    Comanche trail park campground

    Good stop

Small area in local park. Not for big rigs. Comanche has a pond, disc golf, playgrounds and trails that are nice. Lot of trash around tho. 3 days max.

    Quiet, peaceful night

We were greeted by the very friendly and welcoming owner, who showed us to our site and stayed until he was sure we would not have any issues at the site. The site was level and the hookups were in very good condition. The site was not too close to neighbors, but did not have a table.  The park was mostly dirt with many nice trees typical of this region. There were a few toys around for children and an occasional bench to sit on. The park made for a nice evening stroll.

The RV park is conveniently located near the highway, but not too close. Highway noise was present, but distant and not a bother. There were trains that came through, but no whistles blew. We hardly noticed them and they did not disturb our sleep. The park was quiet and peaceful overall.

We only had 1 bar LTE with Verizon but had no issues with calls or using our hotspot.

This was a very nice place to stay a night while traveling. We will stay again when traveling this way. The owner let us know that March would be a good time to visit as nearby Sweetwater hosts its annual rattlesnake roundup.

    Great spot to nap

My husband and I are on a very long road trip. Last night around 3:30 am we were getting extremely tired and needed to make a stop for some sleep. All of the rest areas were completely full, the normal camp sites were not able to be booked and so we pulled up the Dyrt for a last minute free spot. The area was not hard to find, the stars are breathtaking, it was nice and very quite. I didn’t see much trash at all ether! It is simply a great place to stop for the night. We woke up to a very nice sun rise of wind turbines and a lake with duckies! Simply amazing.

    One night stop

RV hook ups are water and electric. There is an unmarked dump site. See the website. Only 5 rigs here. Sites are not clearly marked but lots of space. We had good AT&T service. Bathrooms are flush toilets with no TP. No shower.

    Farmer owned

We called the site and the owner was out cotton farming. Very friendly and trusting. We checked our selves in and deposited cash in the drop box. Got a military discount Site is a little disorganized could use some updating. Only thing it didn’t have was tv but the internet was excellent

Could be really nice with a little work

I planned to stay here longer to explore the area, but with the combination of high winds and the set up here, I only stayed the night. Three sites are not clearly marked, so it's pretty confusing. The bathrooms were padlocked shut. The sign says to pay away the golf course. I arrived after dark, so I planned to do that in the morning, but someone was knocking at my door at 7:30 am to collect the fee. I didn't much care for that. It outs cheap, though, only $15/ night with hook ups.

    Ruddick City Park

    Unknown Gem

My husband found Ruddick Park on google maps n checked their website n it is open 24 hours.

Beautiful park on 138 acres, geese n ducks in the pond, pavilion, fire pit, amphitheater. The area by the lid building n trail states no camping otherwise no signage.

NO services so if you stay please leave no trace.

    Quiet area with minimal noise.

Texas RV Park of Big Spring

    Old and Rough

Roads are full of potholes. Grasses have goat heads in them. No WiFi what ever and no help from front office or manager- blamed their service provider. In my opinion, Park has made no improvements since opened. One good thing was that the men’s shower had great hot water! Looked like 40+ % of spaces occupied by full-timers. Most visitors stayed only one night.

Nice lake in the middle of no where

Nice place to ride. OHV area is located on the top of the hill. A lot of trails to ride. Views are great. Not many people there during the week.

    Rough

Had reservation, no email info, which would have been nice as there is no office. Pulled in trying to find out how to check in? Tight road with heavy trees. Had to make a tight turn when someone finally showed up to assist, ended up scraping my roof. This was my fault but had I had some insight before had would have been an easier process. Very rough site, with large ruts making it hard to put class A back tires firmly on the ground. Nice lady took payment, would problem not stay again.

    Not what I was expecting

I was planning at camping at this site for 3 days. Upon arrival there was no tress what so ever so bring a canopy shade or something. The view was great though. Also if you are going to sleep in a tent use stakes that are designed for clay as the ground is very hard. All in all was not a bad idea to just chill and let my dog explode around.

    Simple, peaceful, great sunsets

We only had a one night stopover here on the way from Dallas to Lubbock but truly enjoyed it. The owner got us backed in and then returned with some peaches for us later on. Made us feel right at home and we will definitely return!

    Very nice host

The park was not too far off the highway, so traffic noise was prevalent, but after dark it wasn't bad. The owner/host personally helped us to our site and assisted with hook-ups. He said he had plans to enlarge the park. Nice enough for an overnighter, and we would use it again.

    OK for a night travelling

300 yds off the freeway so it's kinda noisy. It's better than a rest stop tho. $42 a night, 30/50amp and full hookups. Laundry, showers and bathrooms onsite. Hosts are hard to contact after 5.

    A little below average

Stayed one night here on Pass Port America. Sites were so close together that neighbors sewer and electric and water were in your front yard. Sites were gravel and very un level. Laundry room was out of service, showers were not taken care of. Electric was very marginal, had lots of problems sound system after this park. Learned lesson here, bought Progressive Industry EMS. I would not recommend more than maybe one night stay at this park.

    Sorry don’t have pictures.
