Best Campgrounds in Montana

Easy to get to. Can park a decent size rv in some spots and group camp in s couple. There are only a few spots thought.

There was a you g lonely moose crossing the river and sleeping in the camp at night during my stay. If you’re not from Montana expect those that are to be unfriendly, that’s a thing here. Fire pits are a joke and burn band are common

Extra 5$ over other local campgrounds because there is water available and trash. Not especially nice or terrible. Very small sites, most with no room for a normal size tent, sites packed on top of each other. Even the few meant for small rvs have little room. Host on site in a nice beautiful and well maintained site, the public sites are not well maintained. Overgrown with weeds, very disappointing. Hosts don’t do much and are unhelpful. Suggest looking for any other CG in the area, there are several

12 sites with good tables and fire rings. This is a well maintained NFS campground. 3 vault toilets that are kept clean. Sites #1 & #2 get the most sun, are the largest, and can accommodate any size RV. The remaining sites vary in size. #2 can easily hold 5 full size trucks side by side, or three medium size trailers/5th wheels with their tow vehicles. It also has 3 large tables, plenty of open ground for tents, and is ideal for large groups and families. Toilets are located across from site 3, between 5/6, across from 12. #7 is low ground camping you walk down to with minimal shade and perfect for hot weather days.

The exit is at site 12, one way travel thru the campground. Across the street from the exit is the entry to sites 1-4 horse camping. Small sites with table, fire ring, and enough room for a small tent. There are 3 large metal structures with 3 chains each for horses and 2 horizontal tie out bars. No room to park horse trailers on that pull thru. One trailer spot across from site 4 by the “stock water trail” sign, the rest can park 50 yards down the road at the trail head/turn around. There are 2 additional tie out areas here for horses and plenty of room for horse trailers and several other vehicles.

Be sure to read the notice above the envelope box before you pay. From weather dependent dates chosen by the Rangers there is no cost from late Oct to late May. Otherwise it is $10 per night, $5 with golden or access passes.

No cell service, only 1 mile to the paved road, Ranger station is only about 1/2 mile down that paved road. The Rangers are proactive in sharing any important information such as severe weather, bear activity, or any other notable activity.

The page sez the campground is closed. That was years ago when the Yellowstone River flooded. I was a camp host there last summer it is most definitely open. Going back this summer as well.

This spot isn't idea for any large rig. Maybe a single vehicle. Definitely not suggested for tents. Stopped to take a break from road to the sun. About all its good for.

Secluded location. I believe it's a ranch that lets people stay for a night or two. There were horse wranglers out and we asked if we could park and they were fine. Definitely nice mountain views with wild horses. This spot is outside of the glacier park.

One heck of a location with mountain views. Ideas for smaller rigs and tents . Nice view of heavens peak.

Very large campground with A-C sections. Was very booked and spots are fairly close but rates were decent. Access to both the creek and McDonald lake.

This property has been freshly updated with natural rocks, landscaping and upscale amenities. The staff is outgoing and friendly. We have been going here for over 10 years and the pools at different temperatures are heavenly and refreshing. Family oriented, clean sites and cabins sit along a running creek. Bathrooms and showers are centrally located, warm, secure and clean.

Excellent tent and RV park just passed the north entrance to YSNP. Very helpful staff and very clean restrooms/showers.

No crowds at all! There was a car or two that drive past. Absolutely beautiful views!

Slept by a shelter in the city park. Running water, supposedly you aren’t supposed to drink the water in most parts of east Montana. But the water didn’t taste/ seem bad. One bathroom, non- flushing wooden box style toilet. Horrible bathrooms. Pool nearby is a plus, the pool let me use their flushing toilets. Cheap entry fee to pool aswell. Park fairly close to grocery store.

Our stay at Bernie and Sharon’s Riverfront RV Park was absolutely fantastic! The location is stunning – nestled right by the river, offering breathtaking views and a peaceful atmosphere. It’s the perfect spot to relax and reconnect with nature.

The hospitality was truly exceptional. Bernie and Sharon went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. We enjoyed a cozy campfire thanks to their generosity in providing a fire ring and even a couple of logs to get us started. Their thoughtfulness made the experience even more memorable!

We also camped in our Tesla, and the park was fully equipped for EV travelers with a 14-50 amp outlet, making it super convenient to charge our vehicle while we enjoyed the great outdoors.

The amenities were spotless, and the grounds were beautifully maintained. Whether you’re looking to fish, explore the surroundings, or simply unwind by the water, this RV park has everything you need for a perfect getaway.

I hiked with my dag, and that made it even more fun!

We needed an easy stop crossing from WA to the Midwest. When we arrived, a number of sites were being used, but they were just there for the day. We loved our spacious spot with an amazing view of the river. Few bugs in September. We backtracked the next morning to explore Pompey's Pillar National Monument.

Beginning off season, pull through site with water and electric. Uncrowded, convenient, but close to highway so a bit noisy. Bathrooms could use some heat and attention.

The town of Eureka closed this park to overnight camping as they had trouble with people over staying there welcome.
