    Mammoth Creek RV Resort

Spacious, Grassy, two sided dog park. Breed Inclusive!

This is a Great place! I love that they are pet friendly and not breed restrictive. I have a pit mix (who's just a big ole teddy bear) and you know how that can often make travel and lodging difficult.  I love that he is welcome here. They have a big grassy dog park for him to run and play in, he loves running in the sprinklers! Its two sided and completely fenced in so large and small breeds can have their own safe space to play in. I really appreciate the picnic benches to sit on for the parents. For me this is a huge benefit and I recommend this park for any pet owner!

    Wonderland RV Park

    Nice spot

Fairly private for a camp ground, at least where we parked, next to the dog park. Great spot within walking distance of restaurants, clean, dog friendly

    Love's RV Hookup-Fillmore UT 835

    Parking Lot Hook Up Site

This is in the back of the Loves Travel Center. It has 2 super nice dog parks that are fenced in.

It is loud since it’s in a gas station parking lot. Back in site only. All cement pads no sitting areas or places to be outside. Kind of weird cause people can just walk through and use the dog park around your RV.

People park in the RV spots. Not a secured location. Stopped here to sleep on our drive home. Left before dark.

No RV park showers or laundry facilities. Pay extra for the Truck stop showers (did not use)

    Panguitch KOA

    Panguitch, UT KOA

This is a super family-friendly campground and with so many "camping" options! There are full hook-up RV sites, cabins, and pre-assembled tent structures in various sizes. Amenities include: Swimming pool, playground, dog park, laundry, restrooms with showers, and Wi-Fi. It's a little close to the main street of the town, but that makes it easy to find!

    Hitch-N-Post RV Campground

    Nice RV park and town

Henrie's Hitch n Post is a nice campground. They are currently updating the park with concrete pads, more spaces, and new amenities. The laundry room is clean. The bathrooms and showers are new! They hold a weekly bon fire, and offer morning coffee (sometimes with baked treats!) There is a dog park, horseshoe and cornhole courts. The beginning of June is the town's quilt walk. The end of June is the Balloon Festival. We will be back!!!

Enjoyed our stay here. Clean, full hook ups, nicely landscaped, with a nice dog run for the pets. Close to the National Park.

    Canyons of Escalante RV Park

    Great stopover for regrouping

We been dispersed camping with a camper van for a week and this RV park was everything we needed: laundry, showers, recharge devices with power along with the dump, all within a few steps. Each site has a dividing fence with plenty of room in between. The owners know how bad RV parks could be. Never seen cleaner facilities with a spacious laundry room, showers, etc. They even have a dog park. Their communication with you is above par, everything is explained before you arrived via text. And if you are overdue on your stated arrival time, they send you a text with after hours check-in info.

Capitol Reef RV Park and Glamping

    Brand new March 2025

Everything is new. They still building the office / common room. The private bathrooms and showers are great. Everything is spotless clean. Laundry room only has 2 washers & 2 dryers. Fine now as this RV park is pretty empty. It also has several A-frame little cabins. Maybe a little dusty as they are finishing up all the gravel work. Hookups are good. Pads are level. Every spot has a picnic table & fire pit. Dog park kind of small. All dirt. Lots of areas to walk dogs. Verizon has 3 bars. WiFi is great, but not many campers here.

A couple miles to town. Off the highway. Very quiet. Very dark at night so really nice for stargazing.

And the mountain views are beautiful on 2 sides!

We definitely will stay again if we in the area.

Rubys Inn RV Park and Campground

    An experience

So, take Ruby's with a grain of salt. It's historic, big, and tourist-y. We camped in the tipi (most tipis are ON the highway, so request tipi 10) that was by the lake. The tipi is probably the only secluded camping available. It was fun and pretty comfortable. It was cool at night in June, unlike all the other places we have camped in Utah. Sadly, there are so many lights at Ruby's, you can't see the stars. But, the atmosphere at Ruby's is more like being at an attraction than being outside in nature. Bathrooms are too small and there aren't enough of them to support the campground. There are shuttles to Bryce Canyon park available from Ruby's. There are shops, groceries, and anything you need at Ruby's. If you're used to nice mountain bikes, do t get your hopes up with the rentals. They are in bad shape. Also, there really are not mountain bike trails in the area. Even mountain trails that allow bikes are really horse trails and terrible to ride.

