Top 10+ Campgrounds near Springdale, UT

Easy access dispersed campsites. Perfectly level in lower loop. Wind was relentless and despite nearly being May, it did snow a tiny bit today. We will return!

Great Campsite with trees and fire pits. You even have a great view. Also there is open range cows wondering.

It looked pretty busy when we arrived, but we soon found a spot on the first spur on the left up Sheep Bridge road - which is pretty washboarded but not an issue with our 2wd van and 22ft TT; just take it slow. The mountain biking around here is super; we enjoyed the Goosebumps and Hurricane Rim trails as a family (the latter was a challenge, but we all made it!) and I took a trip up to Gooseberry Mesa for the world class rides up there. Easy access to the excellent park and splash pad in Hurricane and 40 mins to Zion NP. A great spot!

Nice place for a day or two, even better if you're here for the OHV park. You can park in the trees for a little privacy, or in the open to stay with a group, or to get that extra solar kick.

There are no designated sites, so it's kind of a free for all, show up and plop down wherever makes sense. Which seems to have some people stopping "in the road" and calling it good.

The bugs were impressive. As night falls you will see so many bats. That's your first indication. After that if you've got a light on, prepare to be swarmed. Seems to be a mix of mosquitoes and gnats at least at this time of year. Your trash will also get some roaches pretty quick, so plan to take care of that for any containers you plan to reuse.

I said a lot of bad things, but once the parties and drivers calm down, it's pretty darned nice and peaceful. No lights and a little bug spray and you're going to have a good night. You'll probably get awoken by the birds before the drivers start in.

This area was the beginning of an adventure. And it feels somewhat adventurous for a "starting point". Sites are spaced far enough apart to where you rarely even recognize movement from the other sites, but you don't really feel "alone" if that is what you're after. The views are insane, sunrise to sunset. The one knock is the wind.. look, I get it, desert camping. On a mostly flat plain. Wind is going to be a thing. But if it stayed at a gentle breeze, this would be 5 stars all day! It comes and goes throughout the day sometimes a slow ramp up, sometimes a sudden gust. It rarely feels "dangerous" though one gust popped a tarp (old tarp or strong wind.. dunno) scared the bazeesus out of us.

Verizon cell service almost full bars. Plenty of space where even if you can see your neighbors they're far enough away. It was nice and quiet. Someone left dog poop but whatever. There are quite a few spots with fire pits made with big rocks. Perfect for my and my doggo! We camp in my 4runner. There is a mix of soft sand and rocks as far as the ting would go, but wouldn't take too much effort to clear a soft area of sleeping on the ground. Basically no wind 🥳

There’s not a ton of spots, but plenty of space for the number of people camping. We weren’t pulling a trailer so we could pull the van up on a ledge towards the back. 4x4 not required, but I could see it being dodgy if it wasn’t dry.

Over the years we have used this campground many times with family and friends. It’s our quick little getaway. We have camped at both the campground inside Three Peaks and the Large group campground to the south of the main entrance into Three Peaks

The state park itself is stunning--loved the trails! The campground, however, is lacking. The sites themselves were clean (some sites are closer to other sites than others--look at the campground map before booking if you prefer space). The shower/restroom facilities weren't clean, old-looking, no electrical outlets, and offered little privacy. The shower requires holding down a chain to operate (annoying!)... the bathroom doors had holes instead of handles... and if you're tall, you can totally see into other shower stalls. Cell service is hit or miss.

Peaceful stay in the Dixie National Forest on FR901. Lots of space between the other couple campers we saw on this stretch of the road. The area we stayed in was a bit grassy and lava rock-y, which is wildly different and a nice change from the red sandy areas we've been in lately. Birds were singing all around--loved it! Good cell service.

We had a pleasant, quiet stay on a Sunday night. Bathrooms/Showers are new and clean. Cell service was great. Reserved online, which adds a whopping $8 reservation fee, but we didn't want to show up to a full campground if we didn't reserve (and it was full on a Sunday night in early April.) The fee brought our total to $48 for one night at a Standard Partial-Hookup RV Site. Camp host texted prior to arrival to confirm our stay and let us know when the site would be ready.

This pull off is in the middle of a 7% down grade. So it can be challenging with traffic to make the turn. With that being said it is a beautiful area.

While the time I stayed here there were several people. The road is rough I would recommend a high clearance vehicle to be able to drive farther. We don't have that so we were limited on how far we were willing to drive down the rough dirt road.

You can still hear the road noise but it's nothing too bad.

Decent location if you get a spot on the river. They include shade from trees and firepits at most spots near the river. A little bit of a strange experience with broken glass at our site, a dog biting a child which resulted in adults screaming at each other for a while and it smelled like someone was burning feces a couples times while we were there (3 nights). Aside from that, decent distance to the park and enjoyed our river spot. Not many private places to poo since it’s so close to the road with little vegetation
