Mineral Bottom Camping

This was a great and unique camping spot! Pros: Had water and tree coverage, also lots of great off roading, also not a lot of people Cons: kinda sketchy one way road to get into the canyon, wouldn't recommend bringing a camper or big rig, other than that this is a great little spot. And if you r feeling adventurous u can explore some old mines there also. There is also a back way into Canyonlands from the base if u go left.

Easy to find and ok

The place has great potential, we took a spot late at night and without thinking too much. It was fine. We saw better spots driving out. Quiet (just few cars). If you stay here catch the sunrise at dead horse point. Stunning.

Nice Quiet Stay

These sites were on the way into Canyonlands National Park and still very close to Arches. Stayed here 3 nights in a row and I was the only one there. Very quiet and super close to the parks.

Quiet, remote, close to the Dead Horse Point and Island in the Sky Park

We have a 2022 Ford Transit 250 van.  Our van was easily able (low speed) to drive this hard packed dirt road.  We saw 2 groups of campers on the way in and additional camper when we drove out the next morning.  Several nice spots to camp off of smaller dirt/sand side roads About 2.5 miles in, on the right side, we camped.  Pretty nice spot.  The night sky was good to see stars.  There were gnats but after sunset they were gone.  I would recommend this place.  Our rating is actually a 3.5/5.

Quiet stay

Quick and easy spots to get to close to the park!

Not too many people driving down the road during my stay.

Quiet and peaceful

There are lots of places to camp all along the road. The farther you drive the sketchier the road gets - but we made it in our camper van without too much of an issue. It’s very quiet and the stars are incredible. Nice views in every direction

Views are hit and miss in this area

Views are hit and miss in the general area. Most spot have average wide open views to distant rocks formations. There is no internet access with AT&T in the entire area until you get down close to highway 191.

Easy and private

Easy access. We are in a awd Sprinter, but any vehicle driven slow will work. Many open spots, despite arriving on a Saturday evening. Would definitely come again. Buggy though. And an ok view, but not spectacular. Some trees for shade which is good since today it was 104.

Close to Canyonlands NP

A long drive down a dirt road, but without 4WD we made it easily and found a spot about 1 mile away from the main road. Amazing sunset views and no neighbors.

Solid desert dispersed camping, close to Canyonlands NP

I found this area to have plenty of attractive sites on the rougher side roads off of the main Mineral Bottom road. The side spurs we explored were fine in a Subaru Outback but a trailer may have been questionable. Midweek we mostly had cows for company, but on Friday the area filled in - including some recreational shooters.

Remote dispersed

The Mineral Bottom Road leaves hwy 313 and goes west for 10 miles or so and is the exit road for the white rim multiday trips. Vehicles are parked at the hwy jct for white rim trips to finish the 100 mi loop. However the Mineral Bottom Road also has dispersed camping along the road. The road is a wide graded native surface road. Camping is on the side spurs which tend to be two track sandy or rocky roads that are better suited to overlander types. There are some RV or TT sites but a recon is advised before going down a narrow sandy road. The BLM has special rules for dispersed camping here and camping is prohibited for first .75 miles from Hwy 313. Cell signal is limited to none as the cell towers are up by the I70 freeway.
