This was a very nice swimming and paddle boat park on the Hillsborough River when I was a kid.As a family we visited many times. Now everything is closed down except camping, hiking, canoeing if you bring your own. But still a nice place to camp. Better if not during rainy season here in…

We love State and County parks. This is our favorite county park it is very clean and close to restaurants grocery stores. It has a nice spring to swim in. Several sites are on the river.
We got into this site with a last minute cancellation over Labor Day weekend. It was a beautiful location! We had site 43 which was secluded from neighbors and in full shade. The back of the site opened to an open field and we constantly saw deer walking through the grounds. We also saw many…

We loved the large sites. And pretty private. Wooded areas between sites. Nice clean restrooms and showers. Only 2 showers in the ladies bath house. It's old but clean. But it's sapose to be no pets. And a camper near us had a very large dog in a cage that barked all day. Very annoying. Bad area…
Hottest month in Florida but still we had a lovely time here at this park. It was our first time taking our 2016 class C out on the road as total newbies. We checked in at the office with Duane (very friendly) & all the signs are clearly labeled. #2 RV spot was a little small but #3 is lovely…

Every morning I drank coffee and watched dolphins play 10-15 feet away from me. Waterfront campsites are amazing. Tons of fish and Manatees. All the amenities you need plus spectacular scenario. Make a trip to Sandollar island, hike the fort or just find your own stretch of private beach. 4 days of…

We reserved this site so that we could be at Disney World bright & early the next day! We arrived late due to vehicle issues & I happened to call ahead and they gave me the gate code. I re-read my emails and that was noted (to call by 5pm local time if arriving late). Sites are super flat…
Very dated and messy. Lots were muddy and not mowed. We had one of the few paved sites so we were lucky. The premium sites are not really anything more then grass. Lots of full timers and messy lots. Staff is super nice!!
Has beautiful pool with a tiki hut grill and beer bar during weekends. Many activities all week.
This place is lovely. We have stayed here many times. The staff is wonderful. I recommend renting a golf cart and exploring the wilderness. If you golf, there is a nice course connected to the park.
I live within a hours drive from this park and have been camping here for 40 plus years. This State Park is Old Florida, sites are secluded from the other sites compared to many other parks. There is a abundance of wildlife and plenty of hiking trails. This park to me is one of the best you will…

Really nice campground, beautiful area with many hikes and easy walks, the beach, historic sites, really nice camp store and well maintained sites! But so many raccoons!! Oh my gosh like they are not afraid of people and will come and take the s’mores right off your plate! Late while our family was…

Great place. Near the bike trail and a quick ride to honeymoon island state park.
Went with a group and reserved the electric spaces. They had firewood for sale and there are stores within a few miles. It's close to the Weeki Wachi Springs Park for the Mermaid show or kayaking down the river.
