Several RV campgrounds near Milanville offer year-round and seasonal options for motorhome travelers, ranging from full-hookup parks with 50-amp service to riverside sites with water and electric connections. Tri-State RV Park in Matamoras offers full hookup sites with 50-amp service and can accommodate big rigs, though spaces are somewhat limited. "The sites are on the smaller size," noted one visitor, "but the beautiful grounds, river, and parklike setting" make up for the compact layout. Clayton Park RV Escape in Lake Ariel operates from May through mid-October with full hookup sites including water, electric, and sewer connections. Mountain Top RV Park features spacious sites suitable for larger RVs, while Soaring Eagle Campground in Equinunk provides water and electric hookups in a riverside setting from May through Columbus Day.

Navigating to some parks requires careful planning, especially for larger motorhomes. The mountainous terrain around several campgrounds means steep grades and potentially tight turns. Many RV sites throughout the region offer sanitary dump stations, though availability varies by season. Cell service can be spotty in more remote locations, with one reviewer commenting about a nearby campground having "very limited cell service on site. WiFi only near the campsite office." Pet policies are generally accommodating, with most parks allowing dogs with standard restrictions. Propane services are limited at the campgrounds themselves, so travelers should plan to fill up in larger towns before arrival. Reservations are strongly recommended during summer weekends and fall foliage season when occupancy rates typically reach capacity.

      Stony MT Family Campground

      We’d do it again!

Not cheap but we’ll within area norms. This camp has many long term campers that are friendly and helpful and some have children with them. Some full-time rigs are weekend campers. Some weekend events are planned. Most sites have full hookups with 50 amp electric only so if needed have an adapter (available at the small camp store. We had an unplanned extension on our visit that included a weekend where a group was scheduled and the park was booked including our site. The friendly staff worked to ensure a temporary site for us for the weekend.

      Jellystone Parkâ„¢ Gardiner

      FAMILY HEAVEN

This is a HUGE Jellystone park in upstate NY. There are literally hundreds of cabins and RV sites. We are in site 136, which is a back in spot. Plenty of room between campers. Gravel spot which is pretty level. Full hookups. Picnic table, cable, fire ring, large camp store, showers, toilets, and full laundry area. Also has playgrounds, pillow jump, fishing pond, golf carts, game room, Waterpark, pool, and tennis courts. All of this nestled into the mountains. Nice and family friendly.

      Kymers Camping Resort

Fun, friendly & nestled in the woods

We stayed at Kymer's on a whim for a weekend, so we could be close to Mountain Creek for a Spartan Race. It truly exceeded our expectations in all aspects. This is a family friendly, camper-friendly place. Lots of seasonals- everyone waves, everyone stops to chat. This is what a campground should feel like. The sound of laughter and play sitting around the huge, clean pool was refreshing. Our site was Oak 10. It was level, good placement of electric water & sewer connects. Camp store has all the basics you might need. There is a brook that flows adjacent to the property. It's peaceful & magical. Pet friendly, although we didn't have our pup with us. We will be back again. I almost feel like I'm revealing a hidden gem with this post. 💎

      Mountain Vista Campground

      Mt Vista Campground

Beautiful Campground. Clean. Gravel sites. Fire ring and picnic table. All sites have ample room. Lots of pull through for bigger rigs. Wooded. Large dog park. Love the Campground except our site is near a fairly busy road which takes away from that beautiful tranquility. They have camouflaged it as best they could. Friendly staff. Lots to do. Pool, tennis. Sauna, pond for fishing ( catch & release ). Would definitely recommend.

      Tobyhanna State Park Campground

      Great family campground

This place only gets 4 stars because I thought we were going to have water and electric hook ups. They only have 2 kinds of sites, modern electric (only electric) and primitive. They have a potable water station and dump station and very few sites with electric hook up. They also have specific pet friendly sites. We had a wonderful time here. We went for Father’s Day weekend in June. The lake is gorgeous! Beachfront swimming and boat rentals, great biking and hiking trails. Sites are mostly separated by trees but are still close. Bath houses were very clean and they have a dish washing sink as well. Beach is within walking and biking distance. Two cons- Bath house at the beach is 50 cents for a 2-minute shower, so we just went back to the campground bath house to clean up. The playground near sites 53-56 is a little underwhelming. Otherwise was a great stay! We already booked another stay in September this year!

