Mount Madonna camping hideaway under redwoods

Enjoyed tent camping at mount Madonna. I was able to reserve a drive in tent campground one month out . Many miles of trails and excellent facilities.

Great easy camping

Cozy clean campsites easy to navigate. Valley view point was pretty nice will make a good painting spot next time. Bathrooms were clean but didn’t use the showers, assumed they worked just as well. Archery ranged looked like a great trail I’ll have to bring my bow next time.

Awesome Place

This is a great camp ground for families as well as seniors! We are seniors and stayed recently over a weekend when they have their most activities. We attended a presentation on the wild birds in the area that an employee provided, and then he took us on a hike through Costanoa and over to the…

I wouldn’t stay very long.

Campsite 10/11 are great if connected, with the only view in the place. Other sites are secluded but cornered off with not much view.

Bugs! Lots and lots of flies, wasps and mosquitos here. Keep your trash and cooking in your car to be safe, wasps will swarm quickly.

Pit toilets are at the…

89k acres to get lost in.

Great backpacking park. Only go in the fall, winter and spring. Summer is way to hot and dry. There are so many sites you could go on a trip for a month and  never stay at the same spot. Lots of wildlife, flowers, amazing views and stars. Be prepared for hills though. The saying goes, "you dont go…

Lovely place if you have a good site

We had a great weekend camping trip at Coe Ranch - thanks to being at one of the sites with a bit of shelter and shade. Beware that many of the sites have neither of these things, and can be really exposed.

I’d recommend sites 10-12, 13 looked ok - and sounds like other folk recommend the ones…

Pretty park, well-maintained

The park is a on beautiful forested hilltop. Some areas are redwood, other parts mixed with other kinds of trees. This is the only place I’ve seen the redwood trees harvest the fog and make their own rain, which is pretty cool. In the morning it’s raining under the redwood trees but not under the…

Awesome primitive camping

This is a primitive campground, no showers only vault toilets and restroom near visitor center ( 2 min walk from campground) both decently clean. Water for washing dishes is available. Spots are not close to each other so there is privacy. It is small, quiet, surrounded with beautiful views. Good…

Twisty drive to a beautiful campground

Well maintained campground. Some smaller and uneven spots but worth it. Next to great hikes.

Bathrooms are great.

Best kept secret!

We stayed in Valley View #1 (campsite 115 specifically), which is nestled in the redwoods with plenty of room and privacy. This park is well maintained with staff that care.

Perhaps the best part of this less known campground and park is the quiet nature of it with no major crowds. Trails were…
