    La Paz County Park

    Great Park along the river

Stopped here for an overnight. Mostly snowbirds who looked settled in for the winter. A few sites along the river with cabanas. Sites have water and electric, but no sewer. A little cramped and not private at all, but are pretty long for pull throughs. There are private RV parks on both sides of it that have restaurant/bars on the water that you can walk to which is a great feature. Great location.

Only gave it 4 stars not 5 because it has "government park" qualities, but is a great place for the price.

Flat spots, quiet and great views

Right off Palm Canyon road. Lots of flat spots to choose from. Our low clearance 2WD had no problem. Some traffic heading to Palm Canyon trail but not too bad and just during the day.

    Dispersed BLM

This is an open BLM camping area. The access is between Mike 134 and 133 on AZ hwy 95. It is about 11 miles south of Parker, AZ. You cross a cattle guard to access, then head down a dirt road. You can camp anywhere, but the better spots are after the second cattle guard. Cell service for Verizon is 3 to 4 bars. It is quiet from campers, but you can hear traffic on hwy 95. Services are close by in Parker, AZ, including dumping stations and water filling stations. There are several dumpsters around town, and a transfer station. This area is about 25 miles north of Quartzsite, AZ.

    Good ,could be great

This is a cool spot and it’s much quieter than plasmas road or spots closer to quartzite. There’s only about 20 spots and they are all pretty decent. We have come several weekends and on holidays and still got great spots. Views are excellent . Here’s the only issue. There are full timers not moving after 14 days as is required by law. Some have really set up shop and this visit we are near someone who is running their generator all day and into the night. They have dogs off leash that they are leaving outdoors to roam and poop wherever. Now most everyone who is here is cool and nice but there are some really cool spots that I would like to camp at that someone has basically claimed. I do t want to be the “ Karen”, sorry all of you named Karen, but is there anyone we can call that might be able to enforce some rules. I would prefer these area be in supervised and there not ever need TK be rangers patrols g etc but that requires everyone to follow the rules. I will say it’s o my one area that of this site that this seems to be an issue and it certainly my didn’t ruin our time there. We still had a great time and DJ really live this area

    Great Desert Camping Option

We drove by Quartzsite and decided that was not for us. It looked like a commune in the desert.

We decided to camp here and liked it enough to stay 3 nights. There was some freeway noise but not that noticeable once you get 100 yards away from the freeway.

We found a very secluded spot and did not see a sole the entire time we were here. We felt safe and secluded.

There was a big beautiful fire ring. You are not allowed to gather firewood here so pick some up before leaving town. Also fires are only allowed from October to March.

If the weather is not too cold, its a great option for winter camping.

One thing to remember about this place. There is only one store nearby and it is has the highest prices I have ever seen. They have a good selection but you will not like paying that much.

    Overflow Nice!

The campground was booked but the overflow doesn’t need reservations. Just drive in. The over flow is better in my opinion because it is paved and the regular campsites are not paved. 20 spots in overflow. Showers unlocked. Drinking water tap available in overflow lot as well. Well worth the $20

    FREE AWESOMENES!!!!!

FREE & SPACIOUSNESS! Lots of places to park without being on top of the neighbors. Closest camper is over 400 yards away. Great views in all directions and only 3.5 miles to Palm Canyon. PC is the ONLY place in AZ where Palm trees are native. Apparently they have been growing in this secluded spot since this whole area was under water. Think of the song "Beach Front Property in Arizona".... Anyway, something cool to see. It's less than 4 miles off AZ-95 on a dirt road followed by a 1/2 mile VERY EASY hike from the parking area.

    Hippie Hole Camping Area

Hidden Gem for River and Nature Lovers

Hippie Hole is a fantastic boondocking spot with easy access to the Colorado River and plenty of nearby walking trails. The campground is right next to the Cibola Wildlife Preserve, making it perfect for anyone who loves nature and wildlife.

Getting There: If you’re using Google Maps, I recommend skipping the first suggested right turn into the campground and instead pulling in the other entrance across from Baseline Road. This route is much wider and less steep, making it a safer option—especially for larger rigs.

Planning Ahead: The closest town is Blythe, about 30 minutes north, so stock up before arriving. That said, there’s a little store just down Baseline Road with last-minute essentials. The staff there are incredibly kind; they even gave us some free, fresh lemons during our visit!

The Campground: Technically, there’s a 14-day stay limit, but it’s clear that many campers spend most of the winter here. Vault toilets are available, though they come with their fair share of spider friends. There’s supposed to be weekly trash pickup, but it’s inconsistent, so we packed out as much as we could. If you plan to stay a while, be prepared to manage your own trash.

The Vibe: The relaxed, friendly atmosphere makes this spot stand out. You’ll find a mix of travelers and snowbirds enjoying the simple life here. The easy river access and proximity to wildlife make it ideal for kayaking, fishing, and birdwatching.

Overall, Hippie Hole is a laid-back spot for those seeking a peaceful retreat surrounded by nature. Just plan ahead and pack out your trash to keep this gem clean and enjoyable for everyone!