      Jellystone Parkâ„¢ Gardiner

      Chillaxing Getaway

We stayed at Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park Camp-Resort along the Walllkill River in Gardiner, NY, for a four-night chill-out vacation. We’re so glad we did!

Our site was called Riverfront Red Carpet. It was spacious, level, waterfront, and partially shaded thanks to some mature trees. Site#22 included a large concrete pad, picnic table, charcoal grill, and large fire ring. Everything was in great condition. It was nice having plenty of space to not be on top of our neighbors. We had full hookups with 50-amp electrical service- which all worked fine.

The entire park seemed to be well maintained and clean. There’s a small waterpark which seemed good for younger kids, an eatery, and ice cream shop. The camp store was well-stocked with food, camping supplies, and souvenirs. There is a game room and multiple bath houses(which we didn’t use). The park’s roadways are all paved and easy to navigate. Despite being nearly filled to capacity including tons of young children, the park was quiet each night with no noisy ‘bad campers.’

We found our interactions with the staff to be helpful and attentive. We really appreciate friendly staff.

Overall, this was a great stay at a great RV park. I’d only mention two negatives, neither was a big deal. It took 45-minutes to check-in. In fairness, we arrived at check-in time(3:00 PM) on a Sunday. There were a dozen other RVs checking in at the same time and they just weren’t equipped for that. Also, our Verizon cell service was practically non-existent and the park’s wifi service was just as horrible. If we needed connectivity, this would have been a major problem. I reduced a star in my review simply because it’s 2021 and wifi has become an expectation.

We booked on campspot.com and paid$196 per night+$35 to lock our site+$2 booking fee less a 20% promo discount.

The Pines Campground — Promised Land State Park

Quiet, just remote enough, a Great Lake, and nice camp hosts

I stayed for three nights in a pull through trailer site with 50 AMP and 30 AMP electric. Easy to get in and out of, nice and shady, big spaces so you were not on top of one another, and nice and quiet. Clean and modern bath house, water close by, and great camp hosts. Definitely recommend it.

Lower Lake Campground Northwoods Area — Promised Land State Park

      Northwoods Campground

Big sites with 30 amp service available for RVs and trailers. Each site has a large picnic table and a fire ring with an adjustable grate. The pull-through sites don’t offer much in the way of privacy, but that’s the trade off for convenience. There are two potable water spigots in the campground. The bathhouse offers warm showers, 2 dishwashing sinks, and a coin-operated washer and dryer. The facilities are kept very clean. On the weekends it can get pretty crowded, so it tends to be louder at night then, but the camp hosts and the rangers do a good job of enforcing quiet hours. Access points to several trails are very near the campground. As with all PA state parks, alcohol is prohibited. The park doesn’t have a camp store, however, there is a small general store on Route 390 (The Lake Store) just north of the park that would have any essentials you may have forgotten, as well as ice for your cooler.

      Montrose Campground

Family and pet friendly year-around campground

We tried this campground a few times for short stays and ended up going seasonal last year and will do the same this year. It is a little off the beaten path but is great for families (plenty of activities for kids) and pets (our dog LOVES it there). They have a pool, fishing pond, hiking trails, mini golf, playground, large grassy areas for kids to play, and horseshoe pits. There is a store (stocked with grocery staples/snacks but also TONS of RV specific supplies/parts), laundry and showers (a new and improved bath house is currently being built). There are planned activities almost every weekend during the 'season' but they are open all year with some winter sites available. They have all sites available from tent right up to 50 amp full hook-ups. I can't wait for the new season to begin in April!

