I loved staying at the guard station! There is a spot to hang your hammock. You can relax by the fire pit or read a book on one of the two picnic tables provided.
Make sure to bring your own water.
This is such a lovely place to camp. The campsite has many trails going down to the lake. Fir trees are everywhere, and the campground is very clean.
Nice campground pit toilets by boat launch. Mosquitos are pretty thick campsites are by lake most have a path to the lake.

My boys thought this was the greatest spot we’ve ever found…. Site 53 was by far the best in the camp. Large fire pit, at the back of the campground, the creek was 10 ft from our tent. Trail for hiking right there and the cleanest bathrooms! Camp host was friendly and helpful with on questions…
We stayed just one night here on our way home from a 6 week outing. This KOA has something for everyone and every type of campsite you could ever imagine. It is very busy! We had a patio site near the office, overlooking a weedy bit near the stream. While you couldn’t see the water from the patio,…
This is a big KOA, right on the river, and really well taken care of. Super clean! Walking distance to downtown and the hot springs. Really nice staff.
This RV park is along side Bear Lake. A short stroll across the large beach and you can set up shade, have a relaxing day on the beach.
Pros: pretty creek, decent pool, and nice store.
Cons: lots of dead grass and weeds, trash in the fire pit, a full on junk yard on full display, and junk laying around.
Good enough for a stop over, but plenty of other places to try for multiple nights stay.
Really nice people. Helped us out in a jam. Clean bathrooms and showers. Full hook ups.
Came through at sundown looking for a place to camp with the RTT. Short drive to the Hot Springs. $48 for a tent spot. Full hookups. Tables and fire ring. On the river. Easy spot, but the trains are all night long and there is a crossing just over the highway from the resort…. So they honk for a…
How often do you get to say that you camped in the middle of a lava field and lava boulders? This first come campground gives you just that. Nice paved sites with picnic tables and grills. Nice paved, wheelchair accessible walkways to the visitors center. Flush toilets (a little old, but super…

Quaint place with full hookups and amenities. The men's bathroom was quite dirty but the owners were friendly and the wifi worked well.

The Lava Campground is very clean and is set in a little valley with beautiful mountains up close. The fire pits are great. The bathrooms and showers are super clean. They have the cutest retro campers you can stay in too! It’s within walking distance of the town. Great place to stay!
