Quite disappointed

Made reservations for a site. When we got here, someone was in our spot and there was a paper hanging on the post that said it was reserved for 2 days longer than how long our stay was going to be. We called and asked what was going on and the lady was extremely confused and said she'd get the campground caretaker there asap. We then asked if we could occupy another site, they said yes and asked what kind of rig we had. I said that we were tenting. The lady said that wasn't allowed and she'd issue a refund. There isn't anything on the website that says tenting isn't allowed.

Great for Sledding

Located by my hometown, I have amply explored the trails and hills in this little park. It features several large trees throughout that have been around a long while. The playground has much to offer for kids, as well has a dozen crisscrossing trails that can spur adventure for the young. The park has a fun Frisbee golf course that meanders through nearly every inch of the place. It makes for a peaceful site in the middle of a very small "urban" location. The camping area is small but sufficient for a quick night out of the house. Mosquitoes can be an issue here depending on the time of year. Of course, as the title suggests, sledding is always a great activity here in the winter with 2 preferred areas for it.

Better than expected

Based on the one review posted in 2018, I would never have considered camping here. Coincidentally, we stopped at this city park for lunch and decided to check out the campground. I thought it worthwhile to give it a little more love than it had previously received!

Perhaps in 2018, it was not a designated campground but now has nine sites required to be reserved. All have electric hookups and the price of $20 is reasonable. It is part of a larger city park near a road so you will hear some road noise but it was not too bad. There were a lot of trees providing shade.

I was not able to access the bathrooms or shower as you need an access code so cannot comment on their quality or cleanliness.

There were no amenities in the playground itself but since it is part of a larger city park, there are activities you can avail yourself of there.
