    Cross Creek Camping Resort

Big Resort with lots of trees

This is a RV resort close to a lake with a lot of seasonal campers. It is busy on the weekend but was very quiet during the week. The sites are close, but not unreasonably close. Good mix of pull through and back in and is big rig friendly. Plenty to do for the kids. Pool looks nice, was not open yet for the season.

    Amish Country Campsites

    Amish campsite

Very small campgrounds literally next to if not part of a corn field extremely cramped back if our camper was 2ft from the camper behind us and 15 ft from the campers left to right. When we left we had to knock on camper doors to ask folks to move their cars so we could pull out of out parking spot. The other campers were very nice lots of local folks they were fun to talk to. The camp site did have clean showers. Hot water. And. Clean restroom facilities. The dump station isn’t the best it is on a hill so dumping ones waste tanks completely could be a challenge The owners were polite but short The sites aren’t the best the electric is only 30 amp. And very dated they did have water hookups at each site. I didn’t take any pictures as there wasn’t anything to see at the campground other than campers packed in like sardines It is close to town and the shops. Everything closed at 5:00 including gas stations As they say any port in a storm. So as a last resort I guess it’s is okay. Just don’t plan to leave after 5:00 pm unless you have a full tank of gas. No ada camp sites. They are pet friendly

    River Trail Crossing

    Nice little campground

River Trail Crossing is privately owned, small campground (which we like) but nice and quiet. Sites include tents, small rigs and large pull through sites for big rigs. Sites located on the river are water and electric. Sites off the river have 50 amp and 30 amp. State route 95 runs to the right of the campsite so if you reserve any sites on the river (right side) you will have some traffic noise from the bridge. We reserved spot 32, farthest site to the right on the river. We loved it. The river was only about knee to hip deep. Most family’s floated with tubes and saw some kayaks. Not much for fishing at this particular section of the river. There is a paved bike/walking trail behind the campground - B&O trail. Bathrooms and showers were very clean. They do have 2 dumpsites available. We really enjoyed this campground, owners were very friendly and offer firewood and propane if needed. Mohican state park is only 10-15 minutes away which is really nice for hiking and fishing as well. We will be back!

    Cross Creek Camping Resort

    Excellent Campground!

Cross Creek Camping Resort in Delaware, Ohio is a very nice campground with friendly staff and lots of amenities! There are large back-in and pull-thru sites, each with grass, tree, picnic table, and fire pit. They are 30/50 amp with FHU. The campground has lots of fun things for the family such as swimming pool, playground, basketball, tennis, dog run, laundry, yard games, and so much more! The store is stocked with snacks, souvenirs, clothing, camping supplies, holiday decor, etc. We love the large shade trees at every site. It is a blessing on those hot summer days. All in all, a great campground! Check it out when in the area. 👍🏻😉

    Berkshire Campgrounds

    Incorrect pricing

The price advertised on The Dyrt is incorrect. It is not $38.50/day. We paid $50.29 with full hook ups. Very clean, staff very nice, but guests are not allowed without registering at the office. Many seasonal/full time residents which made for quite a bit of early morning traffic. Beautiful fishing pond with well groomed trails. Dogs are allowed off leash on the trails. Staff very pet friendly and courteous. Well appointed camp store. Water pressure excellent. Electric well within standard. Gravel pads, our site was off 2”.

    Tree Haven Campground

    Great first RV experience.

Great little campground. My wife and I spent a month out there in a fifth wheel to see if we like the lifestyle. Very nice pool(clean). Great walking trail back through the woods. Pet friendly and the bathrooms were very nice. Well....I guess we did! We are now in a search for a Diesel pusher to go full-time!

    Alum Creek State Park Campground

Beautiful State Park close to Columbus Ohio

Alum Creek State Park is a beautiful park and great campground just outside the hustle and bustle of downtown Columbus and minutes away from attractions such as the Columbus Zoo.

The campground has good sized sites and is wooded throughout with clean bath houses, well maintained roads, and easy access for big rigs.

There is also a very nice dog park in the park including dog beaches with lake access for your pups to swim.

We love this campground and the beautiful lake and appreciate the easy access to local attractions, shopping, and more.

Guide to Loudonville

Mohican area camping locations cater to diverse camping preferences with sites ranging from primitive tent spots to fully equipped RV pads. The region sits among gently rolling hills at elevations around 1,000-1,300 feet, with the Mohican River carving through valleys. Summer temperatures typically reach 75-85°F during peak camping months, with cooler evenings in the 55-65°F range.

What to do

Canoe and kayak river trips: The Mohican River provides water recreation opportunities at Mohican Adventures Campground. "We took advantage of their seven mile canoe trip which was rich with scenery... we enjoyed much solitude on the river which took about 2.15 hours to traverse in our canoe," shared Jacob W.

