Great place but poor pet accommodations

Park campground is well kept as well as the facilities. Beach is nice but the area they claim is for people with pets is a long walk and the beach no longer exists as the lake has washed it away. Pet beach is just really slippery rock which is very dangerous for the pet owners and pets alike. They…

A getaway to nature

Bong has a diverse set of activities available from hiking to mode airplanes. What they do seem to lack is very spacious camp sites. Facilities are well maintained, and you can certainly have an enjoyable time here. Our family will likely camp here again this season due to Bong’s convenient…

Scout Camping Trip

We spent the first weekend of June 2021 in the group sites (M) at The Whitewater Lake and Hickory Group Sites. It was a very hot weekend for June so by the time Saturday morning came around everyone just wanted to go to Whitewater Lake. We got lucky, the parking was free on June 5&6.

First…

Great way to spend a holiday weekend

The family enjoyed a long holiday weekend in Loop 1 of the Pinewood camp ground. The sites were very nice with some decent foliage between sites. The space was generous so we didn’t feel crowded. The camp store was handy for ice and firewood. Our hike to the scenic overlook was pleasant - bring…

Great Camping

Very nice State park and campsite. Campsite had plenty of space, nice fire pit, and picnic table. The showers on site were the cleanest I have experienced while camping, this was much appreciated. Lake Michigan is under a 5 minute drive with clean beaches. There are plenty of walking trails and…

O.M.G.... !!!

This place is BIZARRE. Junk, moldy RV's, a parked garbage truck, un-cut grass and branches/twigs, everywhere. Not to mention un-emptied 'shed' toilets, un-emptied trash & recycle bins, a playground over-run by weeds, a sorely ignored mini-golf course, a desperate looking "pavilion", potholes…

Big Sites but Close to a Busier Road

It was nice and I really liked how large the campsites were. Kids had a place to run around and I didn't feel like they were encroaching on other people's sites. We were up against the forest and they could play in there too.

Beyond the little forest was a busy road which kept my husband up. He…

Great spot year round

I visit this site often and love it. Great walking and biking trails, and reasonably private sites. The 300 and 400 loops are better and the 500 loop is the best in terms of space and privacy.

If you do t mind cold camping (or have a 4x4 class B like me) go in the winter. Beautiful and empty. So…

Fun state park

A nice state park. Clean bathrooms with showers. Good sized site with nice privacy. Good hiking around the lake and mostly dog friendly. Nice play ground with horse she pits.

Great state park camping

Spent the weekend and was impressed. Most sites are well spaced for a state park. Clean bathrooms with flush toilets and showers. Wood and ice available to purchase. Walked down by the beach but it was too cold to go in. Sandy beach but looked like a rock bottom. Great hiking right across the…

Nice quite lake

I can not tell you how many times I’ve been here. My son lives within seconds of here so it is very convenient. They gave on site bathrooms and showers. Electric, water and sewer hookups. They also have tent sites. This season there will be née owners so I hope they keep some of the annual…

Busy place

Nicely nestled in the kettle moraine but busy in the summer. Bring bug spray

Not what you’d expect

More of a yard style, open camping. No privacy. Lots of kids everywhere. No alcohol allowed. Packed during the day at the beach. Ok trails.

Nice campground

We tent camped in the East loop - site 606. Even though this site is right beside the bathroom, it was surprisingly private. The campground was kind of noisy on a weekend night in August, but overall it was a nice campground with few amenities. There is a trail from the east loop to access the Ice…
