Best RV Parks & Resorts near Hancock, WI

Hancock-area RV parks offer a range of accommodations for motorhomes and travel trailers, with several facilities providing full hookup options. Lake of the Woods Campground operates from April 15 to October 15, featuring water, electric, and sewer connections for RVs. Arrowhead RV Campground in Wisconsin Dells welcomes big rigs with full hookups on spacious sites, while Yukon Trails Camping Resort provides electric and water hookups but no sewer at individual sites. Fox Hill RV Park includes both 30-amp and 50-amp service options with level gravel pads suitable for larger rigs. "Sites are pretty level with gravel pad and logically positioned utilities," noted one visitor about Fox Hill.

Most RV parks in the region provide dump stations, with several offering on-site sanitary facilities even for non-guests for a small fee. While dump stations are common, not all parks include sewer hookups at individual sites. Seasonal operations typically run mid-April through mid-October, with very few facilities remaining open during winter months. Pet policies vary significantly—Lake of the Woods prohibits pets, while most other parks welcome them with standard leash requirements. Many campgrounds provide convenient access from Interstate 39, with Coloma Camperland situated within 1.5 miles of the highway. Amenities like firewood sales, camp stores, and laundry facilities are inconsistently available, with only select parks offering propane refill services. Cell service and Wi-Fi quality fluctuate throughout the area, with several reviews noting that hotspots work better than campground Wi-Fi.

    Christmas Mountain Village Campground

Christmas in Summer but I think I will skip the WInter.

This is a member resort but they do allow the public in.  We went in as Coast to Coast members.  This is an all season resort it does have a ski hill and accommodations for winter.  You can buy a condo resort, Lease a Time Share, buy a camping site ( with a Park Model on it,  Camp in a Motor Home, Trailer or Tent.  You can camp with full hook ups or as they call it the Wilderness Camping, they have some with 110 hook ups.

Facilities are very nice and clean, Swimming Pool, Club House with a lot of things to do. The sites are nice and big most are either pull through or large back in sites.  They also have an 18 holes golf course, since we don't golf really don't know how it is.

They have some WIFi but it is best at the club house the hotspots worked better.

If you would like to  visit Wisconsin Dells this is a great place as it is not very far from downtown and all the activities.  We spent 2 days exploring the Dells even in rain.  Had a great time.

If you are in the area I would check it out.

    Waupun Park Campground

Waupun County Park WI - Campground

Family friendly campground, playgrounds, pickle ball court, showers, clean bathrooms, fire rings, shared water spigots & power at camp site. There is an outdoor pavilion for groups, firewood for sale at host. Lamp posts light camp road but not overwhelming. Nice shaded sites with mature white oak trees. Enjoyed and recommend if looking for full service campsite.

Very nice place to camp. Quite and friendly. Small but accommodates all types of campers. Has 30 and 50 Amp hookups. Tenting up to cabin, they have two. My second year long term camping here. On the edge of the city and close to everything.

    Sleepy Hollow Farms

    Convenient to the highway

General: There is both a north and a south part to this campground with a total of 178 sites. The sites in the south part are all on a grassy field and there is a small man-made lake with an inflatable play area. The sites in the north part are a mix of full hook-up and tent sites. There are also small cabins (only one of which has a bathroom) and three “condos”. These all had air-conditioners, but I did not see the inside of them. The north unit features a pond, which I was disappointed to discover was algae-filled and completely green.

Site Quality: Some are pull-through and some back-in. Some sites have electric and water hookups, some have picnic tables, and some have fire rings (but not all sites have all of these amenities). Only a handful have concrete pads; the rest are all on grass.

Our impression of Sleepy Hollow was influenced in part by the fact that it poured rain for much of our overnight stay. The roads were all dirt and with the rain, became very muddy along with the campsites as well. When leaving the next day, we had some challenges backing out of our site with the amount of mud. There is no clear delineation between the sites other than where the electric and water hookups are placed.

Bathhouse: Was very clean (in both the north and south units of the campground). Showers are available for a fee (five minutes for$1.00) but we did not use them so cannot comment on how well they worked.

Activities/Amenities: In the south unit, there is a small manmade lake with an inflatable play structure and plenty of life jackets. The color is a beautiful Caribbean blue, but it did not look natural, and I was not sure of the source of the color. We were there on a weekday in September, and no one was using the lake. There is a small bar and grill (in the north section) and a concession (south unit) on-site, but both were closed when we were there. Firewood was available (15 pieces for $10); we asked and were granted permission to use the golf cart to bring the wood to our site. Other than the lake, there really is nothing offered for recreation.

We chose this campground for its location; it is very close to Highway 41 in Oshkosh (you will hear road noise) and we were meeting family there. We checked in online the day before and arrived at 3:30 pm. No one was in the office when we arrived but the family members we were meeting had arranged for us to camp in the site next to them (not the original one we had selected). This campground is VERY close to EAA (Experimental Aircraft Association), and I imagine it would be completely full during the annual EAA convention. For us, it was a convenient location but aside from spending time with our family, the reason we chose this campground.