Fishing options: Multiple campgrounds offer fishing access points. "My boys were able to walk across the road to get to the pond that was well stocked with fish. It was catch and release but they were very excited to pull in some big ones," reported Emily from her stay at Whispering Hills Jellystone.

Bike trail access: Several campgrounds connect to regional bike paths. "Bike trail access right from the campground. Golf nearby, Amish shops, canoeing. Great area to visit," noted Bob M. about River Trail Crossing, which sits adjacent to a paved trail.

Indoor pool options: For rainy days or hot weather, indoor swimming is available. "The indoor pool is great for enjoying a swim even in January and the bathrooms and showers are spotless and very private," reports Bob R. about Evergreen Park RV Resort.

What campers like

Peaceful atmosphere: Many campsites provide quiet surroundings. "Nice, small, shaded, well maintained campground. Wasn't crowded when we visited in Sep... Beautiful lake, nice and quiet. Lots of waterfowl," stated Shelly S. about Kokosing River Campground.

Clean facilities: Bathroom cleanliness ranks high in visitor feedback. "SPOTLESS bathrooms and I mean SPOTLESS. Lots to do for kids: Sand Volleyball, basketball court, tetherball, corn hole area and playground," Tara T. shared about Berlin RV Park.

Winter camping access: Limited but available winter camping options exist. "We camped here the second weekend in December and had the park mostly to ourselves. There were only 3 other campers there. The game room was nice as well as the indoor pool," noted Andrea F. about Evergreen Park RV Resort.

Family activities: On-site entertainment keeps children occupied. "Great activities including mini golf, pool, jumping pad and frisbee golf. Cabins and RV spots available and the staff is friendly, grounds are clean and nicely kept," Kayla S. mentioned about Whispering Hills Jellystone.

What you should know

Cell service varies: Coverage differs significantly between campgrounds and specific sites. "There is zero internet and no signal which is fine for camping but made finding the weather or maps very challenging," Lindsey reported about Mohican Adventures.

Site spacing considerations: Site proximity varies between rv sites near Loudonville, Ohio. "Sites are level. Laundry building was great also. Only downside would be road noise on front sites," Janet B. noted about Berlin RV Park.

Utility connection placement: Some campgrounds have unusual hookup layouts. "The one and only issue is that water and electricity is located in the rear area of RV, while sewer connections are toward the front. I personally used 50' of water line and 30' of sewer line," Earl B. shared about Scenic Hills RV Park.

Navigation challenges: GPS directions may lead to inappropriate routes. "Getting here proved to be tricky... To find this place, search for 1 Wally Bridge, Loudonville, OH and then follow Wally Road... If your GPS says to take ANY township roads, just don't. They are not paved, steep, and/or have sharp turns," warned Gregory L. about Wally World.

Tips for camping with families

Off-season visits for space: Consider camping outside peak summer months. "We camped here off season and had the place to ourselves. We had a pull through site which was gravel. The staff is friendly and the indoor pool and shower houses were amazing," Renee L. shared about Mohican Adventures.

Private tent spots: Some campgrounds offer more secluded non-RV options. "We tent camped and had a private spot in the woods which we loved. The campgrounds covers all the basics. We fished and swam in the indoor pool," Lo H. noted about Mohican Adventures.

Supervised lake activities: Multiple water features cater to children with parental oversight. "Second time at this campground. We enjoy our stays. Peaceful and great for kids. Kayaking on the lake is great. Camp staff very friendly and helpful," wrote Mark B. about Kokosing River Campground.

Insect preparation: Some locations report minimal bug issues. "We were very pleased with this rv park. They keep the grounds well maintained, the playground also well maintained. There also was not an issue with biting insects - none of us got a mosquito bite during our stay here," shared Jenalee R. about Berlin RV Park.

Tips from RVers

Level site selection: RV sites near Loudonville, Ohio frequently require leveling adjustment. "We had difficulty leveling one night in lot 3 but traded to #4 the next night and did fine. The many pull thru lots looked like a good level base," advised Craig T. at Berlin RV Park.

Extended stay preparation: For longer visits without full hookups, consider portable options. "Only downside is most of the sites don't have a sewer hookup so make sure to bring a portable tank if you are staying for more than a couple of days," recommended Gregory L. about Wally World.

Weight restrictions: Large rigs must navigate bridge limitations. "Do note the bridge you need to cross has a weight limit of 10 tons, so larger rigs will need to come up Wally Road from the south," cautioned Gregory L. about accessing Wally World.

Winter RV accommodations: Limited cold-weather camping options exist. "We spent the weekend here while visiting Amish country in Ohio. Good dry firewood is available for $3 a bucket (basically a dollar a stick) which, I thought, was a pretty good deal," Kenny C. shared about Berlin RV Park.
