Amazing Carrizozo Lava flow camping!

This BML maintained campground is like new! There are no reservations, so it’s first come. An iron ranger for payment is at the entrance, but there is also a nice ranger on site who drives around the campground in a ute. I camped in a pull through site a few up from the entrance, but there was very…

High country campground.

Very quiet little park with just a few spots, has water and electricity and a dump site. Close to Lincoln, NM. Historical Fort Stanton just down the road.

Awesome campground

This campsite is a gem. We stayed from Wednesday to Saturday and we were the only campers there until mid day on Friday. Many people visit for the quick waterfall hike (can be done in less than 30 min). The “campsites” are very spread out. I’m not sure where they all are because I only saw 3. It…

Great location but tiny spots

This park has some elements that were fantastic which countered the drawbacks. The hosts were extremely helpful and the park is adjacent to Lincoln National park. I literally walked out of my door and up the road. The only drawback is site size. I'm in a 21.5' TT and drive an F150. There was…

Sweet retreat

This is a sweet little quiet campground that offers paved or gravel parking along with picnic tables fire rings and grills at each camping spot. There are no hookups, dry camping only. Firewood available at camp host for $6 a bundle.

I stay at this campground often

As said in the above title I stay here often. This is dispersed camping. No water no trash cans so pack it in pack it out. This said I always have an enjoyable stay. I nearly always see lots of wildlife. The campsite s are large and widely spaced. The town of Capitan is only about 15 to 20 miles…

Dispersed Campground in close proximity to Cloudcroft.

I camped here for two nights 20 August 2021. A very beautiful campground within about 6 miles out of Cloudcroft New Mexico. This is dispersed camping. Amenities include water, vault type toilets, picknic tables, fire rings, and a camp host. The camping fee is $25.00 per night. 12.50 per night with…

Beautiful area with 8-10 pull off sites.

Arrived around 6 pm on a Tuesday evening. Took a right at the fork (sweet group campsite there but occupied) and stayed the night at a pull off to the left, about halfway up the hill. Road is a little rough but flattens out as you go up the hill. After the fork, sites big enough for a van or larger…

Nice campground with two trails

We tent-camped at Oliver Lee State Park on 8/14/2021. Overall good experience. We took a 2 mile hike down and around the riparian trail where there was water in the canyon that disappeared in the creek bed beyond the canyon. We didn’t attempt the steep trail to the ridge. Although we visited in…

Glorious mountain views, clean sites, friendly staff

What a gem of a state park. Sites were private, spaced well apart and had mountain and city views. Each site had a picnic table (some have shelters over them) and a fire ring. We stayed in site 10 and really liked it. It had a path to the comfort station, which was clean and well equipped. This…

Nice quiet dispersed campground

Slow driving in due to the gravel road. Roads into the campground are rough but accessible. Beautiful mature trees and wildflowers. Fire rings, thanks to previous campers. Cattle graze through sporadically. There's flies, so bring big spray. Gorgeous mountains in the background.

No phone service

No phone service Verizon or ATT Also bathrooms and showers are closed. They said they only had water & electric sites without telling me about the closures. I can see plenty of full hook up sites that are empty. Nice setting but I can't recommend this place.