Fox Hill RV Park & Campground

Good mix of rv and nature

We visited for opening weekend during COVID-19, so the park was quiet but open. The staff and owners here were very friendly and extremely helpful when we ran into some snags with setting up camp. We were able to check in online and drive right to our campsite, to get our enjoyment started right away. Our spot, F-2, was right across from the playground and great for my kiddo. Only neighbors to the sides and woods behind. This park has some nature trails, disc golf, and a good size dog run. It’s well kept and maintained. All site are pretty level with gravel pad and logically positioned utilities. The tent loop is more remote, but not a far walk from the park and pool. Pool wasn’t open yet this early in season. We enjoyed our peaceful stay and even booked for Memorial Day weekend as other campgrounds are closed and cancelling reservations. We are happy to have our social distanced camping experience and we’re very happy with Fox Hill. Can’t wait to come back when summer is in full swing! Compared to other campgrounds in the Dells, the price is reasonable for full hookups. It’s also really close to Devils Lake and Mirror State Park, so a perfect spot to have excellent hiking opportunities nearby and be able to quickly access all the yahoo craziness of the Dells area if you need an Olde Time Photo or a water skiing show. If you golf, there’s a 9 hole course next door that is easy to walk to.

    Wisconsin Dells KOA

Close to the Dells action but jam packed in summer

Camping the in Wisconsin Dells area is always a challenge because there are such big crowds in the summer heading to the waterparks. If you are looking to stay in your camper while enjoying the Wisconsin Dells tourism, this KOA is fine. The lots are very small, but overall paved and level so you will have a quick set up. You are on top of your neighbor and your fire pit is close (too close) to all your stuff. There is a pool, but is was crazy crowded with obnoxious campers. If you have a camper (travel trailer, motorhome, pop-up) you should have everything you need for an in-town stay at the Dells. If you're in a tent, I wouldn't chose this campground and would stay further away from the main strip.

Ice Age Campground — Devils Lake State Park

    Winter Beauty Beyond

We’ve been here multiple times but winter is truly our favorite, ice fishing, snowshoeing etc. The state park is busy in summer but not much in winter.. tons of opportunities in warmer weather which equates to the popularity. The views are fantastic and it’s family friendly. Camping was quiet and you can camp by the lake or further from the lake in the woods. Worthy of multiple returns.

Guide to Hancock

Hancock, Wisconsin camping areas offer diverse natural settings from lakeside forests to river valleys. Campers find terrain ranging from flat, open meadows to more wooded settings with some sites featuring elevation changes that provide natural drainage during summer storms.

What to do

Water recreation activities: Lake of the Woods Campground features a clean pond for swimming plus a pool and kiddie pool. "They have a store, a bar, coin op laundry, a pool, a clean little pond & a great playground... tons to do to keep busy!" notes Laura B.

Entertainment options: Many campgrounds schedule regular activities for guests. At Yukon Trails Camping Resort, "Amazing events every weekend!" according to Jen V., while another visitor mentioned, "Hosts provide plenty of activities like a DJ, breakfast, and lunch and donuts!"

What campers like

On-site amenities: Arrowhead RV Campground offers multiple recreational options. "Great campground for families with kids and teens. Tons of activities all around the campground. There were outdoor movies, put-put, corn hole, two pools, huge trampoline, volleyball nets, disc golf," reports Olivia M.

Restaurant access: Some campgrounds feature food options on-site or nearby. At Lake of the Woods Campground, "Bar has great food," according to Emily C., while Yukon Trails visitors appreciated that "They delivered our dinner, ice, and wood to our site at no extra charge."

Property layout: Campers consistently mention site configurations. "Most of the RV sites are well shaded. It is a short drive to the attractions of Wisconsin Dells and several state parks. Rustic feeling to the campground," notes Jerry S. about Arrowhead RV Campground.

What you should know

Seasonal operations: Most Hancock-area RV campgrounds operate from mid-April through mid-October. Ho-Chunk RV Resort & Campground stands out with year-round operation, though winter services may be limited.

Utility placement: Some campgrounds have challenging utility connections. At Arrowhead RV Campground, "bring extension cords for electrical hook ups.... Odd outlet placement," suggests Tim R., while another camper advised, "Make sure you bring 50 ft of electrical cord and water hose. They do offer to barrow their extension cords."

Road conditions: Weather can impact access within campgrounds. One visitor to Yukon Trails noted, "They could have used a little TLC on the roads into the sites as the rain created large holes and puddles which were a bit hard to navigate a trailer or motorhome but when we were in our site all was well!"

Tips for camping with families

Activity planning: Fremont RV Campground offers extensive kids' programming. "Great waterfront camping. Great outdoor waterpark. Fun dance for kids on Saturday night," reports Lucas S., while another visitor mentioned, "Tons of activities for kids and adults. Water parks, mini golf, playgrounds, arcade, train rides."

Group accommodations: Some campgrounds specialize in multi-family gatherings. Lake of the Woods Campground features "The group campsite it's phenomenal... tons of space for each family and a great community area for your group," according to Laura B.

Campground sections: Consider location within campgrounds. One Fox Hill visitor advised, "We stayed at site B6, which as far as I could tell is the largest site at fox hill. Their store is very large with just about anything you'd need available, including a generous RV supplies section."

Tips from RVers

Site selection: Evaluate campground sections carefully at rv campgrounds near Hancock, Wisconsin. "The B sites are shaded and seem larger than the rest," notes one Fox Hill camper, while another mentioned, "The new section will be a lot better next year, but just finished construction and it is still a wide open area."

Water quality: Some campgrounds have water issues. At Ho-Chunk RV Resort, one camper warned, "Make sure to use a water filter outside your camper. The water left an orange residue in our dog bowls, sinks and pipes."

Value considerations: Budget-conscious RVers appreciate affordable options. Omro RV Park offers "$15 a night for a site with electric hookup! Dump station and fresh water on site," according to Robert P., while another visitor confirmed, "Dump station and water available, but not at your site. Quiet, clean, well kept."
