We stayed here on our way from one COVID-19 quarantine location to another. Heavy storms had come through the area the two days before we got there. Lots of mud and road flooding though receding. Most of the campers there appeared to be either permanent or transient workers. The staff was nice but the campground was definitely dated.
Several of Warfield’s campsites are literally river front. There is a nice boat ramp on the river.
If I could give less than 1 star, I would. This park was very dark, arrived late and could not see any camp site markings because it was so dark. The roads to our camp site was horrible . The only good experience was the bath house. It was clean and well lit.
Many of the sites are shaded and face the river. This water flow is after the dam, so has a very strong current. Definitely not for swimming, but an okay view. Playgrounds available for the kids.
