I ended up here because I was going to a music festival in the area, and they turned me away because I have a service animal. I wasn't going to do all that work for nothing and just go home, so I decided to look up my nearest campground and it was KOA in Milton. they made me feel welcome. they understood my dilemma. it was a wonderful weekend. lots of amenities and I just absolutely can't wait to go back next year. I'm going to try to make it a couple times. so much fun, just me and my dog. And one last the thing, my fellow campers were more than hospitable and very nice and I appreciate that very much.

Site was spacious but very close to your neighbors. Lots to do in the area. Bathrooms and showers were clean. The beach was not clean and very hard to walk on, very rocky. Electricity on site and water near by. Great trails close by.

We actually stayed in a deluxe cabin at this campground, while our friends were in a camper. The deluxe cabins were $300 a night, very poor air circulation and constantly felt wet. Toilets were impossible to flush and were backing up every time a shower was taken.
Our friends have a 40' camper and could barely fit in the space provided. There was no space to hang out as their camper took up the entire space. If we wanted to start a fire, we couldn't because their fire pit (more like a rusted out ring) was directly under a tree.
Customer service was horrible - manager basically told us it wasn't their problem and wouldn't help the situation. We will not return.

We were in Site# B1. We had Full hook- up with a gravel pull-thru. We travel towing a 14 foot trailer and were able to fit both in our pull through site. My jeep though did not fit. The site was easy to level.
Our site was shaded with lots of trees. This was a larger sized lot with our neighbors not too close (but we did choose a premium site with a patio and paid extra to be on the end).
This specific lot comes with a concrete patio The lot comes with a picnic table and fire hole in the ground.
They have a community Outdoor kitchen-y area with picnic tables.
They do not provide garbage service at your site so you must walk to garbage dumpster.
You are allowed to ride personal golf carts. There is really not a need to have a Golf cart because it is a smaller campground.
They do have a Swimming pool.
There is a Playground. They also offer horseshoes and a volleyball court.
They have a great general store.
The streets are gravel so not great for riding bikes but there are great places to ride bikes outside of campground, especially around Middleton and Madison.
They have cabins for rent and tent areas.
They have one shower house. The shower house has the typical stalls. These are kept mostly clean.
There is a laundry facility. It is a cash only facility, but they have a change machine.
They have a fenced in dog park and many grassy areas to walk dogs.
There were no trails to hike in the campground.
Some fun things to do outside of the campground are the Saturday Farmer’s Market in Madison and multitude of bike trails.

My only complaint is that not every pull through is provided with a fire ring to burn wood (they almost seem random) and that the check in building is a bit bare. We rented a pull thru site for the evening since we came into the Dells for a wedding. The campground offered a variety of activities for kids which was something that would draw us back to the campground again. The sites for RVs are spaced nicely so you don’t feel like you’re right on top of another RV. Good sized sites too. Grounds appeared well taken care of. Staff was very friendly upon arrival. Will definitely come back again. Only draw back is the price, but everything is pricey in the Dells. WiFi is spotty and Verzion cell service isn’t “good” as stated.

Sites are not too secluded, but they’re clean and well taken care of, the facilities weren’t clean, they have volunteer hosts on site for any needs, the lake is beautiful during the sunset, sandy area and playground for kids, car noise is noticeable but not too loud (in the inner camp sites). Few trails around for hiking. They charge an extra $11 for each car’s entry at the gate but you can use the car pass for visiting all the state park’s trails around the area (you need permit for parking at the trailheads). It’s good for family with kids or beginner campers, but not if you’re looking for a relaxing or adventurous time.

