Office Lied

We were told if we arrived by 9 PM we could have a campsite. We arrived at 8:50 and the office was closed. We had no where to sleep due to the fact that we had trusted the person in the office who lied to us.

Nice Area

The beach was a very nice place to spend the day. The lake was very warm and the swimming area had a nice depth gradient to satisfy good and not-so-good swimmers. The water was clean and the texture of the lake floor was comfortable for wading. There are flush toilets at the beach with a concession…

Great campground.

Great place to stay!! Everything is black topped. Sites are very long, water hydrants are boxed in with stone. So, if it drips a little it won't get muddy. Sewer hook up is flush to the ground with a manhole cover over it. Won't drive over it & break it. Fire ring & picnic tables on every…

Toto I don't think we in Kansas anymore

The staff were very friendly and helpful. Other campers were also very friendly and helpful...We didn't get to experience much of the campground because we were only there long enough to set the camper up and really it wasn't even fully up when a tornado went through. Campground was basically not…

Large but nice

Overall, a nice place to stay for a short visit. Much of the park is occupied by Seasonal and Full timers. There are 4 lakes so fishing, row boating, etc. is popular… so were the mosquitoes 😉 Rough dirt road into the park but otherwise well laid out once you understand all the “loops”. 2 man-made…

Large sites but feels crowded

The first thing to note is the long dirt road that you will travel to get to the campground. It’s really rough, we went about 12 mph.

Upon arrival the campground staff was very friendly and got us all checked in and set up with gate cards. The campground is also all dirt roads so it’s a slow go.…

Quite an unpleasant drive to the campsite

We stopped here for the night on our way to Indiana. It rained on us the entire time which made the drive to the site even worse. It’s a very bumpy, dirt road. It may not have been as bad without the rain. Once we arrived at our site, we realized we didn’t have a long enough cord to plug in! A lot…

Nice, quiet campground

This is a smaller campground with some full timers or seasonal campers. We stayed a week and enjoyed our time there. We had lots of rain so we didn’t get outside as much as we wanted. The sites were grassy and mostly level. Trees added shade throughout. The laundry room was older but clean and less…

Pontiac Lake Rec RV Site

Booked a two week stay at Pontiac Lake Rec. area in Whitelak, MI. Huge sites not stacked on top of one another. They have electric hookups, but only 30 amp. No water or sewage at the camp site but available within the park. Grounds are kept very clean and it has been a rather quiet stay even in…

Peaceful, well run campground

We thoroughly enjoyed the campgrounds- especially our lakefront full hookup 😊

The staff was extremely accommodating after I discovered my booking error - they worked diligently to make me a happy camper 😂.

The entire campground was well kept; the bathrooms, the grounds, and the laundry…

Friendly Camping Community

Stayed at Camp Lord Willing in June 2021 and it was a peaceful friendly environment with seasonal and experienced campers.

  • Lots are gravel
  • Shower House is at the front and not in a centralized location
  • Staff is awesome!
  • Great location for several places to visit in Michigan

Clean, spacious, fairly private with lots of activity options

We've camped at Maumee Bay State Park twice and enjoyed it both times.  The campground is part of a larger resort complex that includes a hotel, marina, a nice beach on Lake Erie, a second beach on an inland lake, golf course, mowed hiking trails and - our favorite - about 5 miles of beautiful,…

Quick and relaxing get away right out of the city

I had no clue what to expect when booking so close to a few major cities in Michigan. I love feeling secluded while camping and was nervous this would feel like parking lot camping. But, it was AMAZING. For a short drive, I got a huge campsite, a lake view, very clean bathrooms, well kept hiking…

Great for kids

This is a great campground. There are a lot of things for kids to do including a swimming pond, playground, basketball, volleyball, and a catch and release fish pond. There are a couple pull through sites but most are back in and easily fit just about any rig. There are two bath houses and a dump…
