    Silver Falls State Park Campground

    Pretty and Busy

I think they call this the Gem of Oregon State parks. It's kind of a magical place. You drive through rolling farmland and have no idea this forested oasis teeming with waterfalls is here.

The sites are pretty private, but there were quite a few loud campers when I was there and no one was enforcing quiet hours.

The hikes to the waterfalls were the reason to visit this park! So many beautiful falls.

Definitely put this on your bucket list.

    Kingfisher Mt. Hood National Forest

Get a Site on the River

Off the beaten path, on the way to Bagby Hotsprings. This pretty little campground is on the Collawash River. A few of the sites back up to the river and those are the best ones.

If you don't get a riverside site, there is no access to the river unless you cut through someone's site. That's the only bummer about this place.

$26 for dry camping with a picnic table. Can't remember if there was drinking water. Pit toilets.

    Salem Campground and RVs

    Very nice place to stay

I'veI've lived almost 3 months and from a few years ago till now this place is definitely come a long way so much cleaner and nicer the people are nice to you from the office the only thing I don't like about it is the showers shut up early most people don't get off work before they shut them off anyway I can understand why but still there should be a way to fix that but it's a nice place to stay and I plan on staying for a long time.

    Cascadia State Park Campground

    Amazing camping spot

This campground was small but perfect! Each campsite does have a fire ring. But if u want fire wood there is someone that sells it and it’s cash only. There was tons of hiking trails and a beautiful creek!

    Champoeg State Heritage Area Campground

Peaceful Riverside Camping with Clean Facilities and Scenic Trails

I recently stayed at Champoeg State Heritage Area Campground and honestly, it turned out to be one of the most relaxing camping trips I’ve had in a long time. The place has a beautiful natural setting with wide open fields, river views, and peaceful walking trails that make it easy to unplug and slow down. The overall rating is about 4.5 out of 5 from 70 reviews, which felt accurate after my stay. What really stood out to me was how clean and well-maintained everything was. The bathrooms and showers were spotless, and the grounds felt thoughtfully laid out with plenty of space between many sites. Several campers mentioned that Loop B offers more privacy than Loop A, and I’d definitely agree if you’re someone who likes a bit of distance from neighbors.

    Siuslaw National Forest Blackberry Campground

    Quiet on the River

This was a nice campground on the river. There are no showers and there is no phone service, however, there are pit toilets that were very clean. Each campsite had quite a bit of space and a table and a fire pit. However, it was $36 a night.

    Albany-Corvallis KOA

Month Long Stay at Corvallis KOA

Spent a month in an RV space at this KOA. My first experience at a KOA couldn’t have gone better. Staff was friendly, facilities were clean, and fellow RVers were quiet and respectful. We stayed here with a dog and were really happy with amenities such as the dog park and small trail behind campground. Really phenomenal and kind workers as well. Would stay again. We stayed during the wet season, and it was not very busy here. We did have some issues with moisture in RV, would definitely recommend having a dehumidifier. Showers and bathrooms cleaned daily and were very clean always. There is also a nice laundry facility (coin operated) and sink for washing dishes. Two bathrooms and a dog park. Electric hookups, black water dump, and water hookup at site.

Guide to Lebanon

Lebanon's camping spots sit at the edge of the Willamette Valley where the landscape transitions toward the Cascade foothills at approximately 350 feet elevation. The South Santiam River serves as a central feature for many camping areas near Lebanon, Oregon, with several waterways providing fishing and swimming opportunities. Local campgrounds typically experience milder winters than higher elevation sites, making some locations viable for year-round camping.

What to do

Disc golf competition: Waterloo County Park offers an 18-hole disc golf course that draws both casual players and serious enthusiasts. "Waterloo is pretty open and has some bike trails and some parks and a pretty great disc golf course! The water is really cold but perfect for a day outside or a picnic with the kids!" notes visitor Ally T. about Waterloo County Park.

