We were surprised to discover this state park in Illinois but searching on the Dyrt App helped us have a great visit. There are 4 different camping areas within this park. There are electric sites near the showers. Another loop of electric sites is down the road. Keep going and you find a small…

GREAT weekend! Vast sandy beach, volleyball net and sidewalk width concrete pathway to the water. Spacious CLEAN showers, bathrooms easy for littles to be big and do it on their own, push button style showers stop risk of being burned complete with final pull chain for those sandy feet. Stand alone…
Very quiet state park. The sites are very large and our rv site has a cement pad. It makes for an easy setup. We have a water view. Great for fishing. There are also full hookups. There's a playground and boat access and swimming.
This is a large state park with separate camping loops. The equestrian loop was popular and we saw many there. It has plenty of shade and even what looked to be a horse water trough.
The non-equestrian loop was not as nice. There are a few spots with morning shade but the whole place will get…

Looking for an overnight stay on a long road trip. Park is close to highway, fairly empty on a Monday night. Easy pull through site close to lake. Quiet. Bathhouse nothing fancy, could have been cleaner. Easy access to dump station. Staff very friendly.
We enjoy staying here. Very well kept, friendly hosts.
There are two camp grounds with a range from rustic to full hookups. 3 lakes for boating, paddling, fishing, or just a scenic hike. Staff is friendly and the place is clean.
Good spots with easy access to hiking trails and lake. Better in winter, spring, and falls months.
We ventured south to Geode State Park near Burlington, IA. We are getting the travel trailer tweeked in. We weathered a rainy 🌧 day Saturday (all day). There was enough room that it was not uncomfortable. We started having issues with our propane heater. So what do you do when camping and it has…

Took our new camper out for a one night stay. It’s a nice small place with a nice little pond. The only real complaint we had was that there was no lights in the bathrooms, we didn’t want to use the campers bathroom for just one night. There were other bathrooms but they were locked. $20 a night…
I’ve been going to this campground since I was a child, it’s one of my favorite places to camp. A popular place, during the summer it’s always full and kids running around, people walking and running and riding bikes, walking dogs. Great trails too, ranging from half a mile to 3 miles. Nice lakes,…
We stayed here one night. We had a concrete pad for our RV which was nice and a decent amount of room to roam.
Grew up camping here every summer! Nice tent sites and good hiking!
Our kids love argyle for the paved roads they can easily ride bikes on, the 2 playgrounds and the room to run! We love it because of the spacious sites and options to hike and bike.
All full hookups are in the sun most of the day. So if you don’t have a canopy or awning it’ll be hot. On concrete pads. Fire rings are right behind each site with plenty of room in between. Fire wood available on site. Shower houses 8/10 nice walk down to the lake good fishing and kayaking. Lots…