With almost 500 sites with which to choose from, Blackhawk RV Campground is not only one of the larger RV communities you will come across here in the great Badger State, but since my initial review back in 2021, this camping outpost has made a number of enhancements and modifications. Starting with the name change from Blackhawk RV Campground to simply Blackhawk Camping Resort along with a management change are two big changes, and from what I have gathered, for the better.
Additional remodeling projects that have been completed are the brand new, in-ground heated pool, along with small kiddy pool and adjoining pool house complete with restroom and showers. A new basketball court has been refurbished with new netted hoops as well as new kid’s playgrounds that have been installed on sand lots, which the kiddos are sure to love. Top-of-the-line pioneer cottages have been constructed that feel more like modular homes, but come with all of the amenities you would expect like a complete kitchen with full-sized refrigerator, microwave and stovetop range as well as living room.
The biggest attraction here though hasn’t changed, which is the quick and EZ access to Clear Lake, which is actually a combination of 3 different lakes: Mud Lake, Clear Lake and Duck Lake, which basically surrounds the entirety of Blackhawk Camping Resort and offers up endless fishing, kayaking and boating opportunities. That said, there’s still plenty of ‘no swimming’ signs out for some reason that nobody was able to explain to me, so if a refreshing splash in the water is important to you, I would suggest calling ahead of time and asking management about this impediment.
As far as amenities go, beyond what I have already described above, you’ll also find standard back-in and pull-through site options that offer up waterfront views along with the typical hook-ups being 30 / 50 electric, fire pit and water. You will absolutely want to note that not every site offers up sewage, which is a bummer, and further, some sites offer more premium amenities like concrete patios and picnic tables. Sites also come in either grass or gravel, so be sure to ask when booking. Additional amenities include: horseshoe pits, boat slips, laundr-O-mat, activity center, boat ramp, designated dumpsters, on-site store, fishing dock, dance pavilion and volleyball court.
Insider’s tips? Here’s a few: (1) Once you grow weary of digging through your roto-molded Cordova cooler or on-board mini-fridge, then head on into the nearby hamlet of Milton for some good Midwestern comfort food, where you can find made-from-scratch biscuits & gravy over at Mary’s Café, fresh, hot homemade pies at Paul Revere’s Pizza or for something a bit more upscale, the proper, white tablecloth Frederick’s Supper Club of which I recommend the bacon-wrapped Prime Rib bites followed by the Diablo pasta;(2) If you are looking for a nice, different distraction that you wouldn’t expect in these parts, let alone Wisconsin writ large, head on over to Timber Hill Winery, which is a family-run local vineyard featuring a fairly amazing tasting room offering up some not-so-typical varietals like Red, White & Berry, Cherry Bomb and my favorite, PB&J Back to School; (3) Should you need to stock up on anything while staying at Blackhawk Camping Resort, you’ll also find just about everything you need in nearby Milton where you’ll have Beverage Mart, Dollar General, The Meat Market, Piggly Wiggly as well as Ace Hardware to help keep you supplied up while enjoying the outdoors; and (4) If you’re one of those families that like to track down the oversized and obscure while traversing across this great country, then head just a bit down south of where you are at to Janesville where you can meet Bessie the Cow, which stands 16 feet tall and 20 feet wide – you can easily park at the nearby Arby’s at no cost and just walk over to meet her.

All the other campgrounds in OshKosh are near the airport, which makes sense since the biggest event each year is the EVAA air show. None of them have trees.
Hickory Oaks has it's own airfield and lots and lots of trees. They even have a mini-lake (4 acres).
There are all types of RV sites, tenting/primitive sites and group sites, some small cabins as well. We camped in site 60 because we arrived after dark, and Cindy suggested that our first choice, #67 might be too hard to find at night. There is only one street light, and it's by site #1 and the swim area.
The map doesn't really convey what an oasis of trees this place is. To the West is the runway and beyond that, a large grassy hill (it's actually landfill). To the east in a rural road running along the lake. To the north, in the distance is a prison. That all sounds worse than it is, it's a lovely campground.
There are a few things for sale in the office, but you're so close to town you can get everything there. Cindy the operator is extremely nice and helpful.
Fire pits are 30" rings with no grate, Tables seem smaller than average.
If you're visiting in the summer, be sure to visit the Farmer's Market , Saturdays on Main Street, also Wagner's Market for the best meats, deli and beverages. The Paine museum & gardens and the city museum are both worth visits as well.

The swimming pond opened in 2023! Very nice with sandy beach! Jumping pillow, catch and release pond(needs landscaping work) Playground. You will not get any tv reception, there is no WIFi. The game room and laundry is upstairs in the barn. They should not have laundry facilities"upstairs" Maybe this will change with new owners/improvements. They need to add a playground near the pond as well. It's quite a distance from some sites. Black top roads would also be nice for children riding bikes and people like me using a walker to get around. We camped at Skillet Creek Campground in a Travel Trailer.

ScoutI would love to say we'd recommend Fox Hill as we've been here for family reunions for the last 4 years (after my husband growing up coming here). But after experiencing "the owner's mom" yelling at my teen playing at the playground, l'll have to pass and suggest a new family reunion location.
For what it's worth: I was standing chatting with family as my son was on the seesaw. If she disliked him playing on it, there's an appropriate way to speak to: a. Children (who are worthy of respect) b. Customers. Screaming at them and aggressively speaking to the parents is a bad way to run a business.
I was more than willing to overlook the increased prices year over year, the less than great bathrooms, + smoking at the new arcade (which is open randomly at best)..but absolutely unwilling to overlook the way people are treated. Hopefully a discussion is had moving forward so other teens feel welcome to be outside + play amongst their far younger cousins.

I feel they could have let us know it was seasonal and given us the option of a different site but they chose it for us. We would not have chosen this site. The hook ups are on the wrong side so we had to back in sideways to make it work. With the camper sideways the back is only a foot from the pop out bed on the camper behind us and the camper next to us is close with a storage shed and a large electric box between the shed and our camper. We had to park our truck almost into another site to get off the street. Will not recommend or come back. Very disappointed!!