Guide to Junction

Dispersed camping near Junction, Utah provides access to both desert terrain and forested mountain environments at elevations ranging from 6,000 to 8,000 feet. The camping season typically runs May through October, with temperatures dropping dramatically at night even during summer months. Weather conditions can change rapidly in this high-desert region.

What to do

Fishing at multiple reservoirs: Access LeBaron Reservoir Campground's fishing spots where campers report consistent success. "We caught trout all weekend. Power bait is the secret!!!!" notes Brittney C., who recommends exploring "the gorgeous meadows and behind the damn a fast running stream."

Kayaking on calm waters: Launch kayaks at Otter Creek, Tamerisk Point Rec Site where dispersed camping puts you steps from the water. "Went kayaking at sunrise, the water was warm and smooth as glass! Be careful finding the right area to put in your kayak... we chose to do so along the shoreline near where we were camped, but sunk mid-calf in mud at the water's edge," advises Cat F.

Wildlife viewing opportunities: Bird watching proves rewarding at dog friendly sites near Junction. Campers at Tamerisk Point report seeing "fish jumping in the water as well as ducks, gulls, geese, pelicans and more. Watched a deer stop by for a drink and a cow cross my camping spot."

What campers like

Secluded campsites with privacy: Little Cottonwood Campground offers separated sites with natural barriers. Emily L. notes, "I enjoyed all the natural greenery and shrubbery that grew in between the sites. I could not see our neighbors and it felt secluded."

Affordable options: Free camping exists at pet friendly campgrounds near Junction. Taylor R. describes the beach camping at Otter Creek: "I was happy to find beach camping and for free! There was a fire pit made already and we had our own little area for the beach."

Clean facilities despite remote locations: Campground hosts maintain facilities well. At Little Cottonwood, Larry N. reports, "The camp has separate male and female restrooms with flush toilets. And, enough drinkable site faucets that almost every site has 1."

What you should know

Limited cell service: Connectivity varies significantly between campgrounds in the Junction area. Emily L. reports from Little Cottonwood: "We have Verizon and did not get service at our site. Drive about a mile in towards town and we would get service."

Weather fluctuations: Elevation impacts temperature swings. At Kents Lake Campground, Michael Z. notes, "Got cold when the sun went down and the wind was ripping off the lake. Rain was forecasted but was supposed with snow."

Road conditions: Some access roads require higher clearance vehicles. Jude C. warns about Kents Lake: "You can drive there in any vehicle, but highly recommend a high clearance car. I got out there in my Toyota Corolla but it was a rough ride."

Wildlife precautions: Bears inhabit the area, requiring proper food storage. Bryan O. shares about Anderson Meadow Campground: "This is bear country and although we've never had a problem we have been lucky enough to see a mother and her cubs strolling through the meadow."

Tips for camping with families

Pet-friendly swimming areas: Little Reservoir Campround offers dog-friendly fishing spots though swimming isn't recommended. Brittney C. notes to "make sure you keep your food protected because trust me chipmunks and little Squirellies are ready to eat your food."

Educational wildlife opportunities: Children can observe diverse animal life. Bryan O. shares from Anderson Meadow: "One time we even had a deer stroll through the campground not 20' from our site."

Spacious campsites for families: Some campgrounds offer multi-tent sites. Brittney C. describes Little Reservoir as having "plenty of room for multiple tent in a few different spaces."

Tips from RVers

Junction RV infrastructure: Junction RV Park provides full hookup capabilities for larger rigs. Frank B. describes it as a "nice clean, neat campground with super nice hosts. Only 10 or so spaces."

Boondocking opportunities: RVers seeking more remote options with pets find sites at state parks. C A. describes Piute State Park: "Pick your camping location among the cottonwood trees or out in the open for full solar. No services other than pit toilets."

Seasonal availability: Not all RV campgrounds operate year-round. Noel Q. notes: "Kent's campsite done by September 15, not sure when it opens again."
