Originally acquired by Patch and his fellow board members of the Gesundheit! Institute non-profit 501(c)3 in the 80's, this tract of land is the 3rd and final location of G!. The "Top of the Rock" campsite is situated on amazing ground! It's situated just above the largest waterfall on fabulous high travertine rock, but tucked away far enough to still retain privacy and seclusion from the main viewing area below, which is just a short walk down a gravel trail.  The rope bridge is also just a stones throw away. This stellar site has a full frontal view of the main water and creek basins below but is not right on top of the falls, so as to be too loud or too visible. And for the most part you are nestled under shade trees and are at the best crossroads on the property to take advantage of all the views and sites. Running water and outdoor shower are provided on site, as well as drive-up parking (4x4 recommended; 2x4 vehicles can park at the check-in barn if desired).

Our Signature sites come with everything offered through a Tentrr Signature Site as well as some cushy extras most do not: Generous fire wood: 2 battery LED lights, mint scented trash bags (to scare away the critters), lighter, fire starters, sponge, toilet paper, environmentally friendly coconut oil body wash & shampoo, bug spray, charcoal, butane burner, coffee percolator. Plates & utensil set can be purchased at cost. Bedding is also offered as an Extra. Each site is also sprayed with insect and bug repellant regularly. For those who need special accommodations or certain requests, please ask--we may be able to accommodate. None of our campsites are ADA-friendly, as they are in the woods, and in the hills around the Falls. We also provide portable, commercial Porto-O-John toilets at the check-in barn, & down near the Falls viewing area, which all guests may use. This site is one of two offered through Tentrr, & although this preserve is private and an exclusive property only for Tentrr & Airbnb guests, there may be other campers, fly fishers, or activity going on elsewhere by the Falls or on the land, as we are an active nature preserve. Most guests never see each other, nor are campsites visible from each other, but you do not have complete private control over the property through your reservation. Your booking only ensures that you have your site reserved. The property is open only to reserved guests, so there are no crowds. 

Depending on the weather and vehicle, you normally drive within yards of the campsite. In a two-wheel drive vehicle you may wish to park by the entrance in our designated area.

This is an exclusive Tentrr Signature campsite. Tentrr partners with land owners to offer unique accommodations in beautiful outdoor spaces. Our campsites are off-the-grid which means they generally do not have access to electricity, wifi, or modern plumbing. Instead, they offer the chance to relax, unplug, and fully experience nature! 

Your Tentrr campsite includes a 10'x12' (120 square feet) safari-style canvas tent on a raised wooden platform. Inside the tent you'll find one queen bed with a memory foam mattress. The tent is big enough for the bed plus one or two extra sleeping bags on the floor. Aside from the canvas tent, campers can also use the extra 5-person pop-up dome tent that___s provided. You'll also have a 6-ft picnic table, outdoor fire pit, and 2 Tentrr Adirondack chairs.

Max Occupancy: This refers to the total number of campers allowed onsite with your reservation. 

Toilets: Every campsite is equipped with a camp toilet (we call it the Tentrr Loo). This is a simple wooden box with a toilet seat and a bucket inside. To use, line the bucket with a CleanWaste Sani-Bag supplied at the camp prior to use. Afterwards, simply tie the bag up and place it in a trash bag. CleanWaste Sani-Bags use a NASA-developed gelling/deodorizing agent that helps prevent spills and keeps everyone safe and clean.

Showers: Every Signature campsite comes with a Coleman Sun Shower. The sun shower has a reservoir that holds up to 5 gallons of water, potentially enough for multiple showers. It's constructed of heat-locking material that warms the water when it's left in the sun, even on cool days.

Located above the wetlands & looking down on the beaver preserve, The Cattails is situated near a fabulous, federally protected wetland, the "Stick Marsh," which is not only full of cattails, but also beavers, muskrats, turtles, & many species of wildlife! View it all from this campsites dry, superb flat ground all while overlooking fabulous Dameron Mtn. Running water and outdoor shower are provided on site, as well as drive-up parking.

