Nice quite clean campground

This campground is nice and well kept. Facilities are fairly new. Close to tensas river. Only negative is there are virtually no trees in campground and it’s a little pricey at $40 a night

Be ready to hike it in primitive tent

My wife and I stayed for 3 days. The worst part was had to hike in about a mile to primitive camp and the spots are not well marked. One we got set up though had a great time beautiful spot. Then had to pack and hike out

Hidden Gem

This place totally surprised us with how nice it was! They accept Passport America, so a full hookup sight was about $9/night. $18 without Passport America. Sites are large and private. Many are pull through. We had our own kayaks and bikes, so we went kayaking in the creek and mountain biking on…

Good times!!

Great place, super nice and helpful staff, good times!!! There’s a lot of different offerings that this camp ground provides. Several campsites, full, partial, and primitive. Boat, bike, golf cart and ATV/Dirt Bike/Side by Side accommodations. Shaded level sites with a few that might need a lil…

Friendly Staff and beautiful landscape

The park was rather large and nice camping spots. Located on a massive lake and two 18 hole disc golf courses. We managed to make our way down the weekend of an ice storm and the park rangers made their rounds making sure everybody was okay and had plenty of firewood.

In The Swamp Creek

This is a neat little campground that kinda sits between 8 mile and Saraland,AL. Not a very big area for you to camp if you have a pull behind or big RV. But people do manage to get the bigger camper and RV's in and parked. Could use a little more clean up in the three bathhouses and around the…

Pleasant Surpise

Started out the day looking for a different place in De Soto National Forest, but got lost and found this campground. Was very surprised at how clean and neat the areas were. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. The trail was a short .5 mile nature walk, but beautiful and relaxing. All…

Campground could use some upgrade

The lake is beautiful. Some of the campsites looked like long term sites with a lot of junk around them. This would be a great place to pull an inter tube with a boat. Looked a little sad. It was quiet though.

Free at a Cost

It's a shame we had a less than ideal experience here, because we love a good free spot on the water with amenities. First the good, its FREE! No reservation needed, simply pull up and enjoy. First come, first serve. The site we stayed at was level with a nice gravel pad with a fire pit &…

Full Hook ups for $15

Nice spot for a layover, but not our cup of tea for a multi day visit. The parks is operated by the county. The sites are nice featuring picnic tables and grills. There is not a bath house here so you will need to be self contained. The utility pedestals are fancy and remind me of something that…

Tight Spots Decent Activites

We visited St. Stephens Historical Park in mid Febraury. The other campers there seemed to be monthly tenants. The park appeared to be in need of a little TLC and updating. The campsites are super close together, so don't come here if you want any kind of privacy. There is disc golf and some…

Stopover Gem

This is a great place for a stopover. Tent spots lined the waterside and they allowed boondockers. Clean restrooms. Boat ramp that the locals frequent often. There is a friendly and helpful host from October until April. He locked the gate at night. We have stayed at the host site in late spring…

Nice campground

Bathroom, shower, trail. What more do you need. I wanted to checkout the trail but the rain kept coming but at least it was warm 65°. Nice place to stop on my journey east. Not too many people on a Wednesday night in February.

Beautiful lake view

Second time at Flint Creek in Wiggins Mississippi. Stayed during the middle of January of 2021 on site 29.

The back of the site backs up to the lake, with plenty of beach to fish or hangout. This site would be perfect during the summer if you wanted to swim. The site had full hookups with 50amp…

Subpar at best

Primitive campsite had lots of trash on the ground (kids socks, plastic, toilet paper). Port-o-pottys were disgusting. Stayed one night on my cross country drive and it was one night too many.
