Niagara County Camping Resort welcomes pets at its campground in Lockport, with spacious sites that accommodate tents, RVs, and cabins. The resort maintains clean, large camping areas where dogs can accompany their owners throughout most of the property. Four Mile Creek State Park Campground in nearby Youngstown also allows pets with proper rabies vaccination documentation, offering electric hookups and designated pet-friendly camping loops. Campers note the quiet surroundings at Niagara County provide a relaxing atmosphere for both humans and their four-legged companions. Most campgrounds in the area require pets to be leashed at all times, with leash lengths typically restricted to six feet or less. HTR Niagara Campground on Grand Island features a dedicated dog park where pets can exercise off-leash, providing a safe space for dogs to play while their owners enjoy the camping experience.
Golden Hill State Park Campground offers pet-friendly sites with Lake Ontario views, where dogs can enjoy shoreline walks with their owners. The park's camping loops include several pet-designated areas with easy access to walking paths. Daisy Barn Campground in Wilson provides a giant green space between campsites and Lake Ontario that's perfect for throwing balls with dogs. Most campgrounds in the region require proof of current rabies vaccination, so travelers should bring veterinary documentation. Niagara Falls North/Lewiston KOA includes a dog play area among its amenities, though some visitors note mosquitoes can be problematic during summer months. The region's state parks typically enforce strict pet policies, including keeping dogs leashed, cleaning up waste promptly, and restricting pets from certain areas such as beaches and buildings. Several campgrounds offer water access where dogs can cool off during hot summer days, though swimming areas specifically for pets are limited.
"Site Details: We stayed on site#79, which was an electric site with a nice lake view. Our row of sites was separated from Lake Ontario by a large, open field."
"Staff inside office were very friendly-gave many trail suggestions and good tips for navigating the city. Comes with state park parking pass to park free and access to town shuttle."

"With it being close in proximity to the Niagara Falls made nice but many turn over of campers making this a busy park. The sites were level and our site had full hook ups."
"It’s right off the main road and nearby trains blared their horns throughout the night. Might not be that bad if you’re in a camper."

"This was a beautiful campground right on Lake Ontario. You could even see Toronto from the shore. The host was super accommodating when we realized our assigned spot was close to the road."
"Everything was tidy and clean, from our campsite, laundry room, showers, bathroom, camp store, and walking paths. My only complaint is that all campsites do NOT have a view of Lake Ontario."

