Best Cabin Camping near Lubbock, TX

Lubbock KOA offers furnished cabin rentals with year-round availability for travelers seeking alternatives to tent or RV camping. These cabins provide climate-controlled accommodations with basic amenities including electricity, beds, and access to shared facilities. According to visitor Katie H., the KOA features "nice staff, picnic tables, an indoor pool, a hot tub, and a nice little walk around the park," making it suitable for families with children. The Hitchin' Post RV Park and Cabins, located near Hallsville, provides another cabin option with clean facilities and spacious surroundings. Both locations maintain pet-friendly policies, allowing cabin guests to bring their dogs while enjoying the convenience of on-site amenities.

Rustic cabins and more deluxe units are available depending on the location, with prices typically ranging from $40-50 per night. The Lubbock KOA cabins receive consistently positive reviews for cleanliness and convenience, with one visitor noting it was "not too crowded and not overpriced." Late check-in options are available at some locations, with Sean S. reporting, "Late checkin was very easy and I had no problem finding the site at night." Noise considerations exist at the Lubbock KOA due to its proximity to highways and train tracks, which light sleepers should factor into their planning. Reservations are recommended, particularly during peak travel seasons or for weekend stays.

Most cabin rentals provide beds but require guests to bring their own linens, pillows, and toiletries. Kitchen facilities vary between properties, with some offering only basic amenities while others may include small refrigerators or microwaves. The Lubbock KOA maintains an on-site store where campers can purchase forgotten items or basic groceries. Bathroom and shower facilities are typically shared among cabin guests unless booking premium cabin options. Visitors planning extended stays should bring cooking supplies, food storage containers, and any specialty items needed during their stay, as cabin kitchens are generally minimal compared to full vacation rentals.

    Great Stay for Travelers

A good KOA! Some shade, nice staff,, picnic tables, an indoor pool, a hot tub, and a nice little walk around the park all make this place a good stay. Not too crowded and not overpriced. A good place to take kids it seems, big playground right next to the pool. Our pups loved it too. Thanks Lubbock KOA!

The Hitchin' Post RV Park and Cabins

    Parking lot

Good water pressure. Good amount of space between sites. ‘bout all I can say good about it. Call for res — do not use online system as you will be charged $5 for booking online. This should have been disclosed before payment. On second thought don’t reserve at all as there are plenty of empty spaces. Hard to get to from SB I-27 exit 51. I should have followed GPS to get off at exit 53. I was towing a car so had to pull through to clear road (almost clear). Since hook-ups are at the rear of the site I had to leave the toad in the road just a little and use two sewer hoses. 25’ water hose barely reached. Site is long enough and gravel covered. However when I pulled-through I had to drive on a field of dirt to leave. Glad it dint rain. I suppose $40 (35 Goodsam) isn’t too bad just don’t expect much.

    Functional but LOUD

Has the standard KOA amenities (bathroom, shower, laundry, etc), but also has a hot tub, indoor pool, and a pretty decent offering of supplies for sale in the main office.

The downside here, and why it loses stars, is that it is right next to a busy highway, which is loud ALL night. It sounded like a semi truck going through my living room, which it basically was. Also next to train tracks, where the trains blow horn passing through. I somehow managed to sleep through a lot of it, but any light sleeper won’t get a wink. I was in a tent so maybe RV dampens the sound somewhat, but it was ridiculous that they put a place for people to sleep right next to such constant and intense noise.

The shower house could use some maintenance, and the front desk lady quipped that they should put a TV in the laundry room but someone would just steal it, which didn’t instill confidence about the safety of the campground.

    Great view

Amazing time while there for a week. We spent most of our time traveling around the area to Lubbock. The campground is quite and spacious. The staff was great. We decided to leave a few days early and they refunded us the nights we didn’t stay.

Clean, convenient place to stop for the night.

Clean place to stop for the night, while traveling through.  It was a good value in terms of price. Fairly quiet at night.

One item to consider is that the back side of the park, right off the main (busy) road, was not fenced.  So, it may be a consideration if you are traveling with kids, pets or by yourself.  Did feel safe, overall.

Nice for a quick stop through

We only stayed one night while on our way through the area but it was convenient for the use of bathrooms and shower. Has an indoor pool and little recreational center. There are things close by if you need a Walmart or quick bite.

A basic KOA with a nice pool and camp store. Not bad for $44.00 a night
