Best Campgrounds near Euless, TX

Camping options within a 30-mile radius of Euless, Texas center primarily around several reservoir-based parks and state recreation areas. Cedar Hill State Park, located southwest of Dallas on Joe Pool Lake, provides over 300 wooded campsites with a mix of modern amenities and primitive options. Nearby, Loyd Park in Grand Prairie offers lakeside camping with full hookups for RVs and cabins for those seeking more comfort. The Vineyards Campground on Grapevine Lake and Hickory Creek Park on Lewisville Lake both feature waterfront sites that remain popular year-round, with electrical hookups and boat access being common amenities. Most campgrounds in the region maintain a balance between natural settings and proximity to urban conveniences.

Reservations are essential at most established campgrounds, particularly during spring and summer weekends when temperatures are favorable for water activities. Many campers note the paradoxical experience of feeling removed from urban life while remaining close to metropolitan amenities. As one visitor to Hickory Creek observed, "The location feels secluded from the city but close to the highway so you can be in the city within a few minutes drive." Summer heat can be intense, with temperatures regularly exceeding 95°F from June through September. Aircraft noise from nearby DFW airport is noticeable at several campgrounds, particularly those on Grapevine and Lewisville Lakes. Cell service is generally reliable throughout the area, making these campgrounds suitable for remote workers.

Lakefront sites consistently receive the highest ratings from visitors, with many campers highlighting the shade trees and water access as key features. Wildlife viewing opportunities include deer, particularly at Ray Roberts Lake State Park slightly farther north, and various waterfowl at most lake properties. Tent campers should note that some parks like Willow Grove have walk-in sites requiring short hikes from parking areas. For those seeking more seclusion, the LBJ National Grasslands about an hour northwest of Euless offers primitive dispersed camping with fewer amenities but greater privacy. Weekday visits typically provide a quieter experience, as one camper noted: "The park seems to be well-known amongst locals, so on the weekends it's especially crowded."

    The Vineyards

    A must stay!!!

In a very nice campground with spacious FHU sites that are concrete pads and level. Great views of the lake. A well equipped campground store with lots of items. Clean large bathrooms and showers as well as a laundry room. Have events throughout the week for social activities for adults and kids. Great hosts and a very well kept campground. Definitely a place to stay overnight or a week.

    Lake Park Campground

    Quiet and Peaceful

Check in was simple. Kasey and Shane are wonderful. Convenient to the lake. Easy access to stores and I 35. There is a parking lot for your boat or jet skis within the campground. The sites for 30 amp and smaller campers are closer to the water. 50 amp and larger campers are in the shade. I am not certain of fees for park entry. Website says that day use area is included in the amenities, but had to pay the entry fee yesterday.

    Patriot RV Park

    Comfortable stay

Stayed for two months for my husband's work. Park manager, Becky, was helpful and nice. They have a saltwater pool, dog park, laundry room, shower/bathrooms, trees/landscaping and access to a boat ramp. Some sites are a bit tight. We were in the top part of the campground and had no issues with it being real wet. Have heard that the lower area does have pooling of water with heavy rain. It does go away quickly, but should be aware of this if you have lots of outside things or a pet. Would stay here again.

    Hunter Park

I had a great time here

Hunter Park in Texas is truly a great destination for those who love camping. I had the opportunity to experience and feel the fresh air and peace here. Although the terrain is relatively flat and the trees are sparse, the closeness to nature made me feel relaxed. The weather can change quite dramatically, so I recommend being well prepared. A big plus is its proximity to Dinosaur Valley State Park and Lake Granbury, where you can enjoy activities like hiking and boating. Hunter Park is truly the perfect place for those looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of life!

    Hunter Park

    Peaceful

It’s a pretty awesome place to camp and it’s really quiet. There are restrooms but no water or electricity but they are really good at maintaining the restrooms (stocked with toilet paper and keeping it clean) they are particular about you only staying 10 days so just be mindful of that.

Lyndon B. Johnson National Grassland Dispersed Camping

    Worked Well for Overnight

Was transiting between central Texas toward Colorado in an off-grid TT and didn’t want to venture far off 287 for a comfortable, quiet & safe place to stay for the night. Taking the Trinity exit north off the loop around Decatur and using the navigation to the LBJ Grasslands to Park Rd 904 access was easy (& scenic). Once inside you could tell there’d been recent rain but the wet areas were easily avoided. Sites are spacious and we soon found a pretty great vista view from which the spectacular sunset was just a great bonus. Will make a note to use this stop en route out of the central part of the state going west for future trips.
