    SUMMARY PRESENTED BYT-Mobile

Campgrounds near Melmore, Ohio accommodate a range of camping styles from tent sites to cabin rentals. Walnut Grove Campground in Tiffin offers cabin, tent, and RV camping with hookups for water, sewer, and electricity. Sunset Springs RV Resort in Bucyrus provides similar options with boat access. These established campgrounds typically operate seasonally, with most open from April or May through October. The area includes several family-oriented parks with amenities like picnic tables, drinking water, and shower facilities, serving both weekend visitors and seasonal campers.

Camping availability is largely seasonal throughout the region, with most facilities closed during winter months. Meadowbrook Park Campground operates from April 15 to October 31, while Foxfire Campground and Tee Pee Family Campground maintain similar seasons. Most sites require reservations, particularly during summer weekends and holidays. The predominantly flat terrain makes access straightforward for most vehicles, though heavy rainfall can affect ground conditions. "Sites are spacious and level. Manager was extremely helpful," noted one visitor about Meadowbrook Park, though they mentioned "constant trains right across the street blowing their horns" as the only drawback.

Recreational amenities feature prominently in camper reviews of the area. Swimming ponds or pools appear at several campgrounds, with Foxfire Family Fun Park offering "a large blow up slide" in their pond according to visitor feedback. Fishing opportunities exist at multiple locations, and organized activities are common. A visitor to Walnut Grove mentioned "great Halloween activities" and "very kind and informed" staff. Leafy Oaks RV Park receives positive reviews for its wooded tent sites, with one camper noting it was "very peaceful" with "lots of trees." Family-friendly programming is emphasized at several parks, particularly at the KOA Campground in Shelby, where visitors appreciate the activities, heated swimming pool, and playground facilities for children.

      Back 40 Campground

      Great park.

Stayed over 4th of July. Place was packed. We only stayed two days but had to pay for three. We knew this going in, and I don't blame them for requiring a 3 day stay on holidays because they're just packed; and if you only booked two days , they would lose out on a day because nobody's going to take just one day. Was worth the extra $. As to the park, it is very nice. Clean, mowed and trimmed. Great roads. There are quite a few full timers and several that rent the same slots continously and stay only part time. Access is controlled by a gate and if you arrive after 10pm you'll have to park outside in overflow and walk to your camper. We did not find this to be a problem. Narrow driveway in and out of park, RVs can't pass each other so giving way is a must. Back 40 has many sites and is very popular with the locals Several are only elect and water, quite a few appear to be full hookup, but not sure how many are permanently rented. All Rigs in the park when we stayed were well kept up - no junk ones. Internet was overwhelmed while we were there due to too many users. However we had great 5G Verizon service. Owners and staff were great. Only 2 showers in each gender. They are a bit dated but generally clean and very usable. We really enjoyed our stay and would book again should we return. We didn't have time for investigating local sites, but the Muesum of the US Air Force is a one hr drive and VERY worth the trip. It will take you 6 or 7 hrs to see it all. Highly recommend this park.

      East Harbor State Park Campground

      Easy layover

Just staying here one night before moving on. We snagged one of the full hookup sites, B131. It has a nice open grassy area, picnic table, and Firepit with some mature trees, providing plenty of shade for this site. Although lots of campers on top of each other, being an end site gave us more room and privacy. We walked a trail along the water, to the beach. It was a nice well-maintained trail, and only a little over a mile to get to the beach.

      East Harbor State Park Campground

      Really Nice State Park!

The campground is very nice with clean facilities, activities and nice sites (especially in areas A and B). If you are there in June, expect Mayflies. No big deal, just be prepared. My only negative is the beach could have been a bit cleaner.

      Tee Pee Family Campground

Overnight just okay - better for long term campers

We were traveling home and needed a place to stay for the night and hoped for full hookup.  Looked up and found this place and another that was reportedly 3x the number of sites who was having a big hog roast that evening.  This was the largest campground we stayed at during our 2 week trip and our first RV trip generally.  The spaces were close (tight) and thankfully we had a small class C.  Many seemed to be permanent with full builds of patios and covers.  Firepits at each site were old tire rims.  Quiet hours are late (11 PM) and we are not late people.  Probably fine if you want to spend time engaging with everyone around you, you sleep well and have good sound dampening in your rig.  For the occasional overnight to just get home or to the next place, take this place for what it is, a place for long term campers ideally with kids.  Was a good learning opportunity to avoid such places in the future.

      Delaware State Park Campground

      Delaware ohio state park

We love this park. Nice camp sites. Lots of wooded areas. Very nice lake. Has lots to do, put put golf, shuffle board, disk golf. But our last camp there was disappointing. 3 of the campers in area D where we were did nothing all day and evening smoking Marijuana. We had to smell the skunk smell all day long from them as well as them letting there kids ride around on a golf cart all day and night with no head lites not even tagged for on road.I brought it to the camp stores attention and they said there's nothing they can do, we don't enforce the rules here . They said if I had a problem to call odnr. There was a camp host at the restroom area and watched a lady take her dog inside and said nothing to her.what are the parks rules for if the host won't even enforce them. Not one ranger through the park for 3 days..

      Farnsworth Campground

      Nice place

It's $25 per night for individual campsites, and $35 per night for the group site. The individual campsites both also have shelters, picnic table, and fire rings. The shelter also has a place built-in for a fire. Bench seats around the interior perimeter of the shelter, along with hooks for hammock beds. It's literally right on the Maumee River, so you can easily fish while in your individual campsite! There are portable toilets on the grounds, and the campsites are beside a walking trail and boat launch.