    Guide to Milanville

Camping near Milanville offers options for travelers throughout Pennsylvania's northern region. The Upper Delaware River Valley maintains elevations between 600-1,200 feet with moderate humidity levels during summer months. Area campgrounds typically experience temperature ranges from 75-85°F in summer with cooler evening temperatures dropping to 55-60°F, creating variable conditions for overnight stays.

    What to do

River activities: Soaring Eagle Campground provides access to the Delaware River for water recreation. "Nice campground right on the Delaware river great for fisherman, hikers also great for tubing down the Delaware or canoeing," notes reviewer Mike S. The campground offers kayak and tube rentals for those without equipment.

Hiking trails: Several trails connect to campgrounds in the region, with varying difficulty levels. At Thousand Trails Rondout Valley, campers can access nearby nature paths. "The creek that runs by the campground is gorgeous, and my kids had fun finding Crayfish," writes Kasey M., highlighting natural exploration opportunities.

Animal encounters: Pleasant Acres Farm RV Resort offers interaction with farm animals. "The farm has goats, a donkey, and a pony within the campground. Very cool," reports Faith D. Children can feed and observe these animals as part of their camping experience.

    What campers like

Spacious sites: Many campgrounds provide ample room between campsites. At Soaring Eagle Campground, "sites are huge, plenty of room for 2+ family campers," according to Hans M. This space allows for comfortable setup and privacy between camping parties.

Clean facilities: Campers frequently mention bathroom cleanliness as a priority. A visitor to Keen Lake Resort Campground noted, "The bath houses were constantly being cleaned and restocked," while another camper said the resort offers "Clean bath houses and very friendly staff."

Natural settings: The region maintains wooded environments despite developed amenities. One camper appreciated that Soaring Eagle "still manages to maintain a more remote and rustic feel by preserving the trees, stream and riverfront property in a mutual state without concrete pads or driveways."

    What you should know

Seasonal operations: Most campgrounds close during winter months. Clayton Park RV Escape operates "May 1 - Oct 15" while Skyway Camping Resort runs "May 1 - Oct 14." Plan accordingly for shoulder season visits when services may be limited.

Cell service challenges: Digital connectivity remains inconsistent throughout the region. At Timothy Lake South, a camper reported, "Cell service is awful for AT&T and our T-Mobile gateway. Had to move to a new site to get away from the trees to get starlink connectivity."

Reservation timing: Advanced booking becomes essential during peak periods. At Pleasant Acres, one visitor noted during summer, "Weekend was busy as usual but during the week it seems to be seasonal that stay," indicating different occupancy patterns throughout the week.

    Tips for camping with families

Activity planning: Many campgrounds schedule organized events for children. At Keen Lake, a camper mentioned, "They have activity coordinators that make sure there is something to do for all ages every hour of the day!"

Water recreation: Swimming options vary between campgrounds, with some offering both lake and pool access. "My kids really loved having a pool to swim in, in addition to the lake," noted a visitor to Keen Lake, providing alternatives for different weather conditions.

Playground facilities: Mountain Top RV Park provides outdoor play areas. "They have a small playground that would be better suited for older children, and there's also a nice lounge room with games, a pool table, a tv and puzzles/board games," reports one camper.

    Tips from RVers

Hookup availability: Full hookups are available at most rv campgrounds near Milanville, Pennsylvania. At Tri-State RV Park, a visitor noted, "We just stayed the night last minute. We hit unexpected traffic on the way and the owners were kind enough to wait for us to check in. The sites aren't anything glamorous but the hookups are great and easy to pull through."

Site selection: RV sites vary in size and accessibility. "When you leave you have to drive the wrong way in the campground because of the low hanging trees the correct direction," warns a visitor to Pleasant Acres Farm RV Resort, suggesting caution for larger vehicles.

Winter accessibility: Limited options exist for cold weather camping. Tri-State RV Park remains "Open during the winter. Easy on, easy off. Lots of pull through sites," according to one camper, making it a viable option when other Milanville area RV campgrounds close for the season.
