Lovely

Needed a place in this area. It’s lovely. Grass, shade, fire rings, picnic tree tables, water and electricity in season, at least. Paying is awkward. They want you to prepay at the courthouse. I’m going to send a check afterwards. No doors on the toilet stalls, which is a bit weird.

Great little local campground!

There are about 12 sites with water and electricity. A clean-out is available but no sewer hookups at the RV site. There is a fee of $20 per night on the honor system. This park has a lot of mature shade trees and concrete walking/biking path along the river, but the trees at the camp sits are…

Nice small campground

Located in a small town, it is a pretty local park. Next to a pond and a golf court.

Truly A Hidden Gem

This was our second time camping here and we loved it just as much as the first! We stayed on Wheatgrass loop site #57. The sites are huge! This back-in site was easily 50-60ft long. Water and electric hookups were conveniently located and the site was mostly level side to side. And that view!…

Dirty bathrooms

We came in the late afternoon on a Friday in October. Drove from the interstate. We saw the sign & turned. We became completely lost. I picked up a map at the office, which was closed, but it didn't help. We drove around then came back to the office. There was a conservation officer in the…

Great spot for a quick stop over.

No campers when I rolled in. Power at six spots though I’m rooftop camping so not needed. NOTE: the phone number above is no longer the contact for the park, but they were incredibly gracious to scope it out and let me know that all spots were open via text. Please omit the phone number so they…

Nice clean place to find an oasis (Wilson Lake) on a highway desert!

Great location in Kansas, 9 miles off I70, at exit 206. US Army Corps of Engineers campground, with water, electric and a dump station available.

Restrooms are heated and showers are available as well.

Senior Passes are accepted. If you choose not to use the electric sites, there are primitive…

What a lovely campground and state park

What a lovely campground and state park.  It’s 16 minutes off I70 and feels so remote and peaceful- no highway traffic noise. We pulled in late at night on a Monday in October after many hours in the road and were thrilled at how peaceful and clean it was. We stayed at campsite 17 right on the lake…

Quiet Beautiful Park With Lakeside Pull Thru Sites

Wilson State Park is truly a hidden gem. It is surrounded by miles of rolling farmland, so it is like an oasis when you see this beautiful lake as you enter the park. We stayed in Foxtail Loop in Site 61. It couldn't have been more perfect. We pulled-in at sunset and discovered that our site had a…

Great Stopover or Spend a few days

We were traveling back to Oklahoma from South Dakota and needed a place to break up the drive. On the way up we just stopped in a Cracker Barrel parking lot. This time we wanted to enjoy a campground in the morning before pulling out on the last stretch of drive.

Lucas Park was perfect. We pulled…

Small spot for hunters

I drove almost 2 hours to get here to park for the night. I’m a solo female traveler and I didn’t feel safe. This free campground is near Great Bend town (on a dirt road in the middle of nowhere) (look it at in google) on a public land. There was a lot of RVs and tents. All men on hunting gear. I’m…