Jake from the Dyrt here! Quiet Valley is a glamping campground with canvas tents in a slowed down country setting in New York. Check them out and leave a review about your stay on the Dyrt!
Nice secluded place. Quiet surroundings with lots of stuff for kids to do. Swimming, fishing, putt putt, petting zoo. Camp sites are clean and large. Ownership is extremely friendly. Will visit again.
There was a great WiFi connection, so it was difficult to get my boys to go explore! We have a 35 foot travel trailer and had zero difficulty backing into a W/E spot. Gravel pads, decent space between RVs. We did need our extra hose to reach our spigot but I think that was unusual. The dump station was easy to get to and clean when we left.
Playgrounds, beach, mini-golf, dog park, bounce pillow, basketball, volleyball, movie nights, wagon rides twice a day with Jellystone characters, lots of daily activities, water park, kayaks, SUP’s, canoes, LIFEGUARDS!... ALL INCLUDED. My kids did mini-golf 4 times. Snack bar (with good wings and delivers!). Golf cart rentals. What was I most impressed with? Trash pickup. You put it in front of your site, somebody picked it up. Any time of day.
There were three types of cabins I saw, but didn’t go inside. You could fish in the pond. The website says Laser Tag but we didn’t explore that far. The town is teeny tiny so no good grocery store around. The grounds were well kept. Niagara Falls were a little more than an hour away. Great day trip!
We we will come back next year and bring our cousins!
Things I enjoyed about Cherry Hill Campground:
The owners are awesome, approachable, and helpful.
Many sites are separated by hedges, are drive-in sites yet still close to water, restrooms, and shower even a microwave.
There are nature yoga classes and they bring bands in to perform. It is right across from Darian Lake Six Flags theme park. And dogs are welcome without a pet fee.
The only thing I didn't enjoy was a neighbor across the hedge who felt a need to play his music loud and continual, (we were so lucky the music was agreeable to our tastes). Music is supposed to stop at midnight. Call the office and the neighbors turn off the music until starting up again at 2:30 am.
The price we pay for hyper convenience in camping and of course, it is a dice roll and probably not a problem during the week.
Great place to relax and have fun with the family , lots of pets , kids loved the beach and it's only minutes from 6 flags
Quiet campground with close campsites. Nice grassy area for pets. We were parked directly behind the motel. Dated facilities. 12 minutes from the Falls 20 minutes from Canada. We stayed 3 nights and personally would not stay longer than that. There was some sketchy folks with obvious drug activity inside the motel who on occasion would come out back. They never bothered us but not super comforting.
I dont even know where to start 2 water parks for kids and adults play areas for pets DEFINITELY BRING OR RENT THE GOLF CART , very hilly but tons of fun
We have camped here several times. Bathrooms are very clean along with the showers. They are cleaned on a daily basis. Store on site has just the bare amenities. Big clubhouse, 2 heated pools and a pond to fish (catch & release). Sites are big. Pet friendly. Staff are very friendly. 10-15 minutes from Niagara Falls and close to stores. It does have 2 on site laundry facilities but the dryers take a while. Enjoy going there.
Four Mile Creek State Park Campground is located on Lake Ontario, approximately 20 minutes from Niagara Falls. The campground spans three distinct camping loops with varying levels of privacy and amenities. Visitors can access the state park system's parking areas near Niagara Falls at no additional cost with their camping permit. Most campsites require advance reservations during the peak season from May through October.
Visit Niagara Falls: Four Mile Creek State Park Campground provides convenient access to Niagara Falls, about 20 minutes away. "About 30 minutes from Niagara Falls. Staff inside office were very friendly-gave many trail suggestions and good tips for navigating the city. Comes with state park parking pass to park free and access to town shuttle," notes Evan in a Four Mile Creek State Park Campground review.
Watch lake sunsets: Lake Ontario offers exceptional sunset viewing opportunities. According to Laura Nicole A., "This isn't the biggest or fanciest place but it's simple and wonderful for a weekend getaway. The sunsets you'll catch on Lake Ontario are some of the best you'll see."
Explore local towns: The area features several historic towns within short driving distance. "Another neat town to visit is Lockport, about 30 minutes away (Lake Effect Ice Cream is a must!). This is a very rural area, so the fresh produce stands are plentiful during the summer season," explains Jen V.
Spacious sites: HTR Niagara Campground offers generous camping areas. "Lots of activities at this park, staff is friendly, clean pools, facilities, zip line, boat rentals, spacious sites, and minutes from the falls!" says Keri.
Quieter camping experience: Many campgrounds in the region provide a peaceful atmosphere away from crowds. A reviewer named Parker mentioned that Daisy Barn Campground is "Very well kept campground. Owners on site and attentive. Walking distance to Lake Ontario, you can see Toronto on a clear day."
Clean facilities: Campgrounds maintain well-kept amenities. "The bathhouse in the 200 loop with bathrooms and showers are up-to-date and SUPER CLEAN. (Note: No dishwashing station in this loop, so bring your own system," reports Paula about Four Mile Creek State Park.
Seasonal availability: Most campgrounds operate from May through October. "This is a clean and well maintained campground. The good thing about this site is that there is a great bathroom available and very relaxed environment," notes Jay B. about Golden Hill State Park Campground.
Variable site conditions: Campsite quality can vary within the same campground. "There is a mix of shaded and wide open sites. We camped at site 161 which was fairly shaded and had a large open field with a view of Lake Ontario," explains Stacia R.
Weather considerations: Summer months can bring insects and humidity. A visitor to Niagara Falls North/Lewiston KOA warned, "The only issues we had were the absurd amount of mosquitoes literally all day long. They were relentless! Also there was alot of mud in our campsite and others."
Playground access: Some campgrounds offer dedicated play areas. L W. reports about Branches of Niagara Campground: "This was the most perfect family campground we've been to. Our favorites were the 3 pools and brand new playground. We have little kids and they were just as entertained as all the big kids."
Site selection for kids: Paula advises, "This is a friendly and clean state park campground where you can choose your own environmental experience. Camping with kids and enjoy interacting with other camping families? Then the 100 loop with large playground (lots of sites with electric hookups, though not a lot of shade) is for you!"
Dog friendly options: Several campgrounds welcome pets with certain restrictions. "Dog friendly but bring proof of rabies vac," mentions Evan about Four Mile Creek State Park Campground. This policy is common at most dog friendly campgrounds near Lockport.
Power considerations: Niagara County Camping Resort has some electrical challenges to note. Gary P. shared: "Our problem was that the low voltage power would trip our EMS. Power went to as low as 109 volts that I saw. We really wanted to love it there but with no sewer and bad power we had to leave early."
Site surface types: Different campgrounds offer various parking surfaces. Kara W. explains about AA Royal Motel & Campground: "The sites are full hook up or w/e only. There are pull throughs and back-ins, 30amp and 50amp sites. The sites toward the front are definitely more level and have better cell service, but the sites toward the back are better shaded."
Full hookup availability: Not all campgrounds offer complete hookups. "Electrical hook up, worked great for our RV. Water and dump site available on grounds," notes Evan about the facilities at Four Mile Creek State Park Campground.