River activities: The South Santiam River provides multiple access points for water recreation throughout the camping season. At River Bend County Park, visitors can enjoy both the river and trails. "The main attraction here is the South Santiam River, which in October is stunning. Would love to visit in the summer when can actually take a dip," writes Kathy B. about her experience at River Bend County Park.

Foster Lake water sports: For boaters and paddlers, Sunnyside Park provides direct access to Foster Lake. "Foster Reservoir is beautiful. Lots of paddle boarding and kayaking areas safe from boats," says Andrea P. about the lake activities at Sunnyside Park.

What campers like

Proximity to hiking trails: Several campgrounds serve as gateways to local hiking opportunities. "Campgrounds are a little ways outside of Lebanon where we were able to get camping supplies at their 24 hour Walmart. Cute little town but not a big tourist destination. Campgrounds were fairly nice and had a woodsy feel. Nearby hiking includes McDowell creek falls where there are a couple of medium grade hiking trails that can be muddy," reports Kassidy D. from Waterloo County Park.

Kid-friendly facilities: Many Lebanon area campgrounds cater to families with designated play areas. "Quiet and clean, with a great playground for the kids in the central meadow. Took us a while to figure out how to get to the river, we should have consulted the park host since the way we found wasn't the easiest path. But the river is gorgeous and fun to romp in," shares Cassie M. about River Bend County Park.

Local wildlife viewing: Some campgrounds offer unexpected wildlife encounters. "I love this place," writes Kathy B. about Gills Landing RV Park, noting that "it's right on the river with great views. A colony of feral cats lives near the railroad bridge."

What you should know

River safety concerns: While the South Santiam River is a prime attraction, campers should exercise caution when swimming. "Great little spot for a family get together and overnight stay... On the river good fishing... but be aware... current is swift.. swimmers seem to get in trouble every year here," warns Len S. about Waterloo County Park.

Reservation strategies: During peak season, securing a campsite often requires planning. At Sunnyside Park, "Loop 'A' is reservable and Loop 'B' open in summer as first come/first serve. Please note there is a water hazard for boater and swimmer down from camping area," advises Cindy U.

Site privacy variations: Campground layouts vary significantly around Lebanon. At Knox Butte RV Park, "Everything is paved, the sites have nice clean picnic tables, and plenty of green Lush grass," according to Robert R., though other campgrounds like Sunnyside Park are described as having "very open sites (not much privacy) but spacious."

Tips for camping with families

Dog-friendly areas: Families camping with pets will appreciate designated dog areas. "Off leash dog park is amazing with lots of shade and water for drinking or cooling off," notes Andrea P. about Sunnyside Park's pet accommodations.

Stocked fishing ponds: Several campgrounds offer beginner-friendly fishing opportunities. At Carsner Tree Farm, "The location was perfect for us, since we planned some hikes around the area. We happened to be the only ones in the campground the night we stayed so we had free rein of the barn area and it was lovely!" reports Amy R.

Playground access: Many campgrounds feature dedicated play areas for children. Cindy U. notes that Sunnyside Park "Has a dog park, play disc golf, hiking trails, fish, with ADA fishing deck, boat launch, playground, and two camping loops."

Tips from RVers

Wi-Fi reliability: Internet connectivity varies between campgrounds. At Mallard Creek Golf and RV Resort, "Their free Wifi worked much better than most CGs this size. We got 3 bars on Verizon," reports MickandKarla W.

Full hookup availability: Many campgrounds near Lebanon offer comprehensive RV hookups. "Sites were really easy to get into. River was pretty and plenty of kids playing," notes Jacob R. about Waterloo County Park, which offers electric and water hookups at most sites.

Shower quality: Bathroom and shower facilities differ significantly between locations. "Great sized campground within the Lebanon city limits. Directly on the river with hiking/biking paths. 20 full hookup sites with locked safe restrooms/coin showers. Camp host greets upon arrival and provides area maps and complimentary tokens for showers," shares James and Susan K. about Gills Landing RV Park.
