Started out the day looking for a different place in De Soto National Forest, but got lost and found this campground. Was very surprised at how clean and neat the areas were. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. The trail was a short .5 mile nature walk, but beautiful and relaxing. All…
Bathroom, shower, trail. What more do you need. I wanted to checkout the trail but the rain kept coming but at least it was warm 65°. Nice place to stop on my journey east. Not too many people on a Wednesday night in February.
Something for everyone. We spent 3 nights in December 2020 and can’t wait to return. We are telling everybody about it. Shower houses spotlessly clean.
We do Paul B. every spring & fall for the weekend. Beautiful view of the lake from some campsites. Have a campfire every night. Bathrooms with hot shower available. Lake has some boat traffic, but not too bad. Great place to bring the kayaks. Overall A+ in my book!
Went the weekend they opened in 2020 after a brief COVID shutdown. Full of families having a great time getting away. Really nice campground. We will return.
We’ve camped here often and have always been happy. It gets crowded on popular weekends so book early. There is something for everyone. Park staff are second to none and quick to respond if a problem arises.
Convenient stop for an overnight stay. Small park withFull hook-ups just off the highway. Easy in and out.. Super nice owner helped us get settled late night
Family of five went for a week long camping trip. Park is well maintained with full hook up for our 33 ft travel trailer. The lake was great for Kayaking, Canoeing and swimming. Very quiet during the week park. I will definitely recommend this park.
Nice camp spot to spend the night. Came in July, not to crowded and had showers.
We had the good fortune of finding this gem as an overnight waypoint on a recent trip to Florida. We found an asphalt pad with full hookups overlooking Lake Geiger for our Sprinter Camper van. Friendly staff. Good value. Primitive sites were still closed. The park features the Lake set in a tall…
We have heard great things about Paul B. Johnson for years, even before we began our own camping adventures. It was definitely a campground we were excited to check out, so we booked a long weekend getaway with the promise of beautiful spring weather. Unfortunately, our trip here was cut short due…

We enjoy this campground for many reasons- fishing, beach/swim area, nice campsites. They also have a couple playgrounds and a splash pad for the kids.
Been going to Paul B for more that 40 years. Love it’s wide open views and lake sites. Big lake with rental boats available. Beautiful beach & swimming behind the lodge & another swimming area to cool off. Disc golf course is fun. New water splash pad is tons of fun (extra $). Hattiesburg…
This is the furthest campground northeast in the forest/park, making it as far away from New Orleans as possible...which is nice for minimizing crowds. Perfect base camp for traveling deep into DeSoto National Forest while still being close enough to civilization (quaint Beaumont!).
