Great stay

We stayed at this camp site for a week and really enjoyed it! The camp host was super helpful and so friendly! It is right across the dunes from the beach.

Best out of season

We tent camped at this small (16 sites) campground in late May. The location is pretty and on the water. Not a swimming place, but there is a launch for canoes and kayaks. The location is a perfect staring point for hiking in Croatan National Forest. Fierce biting bugs and ticks during certain…

Remote & East to Access but a little Buggy

We loved this campground! It was so easy to access, the roads were well maintained and it was right on the coast. Plenty of campsites so one was easy to grab even without a reservation. Each site is super clean with a fire ring and picnic table. Free water spigots and nice gravity toilets. Price…

Stunning spot, right on the beach.

Lovely sandy setting! Campsites basic with picnic tables and grills. Grounds are well kept. Bathrooms tidy, beach shower enclosures with cold water, refreshing on hot days :)

Great Spot & Friendly Staff

We spent 11 months at this campground when we needed to live on the coast. It fit our needs as it was safe and reasonably priced for the amenities included (water, sewage, electric, internet, and cable). The campground is well kept as the owner takes pride in his establishment.

We lived here…

Primitive Beach Camping

Love this island! No crowds, lots of open beach, and plenty of fish! If you’re looking to camp on the beach and escape the crowds, you’ve found your spot. You need 4WD to get around the island but most of the ferry places have atv rentals. Only accessible by ferry/boat, call a few weeks ahead to…

Best site ever!

Being there in May might have made it - 70 and 80 - but what a nice campground with a very cool town 3 (flat) miles away.

No electric, plenty of sun, beach 300 yards over the dunes (hear it all night), and a very nice beach to boot!

In town try Helios for breakfast, Eduardos for lunch, Oyster…

Incredible

While we only stayed in this spot for a night, the place was absolutely amazing. We tent camped in section D and had direct access to the beach with our tent tucked behind the sand dunes. My only actual issue with the campground itself was our site had some residual trash left over from people…

Campground near Estuaries and the Beach--a Photographer's Dream

My wife and I stayed at this campground many years ago, and when I came this time, the changes were mind blowing. The first time, it was rustic with high grass, a dirt entry road, and most campers were in tents. This time, the landscaping was well manicured, there were paved roads throughout, and…

Camp on the sand - ORV Permit Required!

Yea, there's definitely no better way to camp. Start your adventure on a ferry, cross an inlet watching all the wildlife play right in front of you, then get off and drive immediately to endless stretches of white sandy beaches. See someone nearby, cool, whatever. Drive somewhere else and set camp.…

Really nice KOA in a VERY pretty town.

New Bern is a really wonderful little town on the coast of NC and this KOA is close to all the action. I really enjoyed our stay and the local town. We stayed in a camping cabin that overlooked the little pond area. The bathrooms were nice and clean and cabins were nicely appointed.
