"Campgrounds are a little ways outside of Lebanon where we were able to get camping supplies at their 24 hour Walmart. Cute little town but not a big tourist destination. Campgrounds were fairly nice and had a woodsy feel. Nearby hiking includes McDowell creek falls where there are a couple of medium grade hiking trails that can be muddy," reports Kassidy D. from Waterloo County Park.
Kid-friendly facilities: Many Lebanon area campgrounds cater to families with designated play areas. "Quiet and clean, with a great playground for the kids in the central meadow. Took us a while to figure out how to get to the river, we should have consulted the park host since the way we found wasn't the easiest path. But the river is gorgeous and fun to romp in," shares Cassie M. about River Bend County Park.
Local wildlife viewing: Some campgrounds offer unexpected wildlife encounters. "I love this place," writes Kathy B. about Gills Landing RV Park, noting that "it's right on the river with great views. A colony of feral cats lives near the railroad bridge."

River safety concerns: While the South Santiam River is a prime attraction, campers should exercise caution when swimming. "Great little spot for a family get together and overnight stay... On the river good fishing... but be aware... current is swift.. swimmers seem to get in trouble every year here," warns Len S. about Waterloo County Park.
