Squirrel Creek State Recreation Site

Great swimming hole and wonderful berry picking. Clear water creek and lake. Nice beach and secluded campsites.

Good swimming, clear creek, berry picking.

Great on the road stop but not a destination place. Nice and clean but very wired traffic pattern. Well Maintained trails. 

Nice road side stop 

25 sites all with trees galore, tables and firepits. $20 a night along the bank of squirrel creek. Bear proof trash cans, restrooms and potable water. This is a wonderful weekend stop to fish and berry pick. 

Fishing and Berry Picking

Actually saw a squirrel within 5 minutes of being there. This is a well maintained campground with clean bathrooms. Spots along the river. Great place to stop for the night. 

Campground was not full so if you run out of options this is a great choice. Worth the drive to Worthington Glacier and Valdez.

We really enjoyed camping here. This was our first place we camped in Alaska and it was very clean. It has a beautiful view with the lake right there and the beavers are very active. Clean bathrooms
