Come hitch your rig up at the Hitchin’ Post RV Park and Cabins then kick up your heels for some West Texas hospitality. Stay for a day or two… or a while. We have full hook-ups at all of our Texas sized RV sites, 50 and 30 amp electricity and Free Wifi. Want to get away, but don’t have an RV or don’t want to bring it this time, no worries, we have 4 fully furnished cabins. And you can sit out on the large porch and watch the stars all night if you want to. If camping in a tent is more your style, we have just the spot, or 10 to be exact. And we even throw in the added convenience of a nightlight and a set of outlets at each tent site, to charge your cell phone (so you don’t have to go completely off the grid on your camp out).

Nice for a quick stop through

We only stayed one night while on our way through the area but it was convenient for the use of bathrooms and shower. Has an indoor pool and little recreational center. There are things close by if you need a Walmart or quick bite.

Clean, convenient place to stop for the night.

Clean place to stop for the night, while traveling through.  It was a good value in terms of price. Fairly quiet at night.

One item to consider is that the back side of the park, right off the main (busy) road, was not fenced.  So, it may be a consideration if you are traveling with kids, pets or by yourself.  Did feel safe, overall.

    Quick overnight

This was actually my first time staying at a KOA facility. Late checkin was very easy and I had no problem finding the site at night. Place was pretty full but I still felt like I had my own space. Will definitely stay here again when passing through.

    Pretty nice Journey KOA

We’ve stayed at some rough journey koas before, but this one was pretty nice. The only down side was you could hear trains at night and it was close 84 and you could hear road traffic. Other than that it was clean and the sites were easily marked.

    Nicest KOA

Nicest KOA I've been at lately. Pulled into a fast and friendly check in process. Clean campground, indoor pool, and homemade BBQ and fixings offered wonderful. Highly recommend

    Good Park

I stayed here for one overnight stop. The sites were small in my opinion but they had a good dog park and we’re friendly and it was a safe campground.

    Great view

Amazing time while there for a week. We spent most of our time traveling around the area to Lubbock. The campground is quite and spacious. The staff was great. We decided to leave a few days early and they refunded us the nights we didn’t stay.

    Functional but LOUD

Has the standard KOA amenities (bathroom, shower, laundry, etc), but also has a hot tub, indoor pool, and a pretty decent offering of supplies for sale in the main office.

The downside here, and why it loses stars, is that it is right next to a busy highway, which is loud ALL night. It sounded like a semi truck going through my living room, which it basically was. Also next to train tracks, where the trains blow horn passing through. I somehow managed to sleep through a lot of it, but any light sleeper won’t get a wink. I was in a tent so maybe RV dampens the sound somewhat, but it was ridiculous that they put a place for people to sleep right next to such constant and intense noise.

The shower house could use some maintenance, and the front desk lady quipped that they should put a TV in the laundry room but someone would just steal it, which didn’t instill confidence about the safety of the campground.

    Parking lot

Good water pressure. Good amount of space between sites. ‘bout all I can say good about it. Call for res — do not use online system as you will be charged $5 for booking online. This should have been disclosed before payment. On second thought don’t reserve at all as there are plenty of empty spaces. Hard to get to from SB I-27 exit 51. I should have followed GPS to get off at exit 53. I was towing a car so had to pull through to clear road (almost clear). Since hook-ups are at the rear of the site I had to leave the toad in the road just a little and use two sewer hoses. 25’ water hose barely reached. Site is long enough and gravel covered. However when I pulled-through I had to drive on a field of dirt to leave. Glad it dint rain. I suppose $40 (35 Goodsam) isn’t too bad just don’t expect much.

    Great Stay for Travelers

A good KOA! Some shade, nice staff,, picnic tables, an indoor pool, a hot tub, and a nice little walk around the park all make this place a good stay. Not too crowded and not overpriced. A good place to take kids it seems, big playground right next to the pool. Our pups loved it too. Thanks Lubbock KOA!
