Covered pavilion with a view of the lake. We happened on it thru Dyrt on our way out to Yellowstone and it fit our needs exactly. Close to I-70, but you felt away from everything. Highly recommend.
This is a Great place for families to enjoy spending time with one another! Love the cleanliness of bathrooms and outdoors! Lots of fish!
If you are traveling through and need a place to stop for the night, this is a nice little spot. Owners are friendly and helpful. Full hook ups, 50 and 30 amp, pull through and back in. Small campground with no public showers or bathrooms, no WiFi but good ATT cell service.
We stayed 5/4-6/21. Had a great time watching the geese. We don't fish but others looked like they were having some success. No electricity or water. Clean latrines. Close to town. Found a dump station in town. Close to Tallgrass Nature Preserve. Beautiful falls at the east end of the dam. Love…
Had a great time here. Beautiful spot. Trees for hammocks. Access to the water. Safe cove of water away from boats. Big area. Near trails

General: Canning Creek is one of six camping areas operated by the US Army Corp of Engineers on Council Grove Lake. It is spread out on the lake so that all but four sites- 24, 26, 27& 28 (and the group camping areas) are directly on the water. Even though there were only a handful of…

This is a COE campground. Check in with the gate house if you don’t have a reservation. They will have you drive around to pick your site. Many sites are on the banks of the reservoir. Once you pick your site and drop your trailer or gear go back gate house to give them site number and pay.…

We are traveling in the off season, and found only one other RV in the campground. We enjoyed the solitude and night stars. The amenities are simple, electric and water. For a bathroom or shower, it's a walk to the next campground or marina. There are some hiking trails to enjoy in addition to…
Great campground really enjoy the large and shady sites. I also like how they put boat docks behind all of the lake side sites. The swim area is nice but often crowded on the weekends. This campground has both 50 and 30 amp sites. All of the 50 amp sites are on the inner loop and all of the lake…

This was a just an overnight for us as we were traveling but really enjoyed it! Loved seeing the lake out the window in the morning. Had a covered picnic table, hook ups, shade, and fairly spaced out sites. Little town was nearby for gas and groceries.
We pulled into this one kinda late at night so didn’t get to fully enjoy it. Sites were pretty close together and there was some event or something across the way that had really loud music until 11p or so. Waking up on the lake was amazing though!
Nice quiet spot. I will be back for sure.
I got here on a Friday night in late September and took the last available campsite. The site itself was very small, definitely not big enough for a trailer or RV, but fine for my Honda Civic. There was quite a bit of noise from a youth group out on the dock until 10:30pm. Good water access with…
Hickory Hollow is a mostly shaded campground with full hook ups. Some are on cement pads the inner loop sites are too close for my liking but the other loop is ok. This area is very peaceful. There is a fire ring and table at each site. There are restrooms here and a dump station
