"Tucked away in the woods I never knew this was there! Beautiful pond and a good mix of seasonal and overnight sites as well as cabins. Plenty of areas to walk our dogs and have them swim."
"Has a nice beach on a pond, a very cool splash pad next to the pool which all looked very clean. There is a snack shack next to the pond with a play scape and horseshoes."
$20 - $110 / night
"The beach is about a 1 mile walk or drive from the campground. The walk is lovely and I have seen deer, turkeys, many birds, skunks, raccoons, and other wildlife along the way."
"Located right off I95 ( which you can hear at times), the park is convenient to all the major interstates and state roads."
$60 - $120 / night
"It was a bit too cold outside but the pools and hot tubs looked nice. Splash pad was clean and used by kids. Lots of roads to bike on and walk dogs. Live band on Saturday night was nice."
"It is close by to some nice shopping areas as well. Bingo is always a family favorite and they even had that as well!"
$45 - $100 / night
"We’ve been to campgrounds with playgrounds worse than the waters edge dog park."
"This is our families favorite camping location. On the pond at Waters Edge. When asked where they want to camp my 5 and 7 year old will always respond with Waters Edge."
$14 - $24 / night
"There are trails behind the sites along a large marsh. The wildlife was incredible, a beaver family family lives in the marsh so every night around 10 they would be up splashing around loudly."
"The sites are very open, not wooded so you have little privacy from adjacent sites."
"During our stay we enjoyed our campsite as it was close to the pool. The grounds were beautiful to walk on with water nearby and little places to explore."
"We stayed at Mystic KOA in North Stonington, Connecticut, to be tourists in Mystic. Spoiler alert… we had a great stay! "
$33 - $100 / night
"we had a group from work head out here. we reserved Coyote Run, and had the field to ourselves, it was a bit of a walk to the shower from there, but we had our own outhouse, bring a light for night time"
"We took a short walk/hike and were able to make it to a river where we floated in tubes and relaxed for the day. It was a blast and we had a great time."
$17 - $50 / night
"Well this is one of Connecticut's State Parks that offers camping, so we took advantage and made several new friends. We camped, swam, fished, hiked and picnic."
"General: There are three sections to this campground: five canoe sites; 16 sites including one cabin behind the ranger station and what I would assume is the main section with 61 sites."
$74 - $80 / night
"We stayed at Aces High RV Park for a long holiday weekend to visit with our daughter in Connecticut. We paid$150/night for a‘Premium Waterfront FHU Site’ on the lake."
"Sites and roads are a pea gravel material and each site has large grassy areas around it. It was a quiet area with ponds and creeks and a generally relaxing setting."
"Lots of fun at the beach, kayaking on the lake or just hanging at your site. Petting zoo, craft cabin, arcade, bingo and lots more!"
The host were very responsive to questions and communication. We had a day delay due to a mechanical problem. They completely understood and made our funds available for another date of our choice based on availability. We were able to stay there the next evening.
Very concise directions on how to get into the property after the office is closed. We backed right up to the waters edge practically. The people that dock here were so friendly and welcoming. The pool is very clean as are the bathrooms and showers.
We feel very safe & secure staying here. Ice is available; cash only.
We stayed one night on the way to Cape Cod, but we will definitely be back in the near future.
I look forward to seeing what’s in the marina store before we leave.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Crockers Boatyard. Very friendly and helpful staff, great location, security gated after hours. Had water and 50 amp hookup. Very convenient to many attractions and restaurants. We ate at Norms Diner, Captain Scott’s and Paul’s Pasta. Easy access from I95. Would highly recommend.
Easy check in right at front gate, Didn’t even have to get out of the truck. Was handed map and daily activity list. Lots of things for kids to do. We watched a magician and played pickle ball on the courts. Kids had fun on the many play grounds. It was a bit too cold outside but the pools and hot tubs looked nice. Splash pad was clean and used by kids. Lots of roads to bike on and walk dogs. Live band on Saturday night was nice. Site was wide and allowed me to easily back in. Near perfect level. New fence poles show renovations were consistently done. Two easy dump stations with nice clean area.
Loved watching the boats being moved into the water. Close to everything we wanted to see in New London. Heavy traffic on the street but quieted down at night.
We stayed at Aces High RV Park for a long holiday weekend to visit with our daughter in Connecticut. We paid$150/night for a‘Premium Waterfront FHU Site’ on the lake. A bit pricey, but really nice site including level concrete pad and patio, clean and well-maintained utilities, and beautiful view.
THINGS I LIKED:
Clean, well-maintained, and level site with concrete pad and patio(I love a clean, level concrete pad!).
Utility hookups were in great condition and everything worked as it should (other parks should come and take a look at how to do this right).
Beautiful pond and natural setting with lots of ducks, geese, chickens, and wild birds.
20-minutes drive to Mystic and all the touristy stuff to see and do.
The whole park is quiet and nicely-maintained. You might say that it should be for$150 per night, but we all know that not all parks are- even at higher prices.
THINGS I DIDN’T LIKE SO MUCH:
WOULD WE COME BACK?
Good tent platforms, picnic tables and outhouse. CT river within view. Good site
We had an incredible stay at Douglas Forest RV Resort! From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by how peaceful and well-maintained everything was. The RV sites are spacious and easy to navigate, with full hookups and strong Wi-Fi— a big plus for us since we work remotely on the road. What really sets this place apart is the location. You’re literally steps away from Douglas State Forest, which made morning hikes and evening strolls absolutely magical. It’s pet-friendly too, and our dog loved the wooded trails and open areas. The staff was super friendly and helpful, and the camp store had everything we needed. Even though the recreation area is still being built, the amenities already in place more than made up for it. We’re already planning our next trip for summer when the pool opens! If you’re looking for a relaxing spot that blends nature with convenience, look no further. Douglas Forest RV Resort is a true hidden gem!
Had a great time solo Motocamping here! The site aren’t too close, although I did hear some people through the evening. Once quiet time hit, you could hear a pin drop! Great place to stay.
Grateful I met the “owner”. Saved me from spending my money. Not welcoming or friendly AT ALL!