Nestled in the Alleghany Highlands of the Southern Valley of Virginia, Beaverdam Falls is an historic series of waterfalls at the headwaters of Dunlap Creek and serves as the terminus for Sweet Springs Creek. Surrounded by the verdant George Washington National Forest, our portion, the Upper Falls, consists of a constant waterfall of around 40-feet in height and numerous beautiful cascades peppered throughout our creek. The 60-acre private tract of unparalleled Virginia countryside will simply amaze and delight.  Sweet Springs Creek decorates our picturesque private property, and serves as a long trout stream of calcified rock, chalybeate water, and ancient beaver dams. Beaverdam Falls is a rare place for the lack of stone and the centuries of beavers who have left their trace in our creek and swamp, called the Stick Marsh, which has an active beaver dam. Be careful! They do bite! Beaverdam Falls is also home to an active lick for wildlife, and one can also stubble upon various small ponds and creeks that trickle out of our mountains. The rich biodiversity of the land also includes a gigantic sulphur cave that is as rare as the falls are beautiful. Beaverdam Falls are notable for not only the clear blue water, but also for the lore that surrounds their history. Gazed on by the Duke and Duchess of Windsor during their visit to America and fished by the likes of Robert E. Lee and even perhaps Thomas Jefferson, many notable people as well as local inhabitants have enjoyed the Falls for centuries during their visits to the famous spring resorts in the neighboring area. Tentrr Signature Site - Beaverdam Falls, The Cattails

The campground has 104 individual campsites and 10 group campsites. Each has a parking spur, tent pad, picnic table, fire ring and lantern post. Showers are accessible. All camping areas are served by restrooms with running water, flush toilets, hot showers and electricity (available during the summer season only). In the spring and fall, vault toilets and a hand pump well are available. 

The parking aprons are gravel and some are up to 20 feet wide. No electrical, sewage or water hook-ups are available, but there is a dump station on-site. Other amenities include a playground, picnic shelters and volleyball courts.

## Overview

Lake Sherwood Recreation Area is a complete family destination offering a wide variety of activities and camping options. Standard, tent-only and group camping facilities are perched along Lake Sherwood, the largest lake in the Monongahela National Forest.  
  
Swimming beaches, a picnic area, boat ramp and several hiking trails are among the features of the area.

## Recreation

Anglers seek tiger muskie, channel catfish, bullhead, bluegill and largemouth bass. Boating is a big draw as well.  
  
Hikers have the option of exploring Lake Sherwood Trail, Upper Meadow Trail, Meadow Mountain Trail and Meadow Creek.

## Facilities

Each campsite has a parking spur, tent pad, picnic table, fire ring and lantern post. Showers are accessible.  
  
All camping areas are served by restrooms with running water, flush toilets, hot showers and electricity (available during the summer season only). In the spring and fall, vault toilets and a hand pump well are available.

At an elevation of 2,600 feet, Lake Sherwood spans 156 acres. The recreation area is part Monongahela National Forest, which comprises about a million acres of forest in West Virginia, and attracts 1.3 million visitors each year.  
  
A variety of animals make their home here, including black bear, coyote, wild turkey, white-tailed deer, red and gray fox, bobcat, fisher, otter and mink. 

## Nearby Attractions

The Greenbrier Resort in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia is a 15 minute drive. The West Virginia State Fair, held in August each year, is located 30 minutes away in Lewsiburg, West Virginia.

Lake Sherwood

Bolar Mountain Recreation Area is a great destination for visitors looking for a fun getaway on Lake Moomaw. The area provides plenty of activities, including boating, fishing and hiking, as well as volleyball and a playground. Recreation Boating, canoeing, water skiing and relaxing on the beach are popular activities at the lake. Anglers fish for brown and rainbow trout, bass and crappie. A boat ramp is located at the Bolar Flat Marina, which has a modern dock with boat slips. Bolar Mountain boasts 11 miles of hiking trails that lead to two impressive scenic overlooks: Islands Overlook Spur and Grouse Point Overlook. Facilities Campsites are divided into three loops, the first of which has many sites with electric hookups. Picnic tables, lantern posts and campfire rings with grills are provided. Drinking water, flush toilets and showers are among the amenities at the campground. Natural Features The campground sits on the northern end of Lake Moomaw, a manmade lake covering 2,530 acres along the Jackson River. The lake's average depth is 80 feet and it has 43 miles of wooded shoreline. Bolar Mountain is part of the George Washington and Jefferson National Forests which span across Virginia and parts of West Virginia and Kentucky. These forests protect 40 tree species within mostly Appalachian hardwood and mixed pine-hardwood forests, 60 species of mammals and 200 species of birds. Bolar Mountain Recreation Area

