Baluga whales can sometimes be seen on the drive down from Anchorage to Gwins Lodge in Cooper Landing. This is perhaps near mile 105 approximately. The whales follow the fish up during high tide. Bare and dangerous silt bottom will be exposed during low tide. Do not walk out on as you can sink in and not get out before the tide comes back in rapidly.
