Typical county park with river access.

Spaces are pretty close together but a variety of open and shaded spots. Small pond with fish and also river access with boat mooring. Most spots have good sky access for starlink setup. Water pipes are old just let the water run for a while before use or hookup. Bathrooms and showers are fair condition. Good backup plan for when the dispersed locations up river are taken.

Pretty Awesome

This campground is clean and well organized. The sites are nice and have a great little gravel square behind the trailer spot with a picnic table and fire ring. It definitely gets crowded on nice weekends so be prepared. The ponds are stocked so it’s great for taking little ones fishing and Foster Lake is beautiful for kayaking or boating!

Pleasantly surprised

•Very open sites (not much privacy) but spacious. We stayed in the non-reservable C Loop meaning I arrived at 7:30 am to get in line for a spot, if you get one you pay but occupancy not required. Often people pay for additional days (Tue, Wed, Thur and don’t stay) to have a site for the weekend. •Beautiful shade trees in almost all sites. •Several double sites for tent camping. •Water and electric hook up, dump station. •Foster Reservoir is beautiful. •Lots of paddle boarding and kayaking areas safe from boats. •Off leash dog park is amazing with lots of shade and water for drinking or cooling off. •Playground •Sand volleyball •Horse shoes •Ice and firewood avail for purchase •Boat moorage for a fee

The place is big! We had a great time! Surprisingly quiet both mornings and evenings. Every single person working that I had interactions with were friendly, patient, and smiley! I’ll be going back! It seems I took more pictures of my dogs than I did of the park 🤦🏻‍♀️

Love it!

This campground is very open and friendly! It is right on Foster Lake and not to far up the road is less crowded Green Peter lake. If you want to go boating go to Green Peter! It’s a bit more of a drive, but fewer people are on the lake and this lake is a lot calmer for skiing and things like that! Sunny side has a couple parks and is far enough out of town to be pretty quiet! Great place!

Camping and Water skiing

A great place to load your boat on the Foster Lake Reservoir. Lots of water sports to play on this large lake. The Sunnyside campground has a place to moorage your boat for a fee overnight. The campground has lots of room for large campers and smaller tenter. Go fishing in the ponds or in the lake. Has a dog run for your fur babies, and playground for the kids. Has three loop areas. Loop “A” is open year round and is reservable, Loop “B” is a group area, Loop “C” is open in the summer and is non-reservable. Has about 10 sites in loop A, and loop C that are without hook ups. Has different size sites and can accommodate large RV. Also sites can hold tents too. Did I say water skiing? Yes, Foster Lake is big to have fun water skiing, canoe, kayak, or float on a big floaty duck.

Over easy

Sunnyside park is located on Foster reservoir, approx. 5 miles east of Sweethome, Or off of HWY 20.

After hiking the nearby Mcdowell falls trail I thought it might be nice to find a campground somewhere close and stay the night. There are a few nearby, and after driving through some, I decided on Sunnyside.

Nestled in the valley between some nice wooded snow covered hills, Sunnyside is a Linn county run park with about 150 sites, some are walk-up only while some can be reserved ahead of time. The campround is a wide open style grounds with most of the sites right on top each other, they seem to cater more to the RV'er than the tent camper and don't offer much privacy. That didn't stop me, I was able to find a spot with the two small ponds right outside my tent. These ponds are stocked with trout, so bring your poles.

The restroom facilities were decent, with flush toilets and private shower rooms. They were clean, but I didn't get to checkout the showers as they were being maintained during the off-season.

There is a boat ramp, with moorage for power boats and a decent size day use area. I can imagine that this place gets very busy when the reservoir is full, when in season, but suprisingly it and the campground proper were fairly empty. They also have a play structure for the kids.

They had Full hookup sites, water bibs and garbage service. There was also wood sales, which was delivered right to my pit, via golf cart by the nice couple who was hosting.

Even though it was the off season and very cold and wet, as I arrived a day after the last snow, it was a nice spot to just relax and enjoy the scenery.
