What to do
Hiking trails at Heritage Farms: Situated within a working Christmas tree farm, this unique camping destination connects to the Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath. "Located about ½ mile off the Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath, this campground is a part of a 5th generation working farm. Both standard campsites and shelters are available and are scattered among a working Christmas Tree farm," notes one camper at Heritage Farms.
Kayaking at Nimisila Reservoir: The 800-acre reservoir offers excellent kayaking opportunities with no gas motors allowed. "Nimisilin seems perfectly poised for those eager to launch kayaks, stand up paddle boards, and boats with small motors. I saw several people fishing, and at least a dozen people out on the water," reports a visitor to Nimisila Reservoir Metro Park Campground.
Mountain biking at Findley State Park: The park features numerous trails designed for mountain biking enthusiasts. "There are quite a few trails and a lake with a beach for swimming. It can get fairly crowded if you are here with a trailer that requires electrical hookups since there are only so many sites available with electric," explains a camper at Findley State Park Campground.
