Huge park, very family friendly campground for Memorial Day

We chose this campground out of the three in the state park here for it's quiet and privacy.  Site 210 (non electric) in Old Logging Trail was quite private and shaded, although we were not able to get our squaredrop camper or truck very far off the road due to placement of the gravel pad. Tenters…

  • Lodge Visitor Center was open for main room and plumbed restrooms, but the interpretive center is still closed this spring as Of May 30th (2021) for construction.
  • site 210 from the far site towards the gravel pad. Orange tent is neighbor.

Something For Everyone

This park is a wilderness jewel! If you cycle, the paved forest road to the campground is a roll-curvy jewel through Porcupine Wilderness area. You’ll feel like your 12 yrs old again while riding it. North Country Trail hiking trail cuts through the park and a 1 mile hike around Bass Lake would…

Small campground

This was a small campground but nice sites on the water with outhouses near by. $15 per night. Very nice fire rings but lack of firewood for sale anywhere near by. Lots of thorns in the brush.

Just ok

Pulled over here for a quick stay. It is close to the freeway is about it. Not really what I would be looking for, for an extended stay. It was fine for an easy come and go. Facilities were clean.

Nice and quiet.

Wanoka is a quiet campground just off the Hwy 2. It has a nice little trout pond and is a good place to teach the younger kids fishing skills. It is however not ideal for young ones who like to play as there is no playground.

Horses and campground

This is a quiet campground in the middle of nowhere. The campground is intended to be used as campers that ride horses can stay at. People who camp in tents or small trailers will also enjoy this quiet place. There are many miles of trails that can be ridden on horseback. It is a very clean…

Relaxing

As usual Top o The Morn did not disappoint. Owners are very accommodating and personable. They are very busy working and updating cabins. If you are looking for the true up north Wisconsin getaway this is the spot!

Unbelievable camping experience here. The sites are diverse in options for both interior forest and some lake views. Hosts are great. We had fishing boats to tie off at waters edge and walk up to site. This is real forest camping. Fishing was fun. Great 4 days away from the office.

Great Campground

I spent the weekend at This camp ground and loved every moment. It was early April so quiet with only a only a couple others staying here. Hiking and Bike trails right there. Drove around the park and so much to see and experience! Highly recommend!!

First solo experience

This was my first solo tent camping night in June 5, 2020. There were some horse flies when I parked but they didn't seem to hang out in the shade of my campsite. There was a very loud bird making calls until about 1am... Maybe a whip-poor-will. Otherwise a serene spot tucked back in the walk in…

Where RV’s and Boats are Neighbors

The entrance to the marina & campground is a little rough and could use some attention. Camp office & store and restrooms could also use some fresh-ing up as well. Staff was friendly and helpful.

If you like being next to the water in your RV you would be hard pressed to find an RV site…

Great little city campground

This little city campground is a gem. Quiet and surrounded by water, it’s a pretty cool spot. Public beaches and hiking trails, boat launch. It is small and fills up fast so I would make reservations.

Beautiful Lake Owen

We’ve camped here a few times over the years. The most recent was in June 2020 in site 89 which is on the Bass lake loop. We didn’t make reservations ahead and campground ended up being full by Saturday night. Many nice sites, some are reservable and others aren’t. The lake (Owen)is beautiful, many…

Wood, private, and scenic.

This is a place that’s worth searching for. It’s fairly isolated, contained within very rural Rusk County in Wisconsin. The camping spots are well wooded and provide plenty of space and privacy. The photo have shared is of the remote campsite. It sits very alone on a smaller lake or part of the…
