Mountain views

The cabin was great. Beds were comfortable, had all dishware needed plus cleaning supplies. If you have horses bring long hose. The hydrant is located about 115 away, no water tanks. It is located at the start of a trail. You will have a small amount of traffic

Great Scenery, nice sites

Sites were readily available the night we stayed, about 12 in the main campground and several more sites with fire rings outside by the trail entrance. Overall pretty clean, and the lake has a small trail to walk around. The road to get to the trailhead and campground was slow going and really just…

Enjoyed the cabin

We upgraded from a tent site to a cabin because there was a storm coming through as we were driving. We enjoyed the cabin quite a bit, and we'll do it again. We love the campground, but the traffic noise and occasional trains were quite irritating

Beautiful Location

This campsite is located in a beautiful remote area of Montana, only a short hike away from the beginning of the Missouri River. Large site. The only problem was there were many mosquitoes.

So much to explore! Spectacularly scenic!

The adjacent Hyalite Reservoir is spectacularly scenic. Bring your favorite watercraft or floaty, because you'll want to go out onto the water to explore, taking in the fantastic scenery. A number of formal and informal hiking trails- mostly across the reservoir or a short drive to the trailhead,…

Tucked away campground

Small campground tucked away from highway. Right on shore of river/resevoir. Heavily used train tracks on opposite shore, so you get some train noise but not horrible. Bugs can get nasty with the slow water. Good fishing area.

Rustic Cabin

Cozy forest service cabin, wood stove for heat. Close to highway, so there's road noise but creek and cliffs make it relaxing to sit outside. (Families with small children beware of Proximity to highway).

Nice stay on Boulder River

Very nice campground with a beautiful river next to it. Try to get a spot on either end instead of next to river if you are in an rv as these sites are very close together.

Meh

Upside: friendly, family oriented Downside: spaces very close together, bathrooms were worn, no propane fill (exchange only), and noisy from highway and trains ( which I know the owners can’t control)

Off the beaten path

I pulled off I-90 after a long (windy) trip to get had in Big Timber, MT. We saw a sign for Spring Creek and wanted to check if see they had any spots for the night. After driving through town and a little bit of Deliverance Country, we turned in the RV Park and Trout Ranch. Despite being busy with…

Glamping with a View

We were in need of a place to stay while attending a field seminar in Yellowstone.  It is about a 30 min drive to Gardiner/Entrance to Yellowstone.  The owners have experience in the hospitality industry and it shows inside the tent.  We stayed in the Elk because we wanted a private bathroom. The…

Missouri headwaters

Pretty nice place. Campsites barely fit a tent but some sites for campers. Lots of hiking trails and super clean bathrooms. $24 for out of staters for the night
