What to do
Hiking at Four Mile Creek State Park: The park features trails with minimal elevation change, making them accessible for most visitors. "Great sites, secluded from neighbors. Nice trails to hike," notes Ashley B. about Four Mile Creek State Park Campground.
Lake Ontario sunset viewing: Several campgrounds position visitors for optimal sunset viewing across the lake. "The sunsets you'll catch on Lake Ontario are some of the best you'll see. You can't swim off the ledges, but this place is worth it," reports Laura Nicole A. about Four Mile Creek.
Niagara Falls exploration: Use campgrounds as a convenient base for visiting the falls. "We stayed here when seeing the falls easy 18 min drive to the falls. One perk we were not aware of was free parking at one of the three New Yark park parking lots with our campground pass," writes SkipperAllen C.
Fishing opportunities: Many local campgrounds offer catch-and-release fishing in on-site ponds or nearby waterways. At Niagaras Lazy Lakes Camping Resort, you'll find "2 heated pools and a pond to fish (catch & release). Sites are big," according to Connie J.
What campers like

Nearby historic sites: Fort Niagara sits just minutes from some campgrounds. "Fort Niagara is about 5 minutes away, the falls are 15-20 minutes away, and there are many farm stands and cute little towns nearby," shares Jen V.
Different site options: Campgrounds offer various privacy levels and environments. "This is a friendly and clean state park campground where you can choose your own environmental experience," writes Paula about Four Mile Creek State Park. "Camping with kids and enjoy interacting with other camping families? Then the 100 loop with large playground is for you... Interested in a less social scene, then the 200 loop or the 300 loop might be for you."
Quality facilities: Most campgrounds maintain clean facilities. "Bathhouse in the 200 loop with bathrooms and showers are up-to-date and SUPER CLEAN," notes Paula about Four Mile Creek State Park.

Variable site conditions: Site quality varies significantly between campgrounds. "Our site actually had a gravel driveway and pad, as did several others, but I noticed that the majority of sites were grass only," reports Jen V. about Four Mile Creek.
