Homestead Knolls

Beautiful campground! Nice boat ramp but can be tricky to load if windy. Book in advance as this site is very popular and always full!

Calamis Lodge

Nice campground close to the lake and right next to the golf course!

Clean, peaceful, pretty

Spent a night here by the water and experienced a beautiful sunset. Its a perfect place to camp for a night or kayak for an afternoon. Got lucky enough to have the entire place to myself. Really relaxed place. Perfect for tent camping and a water view.

A little upkeep would make this a nice spot

Victoria Springs has 2 different areas for camping. One area is for tent camping ($15 a day) and has a small lake with paddle boats to use. The lake has an algae issue right now. This area has a picnic shelter and playground that is dated. There are 2 cute cabins available for rent which have fire rings and picnic tables. The other area is for RVs and you can have electric $20)or electric and water($30). Each site has a fire ring and picnic shelter and is on grass. There is a basketball hoop that needs help and horseshoe area which is overgrown. A little bit of upkeep and elbow grease and this would be a great getaway.

This is now called Wooden Castle

Wooden Castle is right off the highway. The sites are Electric/water and are located behind the motel. The are run down RVs that look like they h just been left there and others look like they live there. To be perfectly honest it was unappealing, I saw signs from the management/owners that were inappropriate and would not stay there.

Small in town RV park

Located in Broken Bow 2 blocks from the highway by the city park and is a small but nice RV Park. It is clean and well kept. All sites are full hook ups with a few on concrete but most on gravel. Most sites are pull thru. Not every site has a picnic bench, they are scattered around. This is a fairly new park, has 15 spaces and has no shade. Daily fee is $20.

Victoria springs

Nice secluded campground.

Small Scenic Campground

Very small campground inside the Burwell city park. Four electrical hookups, two back in & two pull-through. Very old wooden pit toilets, may have showers up at the pool & had one flush toilet restroom on the outside wall of the pool house that had a door (unlocked at all times we were there.) We stayed in one of the back-in sites that was right on the Loup River. Very quiet with no hi-way noise. We were there two nights and a Burwell sheriff drove through one night, and a Nebraska state patrol cruiser drove through the other night we were there. We had a very nice quiet stay there.

Beautiful for the day....

We had high hopes for this campground and as far as activities it knocked it out of the park with hiking, fishing, mountain biking, ATVs, etc. The problem was trying to sleep with trains blasting their crossing horns all night. We truly love this place as a day use stop though.

Cute with full hookups

After being stranded for several hours with a flat tire we found ourselves behind schedule, And making it by with 5 out of 6 tires. We were told by the super helpful and friendly locals of this rv park which is simple and small. It has full electrical, water and sewage hookups. There is a playground in the same area as well as a city park about 2 blocks away. The city park has bathrooms. No showers. Quaint little town, and we were grateful for a place to park when we were left somewhat stranded.

Nuda sholls

Nuda sholls campground at calamus state recreation area is a nice little spot to setup for a few days and enjoy the 4,500 acre calamus reservoir. There are roughly 30 sites in this particular area. Half are first come first serve and the other half are by reservation. All sites are electrical only. There is a nice modern shower and bath facility to utilize if you want to conserve your fresh water tank. Toilets are free and it only costs $1.25 for a 7 minute hot shower. My family and I have created many memories here and hope to make many more

Under the stars

What a wonderful place with so many trees. If you get the chance to up the fire tower and talk to the park ranger.

Camp by a white sand beach in Nebraska

Homestead Knolls is a small campground near a small, beautiful white sand beach with gradual increase in depth, perfect for swimming with family. Boat ramp is nearby. You can find all essentials at a nearby gas station.

Nice and Can't beat the price

Halsey National Forests campground is called Bessey Recreation Campground and has cabins, Rv sites, tent sites, as well as group and family sites. The Rv sites are Electric and gravel and are fairly level. They have picnic tables and fire rings and are spacious. And of course plenty of shade since you are in a forest.

There is a Nursery which grows the trees for the forest, a Look Out Tower which offers a panoramic view of the Sandhills, hunting, fishing, scenic drives, wildlife viewing, hiking and ATV trails, along with other activities.

It is a nice place to stop over and see.

Very Nice and Quiet

I just happened upon this park as I was really tired and needed a place to stop and it's just beautiful. It's a donation Park like many in Nebraska. Almost every little small town seems to have one. This park has lots of nice Shady trees and water and a bathhouse no showers.

Newly added fpadsor rving with gravel

Being new not much for trees. It was nice to have clean showers close to the camp site.

Very nice to go camping. Gone there many a time

A lot of campsite. Can rent boats and jet skies. Multiple convenient stores. About five miles from nearest town. Nice swimming and fishing spots. Love going there.

STUNNING!

A delightful oasis in the sand hills. Beautifully maintained campground right beside the river.

Spotless facilities, private camp spots, pristine park like setting

great

a nice little park

nice

a good place for gatherings

cute little cabins!

stayed here after our wedding reception, and good place to get away with everything you could need provided!

tiny and cute!

Such a gorgeous little area. Liked it so much we got married in Long Pine!

Beautiful scenery and plenty of wildlife

Only spent 1 night on our way through to the Black hills but loved the campground. Lots of pretty scenery and wildlife. Very peaceful. Nice trails. Big and deep fire pits with gravel pads and patios. Lots of ATV activity because of the great trails. Clean bathrooms/bath house, but only 4 total stalls in the main camping area. Bit of train noise during the day, but didn't really notice it overnight.

Valley View 👍🏻

FCFS, no reservations needed. About 10 electric sites, plenty of tent and/or primitive sites. Boat dock, shower house, clean restrooms. Usually pretty peaceful. Quite a bit of shade also. Fire rings at each spot. We have a 38’ 5th wheel and have no problem parking that and a boat and tow vehicle in our area.

Largest man made forest

Right on the middle loup river, and in the middle of nowhere this place can get busy.

Great hiking through the Sandhills. The scott lookout tower can give you views across the Sandhills for miles upon miles on a clear day. Want stars at night? You can see them all.

Roads to drive on and explore that take you to the south of the first to the Dismal river

the campsotes are all shady lots of open spaces in the csmpground too for picnics and games

don’t forget to check out the tree nursery Pretty cool to see all the trees growing as seedlings

Wonderful Experience

We had such a great stay at the Nunda Shoal Campground. It's situated directly next to the Calamus Reservoir, and there is at least one path that leads right to the sandy beach. It's technically for RVs, but we ended up staying there because the nearby tent campground was completely vacant, and we'd rather stay in a more populated area. There are several coin-operated showers that work pretty well. The camp hosts that were present when we were there were incedibly kind, and we really enjoyed chatting with them.

Picnic and Fishing

My girlfriend and I love to find new spots to fish and we really enjoyed Riverside City Park. There was great fishing and really clean picnic areas to eat lunch when the fishing slowed down.