Mountainous area close to national forests,whitewater,trout fishing, Has 6 large ponds in campground ,plenty of spectacular views and wildlife. enjoy sharing the land I love so much. Just minutes away from Cranberry back country ,Cranberry glades, Hillscreek falls and the highland scenic highway. 8 miles off of route 19 where you can enjoy Summersville Lake and Gauley River Whitewater. Just a few miles on down the road to the New River Gorge, where on an October day guests from around the world come to jump off a perfectly good bridge, with parachutes attached of course. Too many mountain streams to list all, where I myself enjoy fishing for our state fish Native brook trout. Cell service is sketchy in places, which I consider a plus if you want to enjoy all the beauty. My friend Rick Greene will take you and your family via mules and wagon to trout fish the Cranberry River, where no motor vehicles are permitted. Access only on foot, bike or horse. By appointment at cranberryadventures.com . Numerous walking trails and ATV trails. The Williams, Elk and Cranberry rivers are some of the best trout streams in the eastern U.S.



Beaver Lakes Campground

## Overview

Morris Hill is a peaceful, rustic campground for groups of family and friends. The family campground is a family-friendly destination perched on a ridge above Lake Moomaw. Kids can have fun at the playground while older generations sit back and relax in the shade. The group sites accommodate up the 25 guests with space for up to eight tents. Campers can enjoy the wonders of camping with simple pleasures like s'mores on the campfire, berry picking in the woods, and watching for waterfowl and wildlife like deer. The convenient location near Lake Moomaw and sandy swim beaches, a fishing pier, boat ramp, and hiking and biking trails makes Morris Hill a popular spot. 

## Recreation

An inviting swimming beach at Coles Point attracts many visitors. About less than a mile from the campground is a fishing pier where anglers seek brown and rainbow trout, bass and crappie. Back Creek is also nice for trout fishing. Hikers enjoy the Morris Hill Bike Trail and Fortney Loop Trail.

## Facilities

Family Campground: Most sites will fit any size RV. Campsite amenities include flush toilets, hot showers, a playground and drinking water. Group Sites: There is no water or electricity. Two fully accessible vault toilets, picnic tables and a group grill are on each group site. Coles Point Boat Ramp, the nearest boat ramp to Morris, is less than two miles away.

## Natural Features

The campground sits on a ridge overlooking Lake Moomaw. It is about a half-mile from the south end of the lake. Lake Moomaw, which flows from the Jackson River, is a cold-water 2,530-acre lake with an inviting swimming beach.   
  
Morris Hill is part of the George Washington and Jefferson National Forests which spans across Virginia and parts of West Virginia and Kentucky. These forests protect 40 species of trees that are mostly Appalachian hardwood and mixed pine-hardwood forests, 60 species of mammals and 200 species of birds.

Head downstream of the Jackson River for fly fishing, canoeing, rafting and kayaking. A half hour east of the lake is Hot Springs, Virginia, a quaint village known as a rural resort town.

The best camping near New River Gorge National River is anywhere you can find it. All campsites are primitive, first-come, first-served, and, best of all, free. Backcountry camping works the same way. You can park your van down by the river for free, as long as you’re self-sustaining. Amenities will be minimal at any of the nine campgrounds. Not all campgrounds are drive-in or RV accessible, so verify ahead of time. As long as you follow the park’s ordinances, you can camp here for up to 14 days. If you want more traditional lodging, there are a handful of cities nearby, but the main one is Beckley, WV.
