Busier than expected

I camped here just one night in May 2021 on a Saturday, I got there at about 3pm and was the first there but by nightfall every site was full. People stayed quiet with the exception of a 12:30am arrival man who walked onto my site right up to my tent to I guess see if anyone was there?? I’m a solo…

Great hidden spot

We’ve frequented this small space since childhood. It’s very well remote off of HWY 30 in the Holly Springs National Forest.

It’s fairly well patrolled by game wardens and the camping spots are well maintained.

Self check in is handled at the permit box upon turning off the highway. Be mindful…

Decent enough for a couple days.

This is very near my home. It's a decent enough area for a day or two but not enough for an extended stay for me personally. Facilities are really only maintained during peak season and even then I've been greeted by dirty showers and restrooms more than once. The swimming area steps are quite…

The locals like it - and that’s a plus

This is the first campground we have stopped at this week that had more than one other camper. I’d guess they were 70% full.

Most of the folks we met were local, here for a weekend away and outdoors. Lots of families with kids. Everyone was super friendly and welcoming.

The camp host came by just…

Peaceful, nice and clean

Had been wanting to try this campground out for a year. We decided last minute to make the trip this weekend. Super nice park host! Bathrooms were A+++ clean! No showers due to covid. Loved that almost all spot were right at the water edge. Literally. All types of birds to watch. Squirrels too. The…

Quiet weekend campsite

This is somewhat of a rustic hidden gem! It’s off the beaten path, so it wasn’t very busy. The sites at the end with the lake view are nice. There is only one bath house, so it’s kind of a far walk from some of the sites. The boat ramp is very close by.

I am giving this one 3 stars because the…

Nice CG in the woods

Stayed here last year for New Years. Came to ride the lake bottom in our SXS. Campground was very clean. Bathhouse was clean. Park host at the time were pretty nice. Just fill out all of your paper work when you put it on the pole and they won’t bother you. Also if you are wanting to ATV ride, the…

Great place to relax

This was a great spot to stop and relax we stayed 3 nights and was very peaceful. The bath house was close because of covid but the rest was good would definetely come back and recommend if traveling the Natchez Trace parkway. We were in a 41’ motorhome and had plenty of room.

Stayed the night

I stayed the night in November.  It appears to be an old reservoir that has been drained.  The site has about 5 campsites with picnic tables and fire rings.  Nothing spectacular.  The locals do come through to party on the old reservoir.

The reservoir was empty at this location.  It seems its…

Beautiful Campground

This is a beautiful campground. Sites are nestled in the woods and neighbors aren’t too close. Much of the campground is closed for winter right now, but the lack of a crowd just adds to the appeal.

Most sites have water and electrical hookups but no sewer. We did see at least one site that did…

Hidden gem... but good luck on a dump station

This is a great little campground overall. The sites aren’t too close together, they are pretty level, and there is plenty of lakefront and woods to wander in. There is a dollar general a few miles away for needed supplies. The only real drawback is the fact that they have pretty much made the…

Love it

As luck would have it, we spotted this place on our Natchez Trace Parkway map and decided we had enough driving for the day. Beautiful setting among the trees and right next to the lake. Level, fire pits, charcoal grills, picnic tables, water and electric all for 20.00 a night and we didn’t…

Good close hike on Natchez Trace

Easy trails thru pretty words passing a natural spring. Nice picnic pavilion on top of trail. RV parking allowed but no hookups.
