We stayed at a great waterfront site, which was amazing, and had full hookups. (Although it did get full sun in the afternoons, which was warm) Some of the other sites are W/E only and some are not as great. The park buildings and docks are a bit dated, but the staff was very nice. The lake is…

This is local to us and we’ve been a few times. The last time however a barge flooded the area. Caused some shut downs. Lots to do usually though. Hiking. Boating or kayaking. Playgrounds.
We tent camped in the RV park with 4 dogs. Our campsite (10) was perfect- right on the water, plenty of space, nice even pad for our tent & canopy. The neighbors were kind & the bathrooms well maintained. Definitely will stay again. Nice trails too!

Cell/Wifi non existent. Office staff and rangers friendly and helpful.
Lake Lowndes is simply a place that every camper (primitive or RV) has to visit. The staff from the ranger to the park host to the manager and everyone else is friendly and ready to help in any way. The sites are paved, large and very easy to back into. We have stayed at #43, #41, #1, #31 and…

Good week end get away campground. improvements have been made. Easy access to city
This is one of my family’s favorite parks. Some great waterfront spots available with full hookups, but book early. New online state system used to make reservations and get the spot you want. Clean beach, boat rentals and clean bath houses. This park gets full in the fall with campers and people…

This campground is very pretty and peaceful. They have a nice playground for the younger kids and disc golf for the older kids. And the lake is great for fishing and kayaking. We will stay here again.
My only complaint about lake lurleen is the lack of cell service- but do you need that when camping!? Bathrooms are older, best well kept for public bathrooms. We love the swim area and it’s always clean. They have a few small parks for kids, walking and bike trails, paddle boats, boat ramps, and…
Lake Lurleen is a beautiful, well kept place to camp. Bathrooms are exceptionally clean. The camp sites are big and well maintained. The only draw back was if you are camped at the bottom and have to do the hill climb in the dark to the rest room.
Decent state park hosted by always friendly staff. Large swim beach with bath house and a few small playgrounds scattered throughout. several pavilions that can be reserved for parties. 4 camping sections with power and water, plus a primitive area. only about half have sewer, and even less have…
The park manager and workers are so nice and accommodating! I’ve stayed in the cabins and the primitive sites and both had wonderful views of the lake. The hiking trail that loops around the water is beautiful. My dog loves it too! It’s such a great place to go relax, have fun, grill out, and make…
One of my favorite campgrounds. Best to make reservations on line it fills up fast on weekends.
