the running water but saw other people doing it! There is…

Dam(n) Construction

This place is right off of Hwy 178 and you can camp right next to the water's edge but there is 24/7 dam construction with bright lights and loud machinery at all hours so be aware that it is not very peaceful at this time. Not really sure how long construction will be going on or what exactly they…

Quiet, peaceful, and FREE

We loved this campground.  The 3 nights we stayed here were really relaxing and peaceful. Almost all other campers were quiet and respectful and friendly.  We won't talk about the noisy family with 4 rambunctious kids that busted in one evening, screamed and yelled for about 12 hours, straight,…

Convenient, nice river access

This campground was clean, well maintained, and convenient location if you want to explore the Kern River up into the mountains. The campground runs along the river with some really fun little access spots if you’re lucky enough to get a river side site. The whole park is nice too, with a…

Quick and Easy

We stopped here between Joshua Tree and Oakland. Super easy to get a same day spot. Full hookups. Everything looks pretty new. Very quiet and tidy. Not much to see nearby. We didn’t check out any facilities. Wide spots too.

Nice place with bonus orange picking

We had site 117 and it was a nice spot with no fire pit. Full hookups and really I can’t imagine you could have a nicer park in Bakersfield. They did a great job! Only minor thing is the wifi did not work reliably for my son’s online school. My son and I enjoyed free orange picking though!

Organized, pleasant setting, OK wifi

On arrival for my one night, the wall board by the office had all the reservations with site numbers, map and local recommendations.

Grounds have plenty of areas for dogs, clean bathrooms + showers, and OK wifi that was a bit spotty at times. The orange trees provide a little privacy between…

Fun Mountaintop for All

This is a convenient and fun escape from the city. Just above Fraizer Park you can find mountaintop hiking and sledding depending on the time of year. When fire restrictions are down they allow fires within the provided rings and there are restrooms that are well maintained. Only one car per site I…

Out in the middle of nowhere

Took a drive out there last week(Jan 24th) on a hunt to find new campsites and was a little disappointed when we drove up. Each site was pretty close to one another so not much privacy and the sites were a little small for my liking. KCL would be perfect for people who are going to be exploring all…

Infested with flies

Went in late October and the campground was absolutely infested with flies. Us and the three other campers that showed up around the same time ended up leaving and going to Selby up the road because the flies were so out of control. Not sure if this is a seasonal issue because there isn’t any…
